PREFACE: Our WESTERN CULTURE makes much use of the abstract language based concepts of LOCAL SOURCING as in GROWTH and PRODUCTION which effectively SUBSTITUTE for the physically real relational TRANSFORMATION which is meanwhile NONLOCAL and therefore INEFFABLE.   The utility of having a spoken language is so great that SUBSTITUTING  NAMING-instantiated LOCAL thing-in-itself BEING along with GRAMMAR instantiated power of SOURCING actions and developments is a small DOUBLE ERROR price to pay for putting at our disposal a means for sharing a crude but EFFABLE-because-LOCAL allusion to our INEFFABLE-because-NONLOCAL sensory experience of inclusion in the Wave-field aka the Tao.

WE WESTERN CULTURE ADHERENTS, while we benefit from our employing of the language and grammar tool that lets us construct a SURROGATE reality with its abstractions of GROWTH and PRODUCTION, experience a negative backlash through our banishment of the real world dynamic on NONLOCAL TRANSFORMATION.  We praise and reward on the basis of belief in the abstraction of perceived LOCALLY SOURCED GROWTH and PRODUCTION of desirable actions and developments and critique and punish undesirable actions and developments.  What’s in common is the BELIEF in the LOCAL SOURCING of GROWTH and PRODUCTION, a belief that holds us WESTERN CULTURE ADHERENTS in its sway, but whiich in modern physics as in EASTERN CULTURES, understood as language and grammar stimulated abstraction invented for the purpose of stimulating an INTUITIVE LEAP to the INEFFABLE-because-NONLOCAL.

The EAST and modern physics understands reality in terms of an all-including Wave-field whose forms are in a FIGURE-and-GROUND-as-ONE relation, as in the Tai-Chi (yin/yang) symbol.  Movement in this understanding of reality is NONLOCAL TRANSFORMATION as distinguished from LOCAL GROWTH.

WHERE DOES THE CONCEPT OF LOCAL GROWTH come from; e.g. we say that the cultivated land (e.g. the area planted with wheat) is GROWING.   That gives us the impression of GROWTH of an area.  That is deemed to ‘make sense’ in WESTERN CULTURE ADHERENT thinking, but in modern physics and in the EAST, the SHRINKAGE of the Wilderness is reciprocal to the GROWTH, and overall, what is going on, always, in nature, is TRANSFORMATION which is neither GROWTH nor SHRINKAGE because both GROWTH and THINKAGE are based on DOUBLE ERROR thinking (Nietzsche) which we construct from NAMING (to impute LOCAL thing-in-itself being) and GRAMMAR (to impute the power of SOURCING actions and development to the naming-instantiated LOCAL thing-in-itself).

TRANSFORMATION is purely relational and NONLOCAL and something that our sensory experience informs us of our inclusion in.  So, as relational forms in Nature, we are under no obligation to invent a language to talk about this, but language based sharing of experience is very useful, even if language can only work by substituting LOCAL abstractions (since TRANSFORMATION is real and NONLOCAL, that which is “LOCAL” is not “REAL”) and animate them with GRAMMAR.   This substituting of a DOUBLE ERROR based pseudo-reality is very useful for ‘sharing’ crude effigies that are suggestive of the gathering and scattering relational forms in the NONLOCAL TRANSFORMING flow-continuum aka the Wave-field aka the Tao.

Having created LOCAL FIGURES to substitute for the relational forms-inflow in the holographic Wave-field, and having invented GRAMMAR to intellectually provision these LOCAL FIGURES with simulated powers of SOURCING actions and developments, all we are missing is a GRAMMATICAL GROUND for these FIGURES to be CONTAINED IN.  But is a CONTAINER really necessary?  It seems as if we could construct what we need in terms of the dynamics of the FIGURES.  For example, if I am a farmer who has been GROWING (as in increasing the expanse of land under cultivation) my wheat fields, I can capture this VISUALLY by showing pictures of my farm as it GROWS from the initial 2 acres to its current 640 acre size.  Who would argue against the assertion that this GROWTH is REAL?  Not the bank manager who knows how to multiply 20 bushels of wheat per acre times 5 dollar per bushel times the acreage of the farm which has GROWN from 2 acres to 640 acres.

If GROWTH is ‘real’ in a financial sense and is encouraged by people in pursuit of financial growth, then what is to become of the Wilderness plants and creatures and the Wilderness lands of ecosystemic diversity that undergo SHRINKAGE in reciprocal relation to the GROWTH of cultivated land?

Is “GROWTH” a meaningful concept?  The Tai-Chi relation says that FIGURE-and-GROUND-are-ONE so that there can be NO GROWTH without SHRINKAGE as in the case of ‘the GROWTH of cultivated lands’ and the reciprocal SHRINKAGE of Wilderness lands, these two seeming OPPOSITES are instead CONJUGATES wherein FIGURE and GROUND are ONE.

What is surfacing here is the inability of language and grammar to capture NONLOCAL TRANSFORMATION.   Locally, FIRE BURNS as when the farmer burns the stubble remaining in the field after harvesting the crops.  Looking at the land overall and watching the burnt patch GROW can induce in the intellectualizing mind, (a) the GROWTH of the LOCAL burnt patch, (b) the SHRINKAGE of the LOCAL unburned patch, or (c) TRANSFORMATION of the NONLOCAL relational continuum.

LESSON: WATCH OUT FOR DECEPTION COMING FROM LANGUAGE AND GRAMMAR; i.e. there is no such thing as GROWTH because GROWTH implies LOCAL existence which is the base that is doing the GROWING.  BUT, there IS TRANSFORMATION which is NONLOCAL, but that which is NONLOCAL is INEFFABLE because we can’t point to it and say ‘there it is’.  We live within an transforming relational continuum which is NONLOCAL and thus INEFFABLE.  This is the Wave-field aka the Tao.  But the utility of even crudely being able to articulate in language and share a crude surrogate of our experience is so great that we have developed a technique for constructing a surrogate pseudo-realty.

GROWTH is an abstraction that belongs to the abstract surrogate construction.  What GROWTH does is it splits FIGURE-and-GROUND-as-ONE as in a fluid dynamic, into FIGURE-and-GROUND-as-TWO so that ‘the FIGURE’ can be said to (and thus seen to) GROW on its own, as if it is independent of the GROUND it is included in.  Thus the farmer’s field of wheat can be SAID to (and intellectual SEEN to) GROW from its initial 2 acres to its later 640 acres, thanks to the intellectual abstraction of FIGURE and GROUND as TWO which lets us talk about the GROWTH of the FIGURE as if in its own right.

Now the creatures of the Wilderness are not going to like this conceptualizing of GROWTH as ‘real’ since all the while that GROWTH is proceeding, there is a antithetical conjugate SHRINKING of Wilderness which no-one is talking about with their ‘forked tongue’ depictions of GROWTH of the cultivated lands, backed up with visual PICTURES that testify to the REALITY of this GROWTH.  Here is our town ten years ago, and here is our town now.  See how much it has GROWN. But what have the indigenous aboriginals been saying?

“What will happen when the secret corners of the forest are heavy with the scent of many men and the view of the ripe hills is blotted by talking wires? Where will the thicket be? Gone! Where will the eagle be? Gone! And what is it to say goodbye to the swift pony and the hunt? The end of living and the beginning of survival” — Chief Seattle

Visual informing by way of PICTURES orients to particular PERSPECTIVES and the perspective that shows the LOCAL GROWTH of the town ‘over time’ may not encompass the SHRINKAGE of Wilderness, but even if it does, we use our language and grammar in DOUBLE ERROR mode (NAMING and GRAMMAR mode) where the first error is NAMING that imputes LOCAL thing-in-itself existence (to ‘the town’) conflated with the second error of GRAMMAR that imputes the power of LOCAL SOURCING of actions and development (e.g. the town “is GROWING larger and denser and more active”).   By this time, the listener that is using this language to mentally construct visual impressions has a PICTURE of the town as a FIGURE that is ‘doing the GROWING’ and has left the GROUND like a loose sheet flapping in the breeze.

In effect, our language and grammar treatment is relegating ‘GROUND’ to a non-participant, leaving the FIGURE with full responsibility for demonstrating the change action.  This is the crazy-making result in our intellectualizing psyche’s linguistic conceptualization when we split FIGURE and GROUND into TWO so that FIGURE can strut its stuff without being bogged down in conjugate relationship with GROUND as in FIGURE-and-GROUND-as-ONE, as in modern physics, indigenous aboriginal cultures, Taoism/Buddhism and Advaita Vedanta.

With FIGURE and GROUND as TWO, … GROWTH of the field as FIGURE becomes something REAL and TRANSFORMATION is no longer operative.  This is where we speak of ‘land development’ as ‘improvements to the land’, where we eradicate the Wilderness diversity and infuse GROWTH of human-preferred mono-cultures, ignoring the greater reality of TRANSFORMATION.

So, there is no such thing as GROWTH.  It is the creation of the DOUBLE ERROR of NAMING and GRAMMAR and when we start talking about GROWTH, we start thinking in terms of FIGURE-and-GROUND-as-TWO and lose touch with our intuitive understanding of Nature as TRANSFORMATION wherein FIGURE-and-GROUND-are-ONE.   That is what Chief Seattle is rightly complaining about; the general BIPOLAR DISORDER that permeates WESTERN CULUTURE ADHERENCE.

There Ain’t No Cure for TRANSFORMATION, Apart from LOVE

My Life as a Local Sourcing Agent of Material dynamics, or, as an Inclusion in Transformation

I am trying to hold myself together as a LOCAL independent agent with powers of sourcing material actions and developments, operating out of a Salish Sea Island (‘normally’, but not at the moment due to turbulence in the relational matrix I am included in [illness in the family]).

Although receiving help from friends on the Island to ‘keep things together’ (keep the house and ‘belongings’ from being rudely sucked into the ambient transformative recycling process of Nature), I am ever conscious of this battle to sustain the material structure that I have put in place and am trying to maintain (remotely) with a lot of help from my friends.  I feel much like the town of Rockville up the coast that is being reclaimed by the sea.  The signs on the shoulders of the seriously-eroded coastal highway that announce ‘Entering Rockville’ and “Leaving Rockwille’ are now separated by a mud-filled washout that has recently become part of the tidal zone.

In other words, recent events have made me only too aware of the PRETENCE of the LOCAL EXISTENCE of my ‘home’ as if it were a ‘stand-alone’ thing-in-itself, … an abstraction that is being seriously challenged by TRANSFORMATION which is silently and smilingly doing-its-stuff (here the imagery of a smiling Buddha comes to mind), and in the process making my own home that I talk about and write about in all its LOCAL existential detail, as if that is now being exposed as no more than an intellectual fiction that WESTERN CULTURE ADHERENTS such as myself, are wont to elevate to the status of a PRIMARY REALITY.

Here I am also reminded of Nietzsche and his Will to Power discussion wherein we WESTERN CULTURE ADHERENTS use language and grammar to construct DOUBLE ERROR based (pseudo-) realities with the combination of NAMING and GRAMMAR.

What I am talking about is the fact that TRANSFORMATION is the pre-lingual directly-experienceable influence that is shaping the dynamics of my life, and COVID 19 only adds emphasis to this reality of inclusion in TRANSFORMATION.   Meanwhile because I am a WESTERN CULTURE ADHERENT, I have been trying to sustain the pretense that I am the primary architect of my unfolding life, in the same sort of sense as those of us in the Island village I normally reside in, relationally interact and administer to the sustaining of OUR LOCAL community.  BUT IS THAT “REALLY” THE “TRUTH” of what is actually going on?

ARE THERE REALLY THINGS THAT ARE “LOCAL” or is that the DOUBLE ERROR of NAMING and GRAMMAR that Nietzsche speaks about, … intellectual abstraction cultivated in the mind by language?  Can the “LOCAL” people who compose the town; i.e. ‘the “LOCAL” townspeople’ really SOURCE LOCAL ACTIONS AND DEVELOPMENTS, or is that just a psychological impression triggered by DOUBLE ERROR constructs?

The sign ‘Entering Rockville’ is still there alongside the section of remaining highway that lies just before the barrier that now blocks the road and stops vehicles from dropping off into the muddy tidal flat where the sea has made its incursion, and on the ‘other side of town’, just beyond the bank bordering the opposite side of that muddy embayment, the sign ‘Leaving Rockville’ is still standing.

As I look around me, it is evident that THE WHOLE FRIGGIN COUNTRYSIDE WITH ITS NON-SEPARATE OCEAN FRONT IS A TRANSFORMING RELATIONAL CONTINUUM, … so, how do I fit the LOCAL town of ROCKVILLE INTO THIS PICTURE?   It seems to GROW on its own and not in concert with the TRANSFORMING RELATIONAL CONTINUUM.   The notion of GROWTH seems to be a one-sided abstraction that implies THING-IN-ITSELNESS of that which is “GROWING”.  Howe do we fit GROWTH into TRANSFORMATION.  I guess we don’t!

So, where does the notion of the LOCAL thing-in-itselfness of a TOWN come from and how does LOCAL thing-in-itselfness tally with TRANSFORMATION?   NAMING and GRAMMAR, the DOUBLE ERROR, as Nietzsche terms them, which together conjure up the notions of LOCAL THINGS-IN-THEMSELVES with their own powers of SOURCING actions and developments such “GROWTH”, like Rockville, give us conceptual impressions of their being the LOCAL SOURCE (of production) of wicker chairs and tables.

How does all that bullshit abstraction about Rockville’s LOCAL thing-in-itself being and LOCAL powers of sourcing actions and developments gain acceptance as ‘the TRUTH’?  How and why do we let it substitute for NONLOCAL TRANSFORMATION?

Do we not kind of … ‘will it’ into existence?  I say this since my sensory experiencing of reality is INEFFABLE since it is in continual flux and includes everything, including me.

In short, TRANSFORMATION comes from my INEFFABLE-because-NONLOCAL-and-IMPLICIT sensory experience based understanding rather than from my EFFABLE-because-LOCAL-and-EXPLICTI intellectually-contrived material dynamics.  Someone has got to be chuckling as we who compose the LOCAL community of Rockville continue to boast about our Emperor’s new clothes’ as the town of Rockville gets more obviously sucked off the coast into the sea; i.e. how long can we pretend that there is a LOCAL thing-in-itself here with its own powers of sourcing actions and developments, … and let such abstraction over-ride, in our talk and in our intellectual conceptualizing, the transforming relational continuum that is the reality of our actual sensory experience?

The purported “LOCAL EXISTENCE” of Rockville as established IN OUR INTELLECTUALLY ABSTRACTING MIND with the help of the DOUBLE ERROR of NAMING and GRAMMAR as a Local Sourcing Agent of Material dynamics gradually, as it slides beneath encroaching waters, becomes more and more difficult to speak proudly of with a straight face.  Naming and Grammar can only do so much, and there needs to be a minimal working base within the transforming relational continuum on which to hang our ‘Emperor’s New Clothes’ that signify a LOCALLY INCIPIENT SOURCING AGENCY.

As Nietzsche points out, we invent local stuff and equip it with its own local sourcing powers, and make it out to be something that exists and acts in its own right, like Rockville, when all the while, there is only NONLOCAL relational transformation.

Will to truth is a making firm, a making true and durable, an abolition of the false character of things, a reinterpretation of it into beings, “Truth” is therefore not something there, that might be found or discovered — but something that must be created and that gives a name to a process, or rather to a will to overcome that has in itself no end— introducing truth, as a processus in infinitum, ah active determining — hot a becoming conscious of something that is in itself firm and determined. It is a word for the “will to power.” – Nietzsche, Will to Power

Supposing that we really are included in a transforming relational continuum as is the finding of modern physics (and the long-standing understanding of indigenous aboriginal cultures, Taoism/Buddhism and Advaita Vedanta).  Such inclusion in a transforming relational continuum where ‘everything is in flux’ would be INEFFABLE-because-NONLOCAL-and-IMPLICIT.  Would we not then have to invent language to generate a crude surrogate that could serve up something EFFABLE-because-LOCAL-and-EXPLICIT?  As Nietzsche points out, we have to INVENT BINARY CONCEPTS to break into the continuum in order to give LOCAL piecemeal (articulable) expression to the innately INEFFABLE ‘transformation’..

Continual transition forbids us to speak of “individuals,” etc; the “number” of beings is itself in flux. We would know nothing of time and motion if we did not, in a coarse fashion, believe we see what is at “rest” beside what is in motion. The same applies to cause and effect, and without the erroneous conception of “empty space” we should certainly not have acquired the conception of space. The principle of identity has behind it the “apparent fact” of things that are the same. A world in a state of becoming could not, in a strict sense, be “comprehended” or “known”; only to the extent that the “comprehending” and “knowing” intellect encounters a coarse, already-created world, fabricated out of mere appearances but become firm to the extent that this kind of appearance has preserved life — only to this extent is there anything like “knowledge”; i.e., a measuring of earlier and later errors by one another.” – Nietzsche, ‘The Will to Power.

Of interest here is that this last sentence of Nietzsche’s describes the mathematical process of DIFFERENTIATION where we CREATE something LOCAL (the differential) by a binary stopping and starting of the fluidly transforming continuum.  This problematic MATHEMATICAL approach of creating something LOCAL in the NONLOCAL continuum, prompted an attack by Bishop Berkeley on Newton’s mathematics of fluxions (differential calculus);

Bishop Berkeley was on target with his criticism of Newton’s calculus in his treatise – ‘The analyst: or a discourse addressed to an infidel mathematician’;

“And what are these fluxions [derivatives]? The velocities of evanescent increments. And what are these same evanescent increments? They are neither finite quantities, nor quantities infinitely small, nor yet nothing. May we not call them ghosts of departed quantities?”

The point here is that these “ghost of departed quantities” arise from the DOUBLE ERROR of NAMING and GRAMMAR as is pointed out by Nietzsche, that we WESTERN CULTURE ADHERENTS are giving a foundational role in our constructions of intellectually digestible ‘reality .  These mathematical ‘differentials’ as symbolized by ‘dx/dt’ that establish LOCAL sourcing agency’, derive from this same abstract DOUBLE ERROR based conceptualizing that invents an EFFABLE-because-LOCAL-and-EXPLICIT conceptualizing of the INEFFABLE-because-NONLOCAL-and-IMPLICIT. Differentiation is a crude solution to the INEFFABLE-because-NONLOCAL-and-IMPLICIT conundrum; i.e. differentiation of ‘space’ establishes LOCALITY while differentiation of ‘time’ establishes TEMPORALITY.  Together, this binary splitting apart allows us to fabricate and inject LOCALLY SOURCED MOVEMENT where there is really only NONLOCAL TRANSFORMATION.

“In its origin language belongs in the age of the most rudimentary form of psychology. We enter a realm of crude fetishism when we summon before consciousness the basic presuppositions of the metaphysics of language, in plain talk, the presuppositions of reason. Everywhere it sees a doer and doing; it believes in will as the cause; it believes in the ego, in the ego as being, in the ego as substance, and it projects this faith in the ego-substance upon all things–only thereby does it first create the concept of “thing.” Everywhere “being” is projected by thought, pushed underneath, as the cause; the concept of being follows, and is a derivative of, the concept of ego. In the beginning there is that great calamity of an error that the will is something which is effective, that will is a capacity. Today we know that it is only a word.” – Nietzsche, Chapter 5 (Reason in Philosophy) of Twilight of the Idols.

What about that “LOCAL TOWN” that was experiencing GROWTH as if ‘in-its-own-right’ and was becoming widely known for “ITS PRODUCTION OF WICKER CHAIRS”?  That was until TRANSFORMATION RAISED ITS HEAD and unfolded a watery embayment smack between the signs announcing ‘ENTERING Rockville’ and ‘LEAVING Rockville’, ‘with a big bite taken out of where Rockville used to be’.  So, … will the last occupant leaving Rockville, please turn off the lights on the Rockville signage that has been sustaining Rockville’s LOCAL BEING’, …. as a courtesy to the greater reality of TRANSFORMATION!

What is it that gets into the heads of those of us considering ourselves “ROCKVILLE LOCALS” that has us see ourselves as having powers of LOCALLY SOURCING actions and development, such as the development of the town of Rockville as if it were a LOCAL thing-in-itself’?

THE ANSWER IS: … “THE DOUBLE ERROR OF NAMING AND GRAMMAR”, the first error of NAMING imputing to a relational forming in the transforming relational continuum, its own LOCAL BEING, conflated with the second error of GRAMMAR which imputes to the naming-instantiated LOCAL BEING its own (notional) powers of sourcing actions and developments.  With this DOUBLE ERROR we can recast the relational gathering in the transforming relational continuum as the LOCAL jumpstart source of actions and developments.

Rockville thus becomes the ‘producer’ of wicker chairs.  We have successfully implanted the DOUBLE ERROR into the NONLOCAL dynamics of the transforming relational continuum to establish notional (in the abstracting intellect) LOCAL sourcing of actions and developments.  This LOCAL town with is own POWERS OF LOCAL SOURCING (production) of actions and developments becomes ‘the new reality’, and as it does, we lose touch with the natural experience-based reality of inclusion in the NONLOCAL transforming relational continuum.

This brings this discussion back to the question in the title;

My Life as a Local Sourcing Agent of Material dynamics, or, as an Inclusion in Transformation

I must admit that (perhaps due to my WESTERN CULTURE ADHERING) upbringing, the option of conceiving myself to be an inclusion in transformation seems, at first, to be a bit ‘wimpy’ by comparison to the ‘standard’ WESTERN CULTURE option of seeing myself as a ‘Local sourcing agent of material dynamics’.  However, in contemplating this further (and more deeply), I can see where ‘making me one with everything’ does away with the binary antagonisms of good and evil and ego-inflating and deflating, all of which come bundled in with the DOUBLE ERROR depiction of myself as a LOCAL SOURCING AGENT of material dynamics.

There are, IN REALITY, no PATHOGENS (LOCAL SOURCES of harmful actions and developments) or BENOGENS (LOCAL sources of helpful/beneficial actions and developments) because there is no such thing as “LOCAL SOURCING” of actions and developments in the NONLOCALTRANSFORMING RELATIONAL CONTINUUM aka ‘the Wave-field’ aka ‘the Tao’.

GOODBYE “COVID 19” as a “PATHOGEN”, … HELLO “COVID 19” as an attribute of the TRANSFORMING RELATIONAL CONTINUUM we all share inclusion in.   As F. David Peat points out in ‘BLACKFOOT PHYSICS’ and as his research associate David Bohm also points out, our WESTERN CULTURE habit of DOUBLE ERROR based conceptualization of reality is abstraction-based CONTRIVANCE designed to SUBSTITUTE the EFFABLE-because-LOCAL-and-EXPLICIT mechanistic intellectual pseudo-reality for the INEFFABLE-because-NONLOCAL-and-IMPLICIT sensory experience reality.  This allows us to get by the effable-izing block pointed to by Lao Tzu (the Tao which can be told is not the true Tao) and Wittgenstein

The IMPLICIT-because-NONLOCAL resonance phenomenon of can replaced by a SUBSTITUTE EXPLICIT-because-LOCAL “substitute” by way of the “DOUBLE ERROR”

The FIRST ERROR is where we impose LOCAL VISUAL LIMITS on the inherently NONLOCAL resonance phenomenon, and NAME THE VISUALLY LIMITED GEOMETRIC FORM (e.g. ‘the DUNE’).

The SECOND ERROR is where we conflate the first error of NAMING with GRAMMAR by imputing to the LOCAL GEOMETRIC FORM, its own power of SOURCING actions and developments.

EXAMPLES of the DOUBLE ERROR include ‘LIGHTNING FLASHES’ (Nietzsche), ‘FIRE BURNS’ (Nishitani) along with innumerable, common WESTERN CULTURE language and grammar structures such as Pathogens kill, including COVID 19 KILLS.

NOTA BENE:  There are no PATHOGENS or BENOGENS (no ‘doers-of-deeds’, no ‘local sourcing of actions and developments’) in the reality of our sensory experiencing of inclusion in the transforming relational continuum, there is only TRANSFORMATION.

If we are included in Transformation, the natural question becomes how to experience and continue to stay as one while co-cultivating transformation. In this case, there is no ‘attack of pathogens’, there is only relational dissonance where we fail to sustain harmony in our TRANSFORMATION.

While if our understanding is that we are being attacked by pathogens, our challenge is with respect to how we can defend against the effects of pathogens.  This may be the suppression of TRANSFORMATION.

In the case of the ocean changing the coastline and removing a large portion of our ‘growing’ town, we have the juxtaposing of two very different understandings of dynamics.  Is our town with a big hole out of it still the same town?   … … explore this … the name stays the same even if the thing it refers to is caught up in transformation.; i.e. naming suppresses the understanding of transformation.

What if all but a piece of it gets washed away.   What if a country undergoes splinter groups that break off and form their own states, … can the original state keep its former name and identity?    Would language using the names of states not then be confusing?  insofar as individuals have multiple citizenship and move about from state to state, what do we mean when we use the name of a state in the our language constructs?

NAMING imputes the notion of LOCAL independently-existing things-in-themselves which is abstraction that is not supportable by sensory experience.   Mitakuye oyasin expresses the understanding, supported by sensory experience that everything is related.

ERROR.  we make the assumption that the figure we measure and later re-measure is ‘the same figure’ and then speak of the GROWTH of the figure, … but in the case of TRANSFORMATION, it is not the same figure.  This recalls the adage that “we cannot step in the same river twice because it is not the same river and the form stepping into it is not the same form”.   This speaks to TRANSFORMATION as reality rather than the dynamic interactions of independent things-in-themselves.


In the account of the washout of the highway, something surfaces.   It is the juxtaposition of TRANSFORMATION and DOUBLE ERROR based (LOCAL) material dynamics which shows that TRANSFORMATION is a higher order complexity of dynamics than ‘material movement’ based dynamics ‘over time’ .

The logic of the excluded medium is LOCAL vision-based logic EITHER IS-because-visible OR IS NOT-because-not-visible.

the logic of the included medium is NONLOCAL sensing-intuiting based on BOTH ‘IS’ because sensed but not seen AND ‘IS NOT’ because NOT seen but sensed (the tidal water pool BOTH ‘IS’ AND ‘IS NOT’).

The GROWTH of cultivated land is LOCAL and the shrinkage of Wilderness is NONLOCAL.  The NONLOCAL is the greater reality and here there is TRANSFORMATION and not GROWTH.    TRANSFORMATION both ‘IS’ GROWTH and ‘IS NOT’ GROWTH.  The cultivated land GROWS while the Wilderness land SHRINKS.   TRANSFORMATION is the greater reality. (‘GROWTH’ and ‘SHRINKAGE’ are both abstractions that imply the abstraction of a LOCAL THING-IN-ITSELF that is doing the ‘GROWING’ or ‘SHRINKING” and thus offering the psyche a means of reducing TRANSFORMATION that is NONLOCAL and thus INEFFABLE to ‘GROWTH and/or SHRINKAGE’ which implies LOCAL change undergone by a LOCAL (NAMING-instantiated) THING-in-itself..

Where does logic fit into speech? There are two types of logic wherein; figure-and-ground-are-two (Euclidian), and ‘figure-and-ground-are-one (Quantum).

Reality in the ballroom social dynamic on the Titanic is based on the DOUBLE ERROR of NAMING and GRAMMAR.  Introductions to naming-instantiated things-in-themselves?  Meet the Ballroom; it is a LOCAL SPACE that can contain LOCAL things-in-themselves, like ‘dancers’ and ‘musicians’ who can cook up a LOCAL social dynamic called “Dancing”.  Is it a ‘reality’?  We can experience inclusion in a Dancing but all the while the Dancing is included in something beyond it, which is the transforming relational continuum.  If the ‘NONLOCAL transforming relational continuum’ is ‘reality’ then the LOCAL ‘Dancing’ is a very incomplete pseudo-reality which we can use the DOUBLE ERROR of NAMING and GRAMMAR to flesh out as if it were a LOCAL reality, as for example ‘The Dancers are Dancing’.  When asked ‘where we are’; i.e. when we are asked to specify our ‘LOCATION’, we may respond that we are ‘at a dance’ in the Ballroom on the Titanic.

The greater reality is that we are in the all-including transforming relational continuum or Wave-field which is INEFFABLE-because-NONLOCAL (it just keeps on going since everything is in flux).

We can’t start TALKING about the NONLOCAL because it is the unfolding FLOW-continuum aka ‘the Tao’ of Lao-Tzu, and the Logos of Heraclitus and the Wave-field of modern physics.  THE NONLOCAL is INEFFABLE and it is all-including and is the primary reality of our sensory experience.

How, then, do we get to talk about our experience of inclusion in the NONLOCAL since it is INEFFABLE?

(Note that the many creatures get by very well without having language and stay ‘more in tune’ with one another and the transforming relational continuum, than many of those do who actively employ language.).

We have to use tricks like the DOUBLE ERROR of NAMING and GRAMMAR so as to impute the abstract concept of the LOCAL thing-in-itself and the abstract concept of the notional POWER of LOCAL SOURCING that gives rise to (notional) LOCALLY INCIPIENT actions and developments.  We do this to render EFFABLE-because-LOCAL, the INEFFABLE-becaue-NONLOCAL

With this DOUBLE ERROR of NAMING AND GRAMMAR we equip ourselves for constructing LOCAL (pseudo-) realities such as the LOCAL reality of the social collective dancing session in the ballroom in the Titanic.  This LOCAL reality is in our language-and-grammar stimulated intellectualizing mind and it gets more real as we share it among ourselves and all implicitly agree with the ‘talk’ that we are ‘at a dance’ as if the ‘dance’ is a real thing in itself in which we are included participants, and not just a ‘dancing’.  That is, words with ‘ing’ on the end like ‘transforming’ imply something NONLOCAL and ongoing (“ongoing” means NONLOCAL in TIME, so TRANSFORMING is both NONLOCAL in SPACE and NONLOCAL in TIME. If we are sitting in the ballroom of the Titanic on a slow night and we say; ‘we are dancing’, it recalls the indigenous aboriginal understanding;

‘Sometimes I go about in pity for myself and all the while a great wind is bearing me across the sky.’ — Ojibwa saying

As Zen scholar Alan Watts observes, language and grammar come with the built-in capacity to conceptualize LOCAL actions and developments, obscuring our NONLOCAL reality.

As soon as one sees that separate things are fictitious, it becomes obvious that nonexistent things cannot “perform” actions. The difficulty is that most languages are arranged so that actions (verbs) have to be set in motion by things (nouns), and we forget that rules of grammar are not necessarily rules, or patterns, of nature. This, which is nothing more than a convention of grammar, is also responsible for (or, better, “goes with”) absurd puzzles as to how spirit governs matter, or mind moves body. How can a noun, which is by definition not action, lead to action?”—Alan Watts, ‘Book on the Taboo Against Knowing Who You Are’

That is, a ‘DUNING’ is not something put together by participating sand-grains, IT IS A NONLOCAL RESONANCE PHENOMENON that is inherently ‘relational’ and there is nothing LOCAL about RESONANCE PHENOMENA, other that when WESTERN CULTURE ADHERENTS use the DOUBLE ERROR of NAMING and GRAMMAR to impose NAMING-based LOCAL BEING, and GRAMMAR-based notional powers of SOURCING actions and developments on ‘it’ (the elusive “form” we impose NAMING on so that its NAME LOCALLY PERSISTS in that place where some continually transforming flow-forming is manifest, as in the ‘whirling whorl’ in the bend of the stream which may take on ‘LOCAL thing-in-itself stutus’ if we NAME it ‘the Devil’s Hole’).

Are you are still the same KATRINA storming that we identified and NAMED yesterday?  … because if you were really, instead, a fluid gathering and scattering forming in the transforming fluid continuum that is ‘visually presenting’ as a persisting form, like the whirlpool in the river-bend during flood season, … then it would be a mistake to impute to you, your own LOCAL BEING with LOCAL POWERS OF SOURCING ACTIONS AND DEVELOPMENTS, as it is so easy to do with the DOUBLE ERROR of NAMING and GRAMMAR; e.g. ‘Katrina is growing larger and stronger and is digging out a huge hole in the riverbank’

Here we have the AMBIGUITY that comes with the DOUBLE ERROR where we impute LOCAL BEING to a flow-form in the flow, … but is the flow-form stirring up the flow or is the flow stirring up the flow-form?.

Please grab a piece of paper and a string before we fall into the rabbit-hole and attach a note to your finger that says REALITY is NONLOCALITY.

The DOUBLE ERROR  WORLD of the NAMING-INSTANTIATED LOCAL BEINGS with their own LOCAL GRAMMAR-INSTANTATED POWERS OF SOURCING ACTIONS AND DEVELOPMENTS is the duly authorized and declared REAL WORLD of us WESTERN CULTURE ADHERENTS.  It is an abstraction based world that lives only in our abstracting mind..

One thing about this DOUBLE ERROR story-telling, it is a lot shorter and easier to share than trying to explain what is going on in the world by going back to atmosphere, precipitation and erosion and arguing over whether it was the raging rivers that carved out holes in the slopes and formed canyons  or whether the valleys seduced the rain to runoff until all the little rivulets banded together to form a raging pulsing torrent which sourced the carving out of the canyons.  The female valley can be subtly seductive but once it attracts the attention of disorganized male rivulets and organizes them by giving them a ‘target’, the consolidated male energies can build exponentially and then we say it is the male that is ploughing out the furrow.  What subtle ambiguous deception on the part of the gentle syncline that seductively hatched this organizing which manifests as the masculine asserting self, but we are not fooled and the word is out that we must; ‘Cherchez la Femme’.  Or at the very least, consider the TWO and the ONE message of Mircea Eliade in ‘Mephistopheles et l’Androgyne’ (‘N.B. “The TWO and the ONE” is the dumbed down English title).

One thing we know for sure, particularly in he COVID 19 era, … TRANSFORMATION IS HAPPENING; i.e. we are included in a TRANSFORMING RELATIONAL CONTINUUM aka ‘the Wave-field’ aka ‘the Tao’ aka ‘the Logos’.

This is where the NONLOCAL comes in and that which is NONLOCAL is INEFFABLE which means that if we want to talk about it, we won’t be able to DIRECTLY talk about it, but will have to dance around it and allude to it by way of some sort of oblique or IMPLICIT INFERENCE

According to modern physics, material spheres in the overall emergy field are actually ‘lower energy developments’ within a higher energy field so that ‘the things that are visible to us, are forms that are relative emptinesses or low energy density bubbles within a higher energy density overall field.

This ‘fits’ with NONLOCALITY as where resonances in the field manifest, for example, as DUNING which we can’t ‘really’ explain in LOCAL terms of ‘DUNES’ but which is what the DOUBLE ERROR of NAMING and GRAMMAR lets us do, and as soon as we do it, we lose touch with NONLOCAL TRANSFORMATION by falling into that Alice in Wonderland world of make-believe LOCAL things-in-themselves, notionally with their own powers of LOCALLY SOURCING actions and developments.

The price of  BREAKING INTO THE INEFFABLE BECAUSE NONLOCAL so as to give ourselves an abstract foothold for LOCAL and thus EFFABLE articulation of reality or some surrogate but EFFABLE pseudo-reality is AMBIGUITY since because FIGURE and GROUND are ONE as in DUNING and DESERTING, once we break out ‘the DUNE’ with the DOUBLE ERROR of NAMING and GRAMMAR, and equip it with its own powers of SOURCING actions and developments (e.g. we say; “the Dune is growing higher and longer and is shifting towards the coast”’), …  we leave the desert-that-is-NOT-DUNE to ‘fend for itself’ like the loose sheet in the wind in sailing.  There is the opening of a Pandora’s box of amibiguity here akin to speaking of cultivating the land without mentioning the conjugate ‘shrinking’ of the Wildereness’.  That is, if the DUNE Is growing higher and longer, the DESERT must otherwise be getting lower and flatter.  Taken together, we might more appropriately be speaking in the NONLOCAL terms of TRANSFORMATION that manifests as DUNING.  Yet ‘the DUNE’ its with the WESTERN archetype of the HUMAN and the FIGURE-and-GROUND-as-TWO logic rather than the EASTERN archetype of the HUMANING in the TRANSFORMING RELATIONAL CONTINUUM as fits with FIGURE-and-GROUND-as ONE.

Meanwhile, our experience is of inclusion in NONLOCAL transformation but that is INEFFABLE, and the DOUBLE ERROR of NAMING and GRAMMAR (Dunes are growing higher and longer and are shifting across the DESERT), while it succeeds in coming up with an EFFABLE surrogate in ‘the DUNE’ by way of the DOUBLE ERROR, … opens the door to ambiguity in that by making the DUNE out to be a thing-in-itself-with-its own powers of sourcing actions and development, … we have implicitly done the same to the DESERT which we notionally SPLIT THE DUNE out of, like taking one of Adam’s ribs to make EVE, or vice versa since the DUNE seems to fit the role of Adam’s rib while the DESERT without the DUNE now has a hole in it that needs to be filled in.  .

OK, the DOUBLE ERROR got us our wish, we are NOW in a world there everything is EFFABLE because LOCAL and we have GRAMMAR that imputes to these LOCAL things their own powers of SOURCING actions and developments, but now that we have fallen down the rabbit hole, how do we get back out again?

Evidently, we have to STOP TALKING and restore-to-its-natural-primacy our SENSORY EXPERIENCING of inclusion in the transforming relational continuum.  As Wittgenstein says in his final proposition in Tractatus Logico-Philosophicus;

“7. Whereof one cannot speak, thereof one must be silent.” (“Wovon man nicht sprechen kann, darüber muss man schweigen”), — Wittgenstein – Tractatus Logico-Philosophicus

The point of this discussion is that REALITY as an all-including transforming relational continuum is INEFFABLE-because-NONLOCAL so that in order to EFFABLE-ize it, which translates into LOCALIZING it and installing SOURCING power in it, we invent the combination of NAMING and GRAMMAR

The Tao that can be told is not the eternal Tao.
The name that can be named is not the eternal name.
The nameless is the beginning of heaven and earth.
The named is the mother of ten thousand things.
Ever desireless, one can see the mystery.
Ever desiring, one can see the manifestations.
These two spring from the same source but differ in name;

The message is that we have this INTERPLAY between the EFFABLE and the INEFFABLE as in the ‘DOUBLE ERROR of NAMING and GRAMMAR.

The DOUBLE ERROR takes us ‘down the rabbit hole’ into a world of LOCAL NAMING instantiated things-in-themselves with GRAMMAR given powers of SOURCING actions and developments.  This ‘trip’ can be very helpful by way of IMPLYING a NONLOCAL reality which lies beyond the reach of a notional world of  LOCAL NAMING-instantiated SOURCERERs of actions and developments.

While modern physics, indigenous aboriginal cultures, Taoism, Buddhism and Advaita Vedanta do not ‘forget’ to make the ‘return trip’ from this land of inference, by letting it trigger the intuiting of the INEFFABLE-because-NONLOCAL that lies beyond reach of the EFFABLE-because-LOCAL, the WEST has settled for a reality based on the EFFABLE-because-LOCAL.   In this case, FIGURE and GROUND are TWO, and this unleashes an innate ambiguity as to whether the FIGURE is sourcing changes in the GROUND or the GROUND is sourcing changes in the FIGURE.  This unresolvable ambiguity (based on belief in LOCAL SOURCING’ rather than TRANSFORMATION) divides WESTERN CULTURE ADHERENTS into ‘conservatives’ and ‘liberals’.  While conservatives believe that the dynamics of the individual sources the dynamics of the social collective, the liberals believe that the dynamics of the social collective source the dynamics of the individual.  Both believe that the individual can be the LOCAL source of either laudable, reward-meriting actions and developments OR contemptible, punishment-meriting actions and developments. (the sense of NONLOCAL TRANSFORMATION has thus ‘gone missing’.

This ambiguous BIPOLAR DISORDER is resolved where one understands, as in modern physics and the EAST, that there is no such things as ‘SOURCIING’ (it is an artifact of the DOUBLE ERROR) and that the reality of our sensory experience is relational TRANSFORMATION wherein FIGURE and GROUND are ONE.  In this case,the BINARY SPLITTING of the WEST falls away and is subsumed by TRANSFORMATION involving relational resonance (harmony and dissonance) as in the EAST and modern physics..


FOOTNOTE: BIPOLAR DISORDER in the above-described context is inherent in WESTERN CULTURE “NORMALITY” in that this ‘NORMALITY’ splits the social collective into ‘conservative’ and ‘liberal’ on the basis of common belief in ‘the LOCAL SOURCING of actions and developments (the conservative believes that the ‘root source’ of local sourcing is the individual while the liberal believes that the ‘root source’ of local sourcing is the social collective’.  [The modern physics, indigenous aboriginal cultures, Taoism/Buddhism and Advaita Vedanta understanding is that there is no LOCAL SOURCING, only relational TRANSFORMATION].

The WESTERN CULTURE clinical term ‘BIPOLAR DISORDER’ refers NOT to the BIPOLAR DISORDER that is incipient in WESTERN CULTURE “NORMALITY”), but to the condition that becomes manifest in 2-5 percent of WESTERN CULTURE ADHERENTS who are the sensitive ‘miner’s canaries’ that give their psyches up to the healing of the SPLIT that characterizes WESTERN CULTURE BIPOLAR DISORDERED NORMALITY.

READ THIS PROLOGUE FIRST:  Life can be seen as inclusion in a relational matrix such as inclusion in a crowd at a football game.  Caught in the press of the crowd, one may be pushed up against another, a man’s body against a woman’s thigh.  The friction may lead to an erection and perhaps to involuntary ejaculation leaving moistened trousers and moistened skirt.


While this dynamic may be inherently NONLOCAL in its RELATION and thus INEFFABLE, our WESTERN CULTURE approach to constructing reality is by way of the DOUBLE ERROR of language and grammar which serves to render LOCAL-ergo-EFFABLE that which is NONLOCAL-ergo-INEFFABLE.


 The FIRST ERROR in our DOUBLE ERROR is NAMING to impute LOCAL thing-in-itself being (e.g. ‘that MAN’) while the SECOND ERROR is GRAMMAR that conflates the FIRST ERROR by notionally endowing ‘that Man’ with the powers of SOURCING actions and developments (One may substitute LOCAL for NONLOCAL by saying; ‘He pressed against the lady and ejaculated on her’). 


Here we have the familiar WESTERN CULTURE ‘SUBJECT-OBJECT’ structure (in this case; the ‘perpetrator-victim’) binary logic structure; a building block for WESTERN CULTURE reality constructions. Thanks to this DOUBLE ERROR we are able to substitute that which is EFFABLE-because-LOCAL for that which is INEFFABLE-because-NONLOCAL.  A WESTERN FAREWELL to the Naturally IMPLICIT and uncertain, and WELCOME to the Intellectually EXPLICIT and CERTAIN.


Whether in the press of the football crowd that sends the woman on the balcony over the rail to her death, or in the fender-bender following the long chain of freeway braking and swerving from the rabbit’s sudden road-crossing, the DOUBLE ERROR of NAMING and GRAMMAR facilitates the substituting of a LOCAL perpetrator-victim reality for the NONLOCAL reality, This reality SUBSTITUTES the EFFABLE-because-LOCAL for the INEFFABLE-because-NONLOCAL, and while this serves the valuable purpose of opening the way for employing language based discussion of a substitute LOCAL REALITY, this intellectual LOCAL REALITY is NO LONGER THE REAL REALITY of our sensory experience which is NONLOCAL.  In Lao Tzu’s words, ‘The Tao that can be told is not the true Tao’.

The problem here is the WESTERN CULTURE ADHERING penchant for ‘letting this DOUBLE ERROR tool (of language and grammar based reduction of the NONLOCAL to the LOCAL) run away with the workman, the human with the divine“.  Whether the perpetrator is John Wilkes Booth and the victim is Lincoln, as in Bohm’s example, or the perpetrator of a fender-bending crash into the victim who braked for the dog, the DOUBLE ERROR based notion of LOCAL SOURCING is simply that; a DOUBLE ERROR since LOCAL sourcing of actions and developments does not exist in reality. Reality is inherently INEFFABLE-because-NONLOCAL.  NAMING and GRAMMAR FABRICATES the abstract ILLUSION of LOCAL actions and developments to serve as an EFFABLE SUBSTITUTE REALITY: — the Tao that can be told that is not the true Tao (i.e. not the true INEFFABLE-because-NONLOCAL REALITY).

The above anecdote-as-prologue was to illustrate the fact that we’ve got two choices of reality;


The reality choice of the EAST and modern physics is NONLOCAL TRANSFORMATION wherein ‘everything is in relational flux’; i.e. the INEFFABLE reality (where ‘the Tao that can be told is not the true Tao’).


The reality of the WEST is the EFFABLE reality of ‘the DOUBLE ERROR of NAMING and GRAMMAR based LOCAL SOURCING of actions and developments that we use to divide the world up into NATIONS with notional LOCAL powers of sourcing actions and developments and INDIVIDUAL PEOPLE with notional LOCAL powers of sourcing actions and developments and CORPORATIONS with notional LOCAL powers of sourcing actions and developments, and whatever else we want to fill in the DOUBLE ERROR blanks with, such as COVID 19,  pneumonia, fire or hurricane.   Not more relational TRANSFORMATION


We WESTERN CULTURE ADHERENTS have preferred to understand the dynamics of reality as being LOCALLY SOURCED since the abstraction of LOCAL SOURCING is where EFFABLE expression comes from.  The reality of modern physics and the EAST is NONLOCAL TRANSFORMATION which is INEFFABLE, so we have to understand it intuitively by way of our sensory experience of being included in it and we can’t capture it directly in LOCAL and EXPLICIT language constructions..


In the EASTERN CULTURE reality, we are relational forms in the NONLOCAL Wave-field dynamic where the natural ‘ethic’ is to cultivate relational movement to sustain RELATIONAL balance and harmony.


In the WESTERN CULTURE reality, we see ourselves as LOCAL things-in-ourselves with our own (GRAMMAR-given) powers of SOURCING actions and developments where the ‘ethic’ is to encourage the LOCAL SOURCING of ‘beneficial’ actions and developments and to ELIMINATE the LOCAL SOURCING of ‘destructive’ (pathogenic) actions and developments.


Well, we are currently  included in a COVID 19 Pandemic and what it is doing to us is NOT PROJECTABLE on the local TV screens and their NEWS reporting since that stuff is all about ‘voyeur visible views’ of ‘what is going on out there’ that is ‘picturable’.


TRANSFORMATION is a NONLOCAL dynamic that we are INCLUDED in and we can’t see it ‘out there in front of us’, but we can feel it in our sensory relations with one another and in our ‘distancing’ of those relations.


The EAST has long accepted that reality is inclusion in the NONLOCAL relational phenomenon of TRANSFORMATION, but we WESTERN CULTURE ADHERENTS have made EGO with its LOCAL powers of sourcing actions and developments our reality-securing stake-in-the-ground and the United States appears to have become the bastion of EGO-based reality which imputes the LOCAL power of sourcing actions and developments (good and/or bad) to NAMING-instantiated ‘things-in-themselves’ with GRAMMAR-given (notional) powers of SOURCING actions and developments.  For example, if a group brags about being the LOCAL SOURCE of GOOD/CONSTRUCTIVE actions and developments, then this imputing of LOCAL SOURCING as a real dynamic must be consistently deployed to explain BAD/DESTRUCTIVE actions and developments, as also coming from a LOCAL SOURCE.  Once the power of the LOCAL SOURCING agent is established as an explanation for GOOD/PRODUCTIVE actions and developments, the notional LOCAL SOURCING AGENT becomes a ‘sitting duck’ for the attributing of BAD/DESTRUCTIVE actions and developments.  In other words, the abstract schema of LOCAL SOURCING AGENCY, in its surrogate role of substituting for the NONLOCAL harmony and dissonance of relational TRANSFORMATION is forced, by logical consistency, to come out as strongly and negatively in pointing to a LOCAL SOURCE of destructive actions and developments, as in coming out strongly and positively in pointing to a LOCAL SOURCE of constructive actions and developments.  That is, once the concept of LOCAL SOURCING is set in concrete, logic demands consistency in the treatment of purported CONSTRUCTIVE and DESTRUCTIVE LOCAL SOURCING of actions and developments.


Once the concept of LOCAL SOURCING is made foundational to ‘reality construction’ (bypassing the relational understanding in terms of TRANSFORMATION) logical consistency demands a balanced approach in the attributing of CONSTRUCTIVE SOURCING and DESTRUCTIVE SOURCING.  Those who are ‘most generous’ with attributions of CONSTRUCTIVE SOURCING must therefore be equally generous with attributions of DESTRUCTIVE SOURCING.  NOTA BENE: NONLOCAL relational HARMONY/DISSONANCE is no longer in the picture once the concept of LOCAL SOURCING is in place.

For those cultures such as indigenous aboriginals, Taoists/Buddhists and Advaita Vedanta, that understanding emergent reality as deriving from an unending matrix of relational influences, as in modern physics Wave-fields and as in ‘the Tao’, … there is no way, based on sensory experience, to pin down the LOCAL SOURCE of any unfolding dynamic, but in language, there is the DOUBLE ERROR of NAMING and GRAMMAR which abstractly achieves such LOCAL pinpointing of a SOURCE of actions and developments.


The whole problem here (in WESTERN reality construction) is the assumption of LOCAL SOURCING instead of NONLOCAL TRANSFORMATION.


It is hard to imagine WE WESTERN CULTURE ADHERENTS biting the bullet and admitting that all our talk about GROWTH is BULLSHIT and admitting that the GROWTH of cultivated land is, at the same time, the SHRINKAGE of Wilderness, which taken on the whole, is neither GROWTH nor SHRINKAGE but TRANSFORMATION.


If ever there was an opportunity for us WESTERN CULTURE ADHERENTS for shifting out of our DOUBLE ERROR reality stance based on NAMING to create LOCAL BEINGS (nations, humans, corporations) with notional LOCAL powers of SOURCING actions and developments (including continents that source their own drifting and seafloors that source their own spreading), …  and instead accepting NONLOCAL TRANSFORMATION as the primary reality, in spite of its INEFFABLE-because-NONLOCAL nature, … the time of such opportunity seems to be NOW.


Come on WEST, let’s summon up a bit of humility and confess that EAST was right all the time, that reality is TRANSFORMATION that we are included in, and as modern physics reaffirms, the problem for the WEST has been that ordinary language is not capable of directly conveying NONLOCALITY;

Meanwhile, David Peat describes, in Blackfoot Physics, how David Bohm set out to architect a language to overcome the DUMBING DOWN of NONLOCALITY (flow-based reality) built into standard European languages;

What is needed, Bohm argued in his book Wholeness and the Implicate Order, is a new sort of language, one based on processes and activity, transformation and change, rather than on the interactions of stable objects. Bohm called this hypothetical language the “rheomode.” It is based primarily on verbs and on grammatical structures deriving from verbs. Such a language, Bohm argued, is perfectly adapted to a reality of enfolding and unfolding matter and thought.

 David Bohm had not known when he wrote of that concept that such a language is not just a physicist’s hypothesis. It actually exists. The language of the Algonquin peoples was developed by the ancestors specifically to deal with subtle matters of reality, society, thought, and spirituality.

 A few months before his death, Bohm met with a number of Algonkian speakers and was struck by the perfect bridge between their language and worldview and his own exploratory philosophy. What to Bohm had been major breakthroughs in human thought — quantum theory, relativity, his implicate order and rheomode – were part of the everyday life and speech of the Blackfoot, Mic Maq, Cree and Ojibwaj.” – F. Where we are at right now in the COVID 19 era, is that current events are screaming out to us that NONLOCAL  TRANSFORMATION is the basic reality of our actual sensory experience, and all the while we keep pointing our finger at an alleged PATHOGEN, COVID 19, and claiming that that is the problem.  Such a superficial assessment is coming straight from our inflated EGO archetype (which secures the abstract concept of LOCAL SOURCING) and after having chosen a way of modeling REALITY based on the DOUBLE ERROR that imputes the power of LOCAL SOURCING of actions and developments to NAMING-instantiated things-in-themselves, logical consistency is demanding that we use this same “LOCAL SOURCING’ agenda to explain COVID 19 rather than finally accepting that we are living in a TRANSFORMING relational continuum that requires a very different kind of language;

Rather than suffering a notional attack by pathogens, we are experiencing inclusion in TRANSFORMATION which is NONLOCAL and IMPLICIT where what is going on is clearly NOT about a battle between constructive forms called HUMANS and destructive forms called COVID 19.


For the EAST, TRANSFORMATION has long been the primary reality rather than DOUBLE ERROR constituted by NAMING-instantiated beings with GRAMMAR-instantiated powers of SOURCING actions and developments.


Please, let’s desist all our talk of ECONOMIC GROWTH while putting on the blinders and intuition dampers that hold us back from acknowledging that TRANSFORMATION is all she wrote and there is no such thing as GROWTH, an abstraction that lives in an abstract Euclidian space of infinite extent wherein FIGURE and GROUND are TWO  (allowing the FIGURE to GROW independently of the GROUND as with ‘the purported GROWTH of cultivated agricultural land) rather than ONE (acknowledging that the GROWTH of cultivated bland is CONJUGATE with the SHRINKAGE of Wilderness land such that ‘GROWTH’ on its own is abstraction that is untenable in the real world of our sensory experience).


The primary obstacle standing in the way of our coming to our senses and accepting TRANSFORMATION as reality, is our DOUBLE ERROR based emotion of EGO as is triggered by NAMING that creates the LOCAL ‘stake-in-the-ground’ that serves as a stub on which to mount GRAMMAR-given powers of SOURCING actions and developments.
