Modern physics supports the understanding of reality of the EAST.

 

The simplest way of describing this difference between reality as understood in the EAST from reality understood in the WEST, that I can find, is the following;

 

EAST:   the EAST employs the BOTH/AND logic of the included medium.  In other words, if I am using my EAST mindset, I will understand ‘FIGURE’ and ‘GROUND’ as ONE.

 

WEST: the WEST employs the EITHER/OR logic of the excluded medium.  In other words, if I am using my WEST mindset, I will understand ‘FIGURE’ and ‘GROUND’ as TWO separate and independent things.

 

EXAMPLE:  the ‘duning’ in the ‘desert’ seen  in terms of FIGURE AND GROUND.  This example is to illustrate how we can see the relationship between FIGURE and GROUND according to the BOTH/AND logic of the EAST versus the EITHER/OR logic of the WEST.

 

 

EAST: Duning is a NONLOCAL dynamic (resonance phenomenon) that has NO LOCAL sourcing agency.  Nonlocal phenomena include the dynamics of iron filings that come together in the NONLOCAL influence of a magnetic field.

WEST: The ‘dune’ is a LOCAL phenomenon (material dynamic) wherein grammar imputes to ‘the dune’, its own LOCAL sourcing agency; “The dune is growing larger and longer and shifting to the south”.

 

 

EAST: the FIGURE in the GROUND is one means of understanding ‘humanings’.  The ‘ing’ suffix indicates that the humaning is an included dynamic FIGURE within the transforming relational GROUND.

WEST: the ‘human’ is a FIGURE in the GROUND as understood as an INHABITANT in the HABITAT.  There is no ‘ing’ suffix on ‘human’ here because the ‘human’ is understood as a separately existing ‘thing-in-itself’ whose actions and development are understood as locally instantiated.

One can see in this, the ‘double error’ of language and grammar cited by Nietzsche; the first error is to use ‘naming’ to impute ‘thing-in-itself existence’ and to conflate this with a second error of grammar, to impute to the name-instantiated thing-in-itself (first error) the notional power of sourcing action and development (second error).

 

 

DISCUSSION OF THIS EAST – WEST COGNITIVE SPLIT IN THE FIGURE-GROUND BASICS OF ‘REALITY’.

 

Adherents of modern physics understanding a la David Bohm, Schroedinger, Nietzsche, Wittgenstein, consistent with indigenous aboriginal cultures, Taoism/Buddhism and Advaita Vedanta, understand reality in terms of FIGURE and GROUND seen in terms of BOTH/AND logic of the included medium.  In this understanding, the ‘humaning’ is an APPEARANCE in the all including WAVE-FIELD, like the ‘boil’ in the ‘tidal-flow’ where the ‘boil’ is ‘appearance’ that does not have its own separate ‘existence’ from the flow it ‘appears’ in.

 

CONTRAST THIS WITH THE LOGIC OF THE EXCLUDED MEDIUM where the boil and the flow are understood as each having their own separate ontic thing-in-itself existence.  THINKING THIS WAY IS THE ‘DOUBLE ERROR’ OF LANGUAGE AND GRAMMAR and it is abstraction that leads to an innate ambiguity; DOES THE BOIL STIR UP THE FLOW, OR DOES THE FLOW STIR UP THE BOIL?

 

This is the age-old double error based paradox that crops up in the Zen koan of ‘wind-and-flag’ and many other such double error based paradoxes; i.e. ‘does the flapping of the flag source turbulence in the air, or does turbulence in the air source flapping of the flag?

 

There is no ‘right’ answer to this question as to whether wind or flag is sourcing the motion.  WHY?  Because the question is bogus.  There is no such thing as LOCAL SOURCING in the reality of inclusion within a transforming relational continuum aka ‘the Tao’ aka ‘the wave-field’.  FIGURE AND GROUND ARE ONE, NOT TWO!

 

Our sensory awareness informs us of our inclusion in the world (the transforming relational continuum) while our visual perception, obtained from two eye-sensors on one side of our head, SYNTHETICALLY splits apart IN THE INTELLECT, the observed object ‘out there’ from the observing subject ‘in here’.  This abstract splitting apart of subject and object feeds into the ‘double error’ of language and grammar. However, the reality, as ascertained in modern physics is that THERE IS NO SUBJECT-OBJECT SPLIT!

WHY HAS ‘THE WEST’ BEEN SO PRODUCTIVE AND INVENTIVE IF THE WEST HAS A SCREWED UP FIGURE-SPLIT-APART-FROM-GROUND UNDERSTANDING OF REALITY?

 

The ‘success’ of the culture of the WEST has been in the WEST’s own ABSTRACT TERMS OF PRODUCER-PRODUCT.   In the reality of our actual sensory experience there is only our inclusion in the transforming relational continuum, THERE ARE NO PRODUCER-PRODUCT DYNAMICS.

 

DID WESTERN CULTURES NOT CONSTRUCT, IN PRODUCER-PRODUCT FASHION, WONDERFUL NEW CITIES WITH ABUNDANT MODERN CONVENIENCES?

 

NO, THEY DID NOT!  SUCH AN IMPRESSION IS BASED IN THE ‘DOUBLE ERROR’ OF LANGUAGE AND GRAMMAR.  In the reality of our actual sensory experience, there is only our inclusion within the transforming relational continuum, so our HUMAN ACHIEVEMENTS must be understood in terms of our influence within the transforming relational continuum.   THE NOTION OF HUMANITY’S PRODUCER-PRODUCT CONSTRUCTION OF A CITY IS ILLUSION based on intellectual impressions stimulated by the double error of language and grammar.  The PHYSICAL REALITY of our sensory experience is of inclusion in the transforming relational continuum, and yes, just as we can be included in the flow of traffic in the busy freeway, we have RELATIONAL INFLUENCE within a dynamic that is beyond our control.

 

WE HAVE NO ACTIONS AND DEVELOPMENTS THAT ARISE FULLY AND SOLELY FROM OUR ‘SELF’; THAT NOTION IS SIMPLY TRIGGERED IN OUR MIND BY THE ‘DOUBLE ERROR’ OF LANGUAGE AND GRAMMAR (THE DOUBLE ERROR: … the first error is‘naming’ to impute local thing-in-itself being’ and the second error is ‘grammar’ to impute the power of sourcing actions and development to the name-instantiated ‘local thing-in-itself’).

 

WHY DO WE DO THIS DOUBLE ERROR THING?

 

The reality we are included in (the Tao, aka the wave-field) is ineffable because it is NONLOCAL INFLUENCE as pervades the space-time-continuum.  The tool of language and grammar BREAKS THE INEFFABILITY BARRIER ASSOCIATED WITH NONLOCALITY.    FOR EXAMPLE, BY REDUCING THE NONLOCAL (RESONANCE) PHENOMENON  OF DUNING TO LOCAL PHENOMENA IN TERMS OF DUNES AND ‘THEIR’ ACTIONS’, WE REMOVE THE INEFFABILITY BARRIER.

 

BUT ARE WE NOT SCREWING WITH ‘REALITY’ WHEN WE REDUCE THE RESONANCE PHENOMENON OF ‘DUNING’ BY WAY OF THE DOUBLE ERROR, TO ‘DUNES’, notional things-in-themselves with their own powers of growing and shifting?   YES WE ARE.  But what we gain is the overcoming of the barrier of ineffability that associates with NONLOCAL PHENOMENA.   Instead of the nonlocal phenomenon of ‘duning’, we can, with the double error reduction, speak and share accounts of ‘what is going on’ in LOCAL (albeit ‘double error’) terms of ‘DUNES’ that we purport (thanks to grammar) with ‘their own’ powers of growing and moving.

 

We use the double error language and grammar treatment GENERALLY on flow features in the Tao (wave-field) such as ‘humanings’, setting them up by naming them as LOCAL THINGS-IN-THEMSELVES WITH THEIR OWN POWERS OF SOURCING ACTIONS AND DEVELOPMENTS.  THAT IS; WE USE THE DOUBLE ERROR OF LANGUAGE AND GRAMMAR TO SELECT FORMS IN THE FLOW, PULL THEM OUT AS IF THEY WERE THINGS-IN-THEMSELVES AND RE-ANIMATE THEM WITH GRAMMAR; e.g. the purely relational features in the flow such as ‘duning’ and ‘humaning’ can be, thanks to the double error of language and grammar, re-rendered in the intellectually abstracting mind, as local name-instantiated things-in-themselves with garammar-instantiated powers of sourcing their own behaviour and development.

 

THE GOOD NEWS:

 

The double error of language and grammar equips us to break down the ineffability barrier that associates with the REAL reality of our inclusion in the transforming relational continuum wherein phenomena are NONLOCAL.

 

THE NOT SO GOOD NEWS:

 

As Emerson points out, this double error reduction of ineffable to effable technique of language and grammar has, in our Western culture, become a ‘tool that has run away with the workman, the human with the divine’.  In other words, the double error reduction IS A REDUCTION and performs a very valuable job in rendering the ineffable (a reduced version thereof) ‘effable’.  BUT it is only capable of ‘inferring’ what lies innately beyond the reach of the explicit.  One has to make a mental leap beyond the double error reduction BUT THAT IS THE PROBLEM THAT EMERSON IS POINTING TO; I.E. WESTERN CULTURE ADHERENTS ARE IN THE HABIT OF USING THE DOUBLE ERROR REDUCTION AS THE ‘OPERATIVE REALITY’.  Wittgenstein describes how logical propositions are just a jumping off point or ‘springboard’ to non-explicitly articulable understanding.

 

 

6.54 My propositions are elucidatory in this way: he who understands me finally recognizes them as senseless, when he has climbed out through them, on them, over them. (He must so to speak throw away the ladder, after he has climbed up on it.

THE DAMAGE DONE BY THE WESTERN HABIT OF EMPLOYING THE REDUCED REALITY AS ‘REALITY’

 

The erroneous belief in the ‘reality’ of the producer-product model is the source of ‘ego’ and thus ‘ego-inflation’ and ‘ego-deflation’ depending on how one’s ‘producer-product achievements’ are perceived by oneself and by the social collective one is situationally included in.

 

NOTE THAT THE DOUBLE ERROR RENDERS THE INEFFABLE-NONLOCAL EFFABLE-LOCAL BUT WITHIN A ‘REDUCED REALITY’.  For example, ‘duning’ is a nonlocal resonance phenomenon (ineffable) which is reduced to effable by the ‘double error’ of naming; i.e. ‘the dune’ which imputes  LOCAL independent thing-in-itself existence (first error) conflated with grammar that imputes the power of sourcing actions and development (second error) to the name-instantiated thing-in-itself..

 

This double error reduces the NONLOCAL dynamic of ‘duning’ to the LOCAL dynamic of the dune that grows taller and longer and shifts across the desert floor.  We couldn’t say anything explicit (local) about the NONLOCAL resonance phenomenon of ‘duning’, but we can say something once we reduce the NONLOCAL phenomenon to LOCAL phenomena by way of the double error of language and grammar.  That is, we use the double error to reduce the ineffable to something effable; i.e. ‘duning’ (nonlocal resonance phenomena to LOCAL ‘dunes’ that have the locally incipient power of developing and shifting.

 

HOW MUCH DO WE LOSE by using language and grammar to reduce NONLOCAL ‘duning’ to double error based terms of ‘dunes’ with notional powers of sourcing actions and development?     How much do we lose by using language and grammar to reduce NONLOCAL ‘humaning’ to double error based terms of ‘humans’ with notional powers of sourcing actions and developments?

 

IF WE ONLY USE THE DOUBLE ERROR REDUCTION AS INFERENCE AND NOT AS AN OPERABLE REALITY, AS IN THE EAST, WE ARE OK.  BUT IF WE USE THE DOUBLE ERROR REDUCTION AS OUR OPERATIVE REALITY, WE ARE IN TROUBLE.  This problem is what Emerson is referring to in the mistake of ‘letting the (double error) tool run away with the workman, the human with the divine’.  That is, the double error of language and grammar lets us reduce the ineffable to a (reduced effable) as with duning (NONLOCAL RESONANCE) reduced to ‘dunes’ notionally (grammatically endowed) with their own powers of sourcing actions and developments.

 

WE DON’T LOSE ANYTHING IF WE SIMPLY USE THE DOUBLE ERROR AS A TOOL OF INFERENCE AND DON’T LET IT HIJACK OUR RESONANCE INFORMED INTUITION OF INCLUSION IN THE WAVE-FIELD (THE TAO, AKA THE TRANSFORMING RELATIONAL CONTINUUM).

 

BUT OUR WESTERN CULTURE HABIT IS TO LET THE DOUBLE ERROR TOOL, WHICH IS ONLY GOOD FOR INFERENCE, ‘TAKE OVER’ AND SERVE AS THE OPERATIVE REALITY.

HOW IS IT THAT WESTERN CULTURE HAS ACHIEVED SO MUCH IN SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY BASED DEVELOPMENTS IS IT IS CONFUSING FOR REALITY ITS OWN DOUBLE ERROR BASED REDUCTIONS?

 

Are these ‘developments’ REAL?

 

NO, THEY ARE NOT ‘REAL’.  For example, the modern village we build in the valley with all the modern Western accoutrements of the hydroelectric power plant, superhighways, high rise office buildings and apartments etc. etc. ARE NOT REAL THINGS-IN-THEMSELVES, …they are included in the transforming relational continuum.  The point is that there is no such thing as LOCAL developments in a transforming relational continuum.

 

LOCALITY IS AN ABSTRACT CONCEPT WE IMPOSE THROUGH THE DOUBLE ERROR OF LANGUAGE AND GRAMMAR.  From the NONLOCALITY of resonance as manifests as ‘duning’, we use the double error of language and grammar to reduce this to terms of THE DUNE, a notional LOCAL, INDEPENDENTLY-EXISTING THING-IN-ITSELF WITH NOTIONAL(grammar given) POWERS OF GROWING AND SHIFTING.

 

CONFUSING?  Trying to use this particularly European language and grammar to try and discuss NONLOCALITY is like trying to bite one’s own nose.  This here language and grammar I am using doesn’t have the needed dimensionality.  That is why Bohm saw the need for inventing a more capable language architecture which he called RHEOMODE, and then discovered that indigenous aboriginal languages had the capability that modern physics articulations were in need of.

THE BIG SELF-DECEPTION WHERE WE SEE OURSELVES AS ‘SORCERERS’: WHY THE WEST ‘LOOKS GOOD’

 

The ‘producer-product’ concept is double-error based self-deception that gives rise to ego, the ego of name-instantiated things in-themselves with notional powers of sourcing actions and developments: COULD BE GOOD OR COULD BE BAD, COULD LEAD TO EGO-INFLATION OR EGO-DEFLATION.

 

THINK ABOUT IT!  If our understanding is ‘from the WEST’ we see ourselves as LOCAL jumpstart thing-s-in-ourselves sorcerers of actions and developments.  If our understanding is ‘from the EAST’, we see ourselves as relational forms in the transforming relational continuum as implied by ‘mitakuye oyasin’.

 

THAT IS, THINK OF ALL THE WONDERFUL THING THAT HUMANS HAVE CREATED LIKE RAILWAYS, AUTOMOBILES, AIRCRAFT, COMPUTERS, WHICH EXTEND OUR PRODUCER-PRODUCT CAPABILITIES.

 

WHAT’S THAT YOU SAY, … THAT THIS IS ALL PRODUCER-PRODUCT BULLSHIT! IT IS NOT REAL!

 

YES, THAT’S RIGHT.  We can’t have it ‘both ways’; i.e. if we are included in a transforming relational continuum, who we are is ineffable because we are inclusions in the continuum which means that we are inherently NONLOCAL, as is the case with boils in flow where the boils are APPEARANCES as in the quantum BOTH/AND logic of the included medium rather than the boils having their own ONTOLOGICAL independent existence.

 

ARE WE ‘LOCAL’ OR ARE WE ‘NONLOCAL’?

 

ANSWER: MODERN PHYSICS SHOWS THAT WE ARE ‘NONLOCAL’.  THERE ARE NO ‘LOCAL SOURCES OF ACTION AND DEVELOPMENT’.  THE ABSTRACT CONCEPT OF LOCAL SOURCING OF ACTION AND DEVELOPMEN IS THE DOUBLE ERROR OF LANGUAGE AND GRAMMAR AS NIETZSCHE POINTS OUT.

 

CONCLUSIONS:

 

WESTERN CULTURE ‘REALITY’ IS BASED ON DOUBLE ERROR REDUCTION TO NAME-INSTANTIATED ‘LOCAL THINGS-IN-THEMSELVES’ WITH NOTIONAL POWERS OF SOURCING ACTIONS AND DEVELOPMENTS.  This is essentially a method of abstractly constructing a PSEUDO-REALITY based on SORCERY …. INSTEAD OF …. TRANSFORMATION.  The introducing of name-instantiated things-in-themselves with notional powers of sourcing actions and developments, that we know as ‘human beings’, ‘nations’ and ‘corporations’ provides a new jumpstart base for the sourcing of actions and developments.

 

ONLY IN THE INTELLECTUAL ABSTRACTION COOKED UP DOUBLE ERROR OF LANGUAGE AND GRAMMAR do these ‘things-in-themselves with powers of sourcing actions and developments’ EXIST.  In other words, ‘HUMANS’, ‘NATIONS’, ‘CORORATIONS’ EXIST only in our intellectual machinations, THEY DO NOT EXIST IN OUR SENSORY EXPERIENCE OF INCLUSION IN THE TRANSFORMING RELATIONAL CONTINUUM.

 

The ‘producer-product’ pseudo-reality gives rise to our depictions of new things-in-themselves such as ships and buildings that we ‘Christen’ with a baptismal ritual such as the opening or smashing of a bottle of Champagne.  IN THE REALITY OF OUR ACTUAL EXPERIENCE OF INCLUSION IN THE TRANSFORMING RELATIONAL CONTINUUM, THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS ‘THE BIRTH’ OF SOMETHING NEW, WHETHER A HUMAN, A SHIP, A NATION OR A CORPORATION.  ‘BIRTH’ IS AN ABSTRACT CONCEPT THAT IS IMPLIED BY ‘NAMING’.  IF WE DON’T NAME AN IMMERGING FORM IN THE TRANSFORMING RELATIONAL CONTINUUM, IT DOES NOT BECOME A THING-IN-ITSELF.  ONLY WHEN WE NAME A HURRICANCE CAN WE BEGIN TO SPEAK OF IT IN THE DOUBLE ERROR TERMS OF A THING-IN-ITSELF WITH ITS OWN POWERS OF SOURCING ACTIONS AND DEVELOPMENTS (e.g. ‘the hurricane named Katrina is growing larger and stronger and is ravaging New Orleans’).

 

In other words, by ‘naming’ a relational form in the flow, we set it up for ‘double error treatment’ wherein we employ language and grammar to reduce NONLOCAL to LOCAL, as in Nietzsche’s example of ‘lightning lashes’ which RECAST THE NONLOCAL IN LOCAL TERMS by way of the DOUBLE ERROR;

 

 “Our judgement has us conclude that every change must have an author”;–but this conclusion is already mythology: it separates that which effects from the effecting. If I say “lightning flashes,” I have posited the flash once as an activity and a second time as a subject, and thus added to the event a being that is not one with the event but is rather fixed, “is” and does not “become.”–To regard an event as an “effecting,” and this as being, that is the double error, or interpretation, of which we are guilty.” – Nietzsche, ‘Will to Power’, 531

 

In this manner, we use language and grammar to render the ineffable NONLOCAL in effable LOCAL terms.  We do this by using ‘naming’ to invent ‘being’ which we push underneath phenomena so as to make it appear as if there is a LOCAL BEING that is responsible for ACTION AND DEVELOPMENT.

 

“In its origin language belongs in the age of the most rudimentary form of psychology. We enter a realm of crude fetishism when we summon before consciousness the basic presuppositions of the metaphysics of language, in plain talk, the presuppositions of reason. Everywhere it sees a doer and doing; it believes in will as the cause; it believes in the ego, in the ego as being, in the ego as substance, and it projects this faith in the ego-substance upon all things–only thereby does it first create the concept of “thing.” Everywhere “being” is projected by thought, pushed underneath, as the cause; the concept of being follows, and is a derivative of, the concept of ego. This use of the double error to PUSH BEING UNDERNEATH AND MAKING IT OUT TO BE THE CAUSE OF ACTION AND DEVELOPMENT is the standard ‘reality constructing technique’ of Western culture adherents.

 

WE USE THE DOUBLE ERROR TO SAY THAT THE CITY ON THE HILL IS GROWING LARGER AND IS PRODUCTING MORE PRODUCTS which gives the impression of a JUMPSTART producer-product operation, BUT THE REALITY IS INSTEAD, RELATIONAL TRANSFORMATION.

 

THE ERRORS ARE AS FOLLOWS;

 

-1- THE NAME ‘CITY’ IMPLIES THE EXISTENCE OF A THNG-IN-ITSELF WITH ITS OWN POWERS OF SOURCING ACTIONS AND DEVELOPMENTS …. THAT DOES NOT EXIST.  There is only the transforming relational continuum which is NONLOCAL and INEFFABLE.  Nevertheless, there is activity within the transforming relational continuum as with the boil in the flow.  This is part of the manifest ‘appearance’ of the transforming relational continuum (the Tao, the wave-field).

 

-2- The ‘double error’ of language and grammar instantiates relational features in the flow; i.e. ‘the city’  and imputes to them their own powers of action and development/growth, and we use these abstractions to construct a ‘pseudo-reality’ wherein we speak of the ‘birth’ and ‘historical growth and development’ of ‘the city’.   We give the city its own ‘ego’ and we use the ‘double error’ to do the same for other name-instantiated abstract ‘things-in-themselves’ such as ‘nations’ and ‘corporations’ etc.

Ok, THE REALITY REMAINS THE TRANSFORMING RELATIONAL CONTINUUM.

 

HAVE YOU EVER SEEN A CITY ON THE HILL WHOSE BEING AND GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT COULD BE KNOWN ‘IN ITS OWN LOCALLY EXISTING RIGHT’ INDEPENDENT OF THE TRANSFORMING RELATIONAL CONTINUUM IT IS INCLUDED IN?   IMPOSSIBLE!

 

-3- THE BOSS, so we say, is an independent being sitting in the ‘driver’s seat’ of an ‘independent business machine’ who is responsible for the production of products and services and for the growth of its production of products and services.

-4- If I say that the Baker is going to bake me a dozen doughnuts for tomorrow morning and he does, is this not the same sort of LOCAL-izing contrivance as in Bohm’s example of John Wilkes Booth and the death of Lincoln?  Reality is a NONLOCAL dynamic that includes the planting and watering of the grain for the flour to make the doughnuts and raising of sugar cane for making the glaze etc.  The problem is that NONLOCAL reality is ineffable, so using language and grammar to ‘localize’ the NONLOCAL IS NECESSARY IN ORDER TO DELIVER AN EFFABLE IMPRESSION OF THE INEFFABLE.

 

PROBLEM:  The reality of our actual sensory experience of inclusion in the transforming relational continuum (the Tao, the wave-field, the NONLOCAL) is the primary reality but it is INEFFABLE.   The reduction of the NONLOCAL to the LOCAL-in-space-and-time, renders the ineffable effable.  But our  reduced-to-effable reality is based only on INFERENCE and NO LONGER HAS THE FISH OF REALITY IN THE NET. Hence, Wittgenstein’s final two propositions in Tractatus Logico-Philosophicus;

CLOSING COMMENT:

Language and grammar is incapable of conveying the reality of our experience of NONLOCAL inclusion in the transforming relational continuum; i.e. language and grammar can only be used to INFER a reality that lies intrinsically beyond its understanding-carrying-capability.

 

EAST: Duning is a NONLOCAL dynamic (resonance phenomenon) that has NO LOCAL sourcing agency.  In the EAST, talk of ‘dunes’  is an expedient that is only to INFER the reality of the TAO that is NONLOCAL and lies beyond explicit articulation.  The EAST uses allusions to the LOCAL only as tools of inference to infer the NONLOCAL  ‘Mitakuye oyasin’ means ‘we are all related’ in the sense of BOTH/AND logic of the included medium.

WEST: Talk of ‘duning’ in terms of ‘the ‘dune’ is understood as a LOCAL phenomenon (material dynamic) wherein grammar imputes to ‘the dune’, its own LOCAL sourcing agency; E.g. “the dune is growing larger and longer and shifting to the south”.  The WEST has adopted the double error based reduction to LOCAL as the ‘operative reality’.  References to ‘self’ and ‘other’, ‘subject’ and ‘object’, and ‘inhabitant’ and ‘habitat’ are understood in terms of the EITHER/OR logic of the excluded medium.

 

Modern physics supports the understanding of the EAST.

The ‘great scientific and engineering achievements’ of the WEST are understood within a ‘producer-product’ (double error) context and are thus like the construction of the city (the name-city instantiated thing-in-itself with powers of actions and development).

In the reality of our actual sensory experience (without invoking the intellectual abstraction of the double error), there is only a ‘citying’ within the NONLOCAL transforming relational continuum, as is also the case with ‘duning’ and ‘humaning’.

For the time being, EAST REMAINS EAST AND WEST REMAINS WEST which means that in the WEST, the ‘names’;  ‘city’, ‘dune’ and ‘human’ continue to be popularly understood in the double error terms of LOCAL, independently-existing things-in-themselves notionally with their own powers of sourcing actions and developments.

Problems are continually arising in the WEST from using LOCAL definitions not simply as a means of INFERRING NONLOCALITY, but to construct pseudo LOCAL REALITIES and employing them as ‘operative realities’, making us forgetful of the reality of our sensory experience of inclusion in the NONLOCALITY (the Tao, the ONE wave-field).

This Heraclitean adage reminds us that in order to speak about NONLOCAL reality, which is without limit and thus impossible to capture with language, we must use language that reduces the NONLOCAl to the pseudo-LOCAL.   Thus, we reduce NONLOCAL resonances such as ‘duning’ to ‘dunes’, re-mobilizing our reductions ON THEIR OWN by using the double error of language and grammar; e.g. ‘the dune by the escarpment is growing larger and shifting across the desert floor’.   THIS REDUCTION OF THE NONLOCAL TO THE LOCAL BY WAY OF THE ‘DOUBLE ERROR’ SETS THE STAGE FOR CONSTRUCTING A PSEUDO-REALITY THAT IS IN TERMS OF LOCAL THINGS-IN-THEMSELVES NOTIONALLY WITH THEIR OWN POWERS OF SOURCING ACTIONS AND DEVELOPMENTS.

Such LOCAL/EFFABLE ‘pseudo-realities’ wherein ‘dunes’ substitute for ‘duning’  (where LOCAL/EFFABLE is used to infer NONLOCAL/INEFFABLE) are used merely to INFER REALITY THAT IS INNATELY INEFFABLE in the EAST while in the WEST, such LOCAL ‘pseudo-realities’ are employed as the ‘ACTUAL, OPERATIVE REALITY’.   So, … just as the NONLOCAL ‘duning’ can be reduced to the LOCAL ‘dune’ and INTELLECTUALLY remobilized with grammar, so can the NONLOCAL ‘humaning’ be reduced to the LOCAL ‘human’ and INTELLECTUALLY remobilized with grammar.  This ‘effable-izing (LOCAL-izing) of the ineffable NONLOCAL which is used as a tool to infer the ineffable reality in the EAST, … is in the WEST used as the ‘operative reality’, redefining reality in effable (LOCAL, EXPLICIT) terms.  This is the ‘crazy-maker’ that plagues the WEST.  The ‘great producer-product achievements of the WEST are measured in LOCAL, EXPLICIT terms; i.e. in a surrogate intellectual pseudo-reality that is no longer grounded in the transforming relational continuum (the Tao, the Wave-field).  Language and grammar give us an understanding of the construction of a new town in the valley, but our sensory experience, which is of inclusion in the transforming relational continuum, is ineffable.

The ineffable reality does not deserve to play second fiddle to the effable reality simply because of the limitations of language.  Passing over the search for inarticulable answers (due to the limitations of language) and moving on to search for answers which are articulable, is like the drunk looking under the streetlight for something he lost on an unlit stretch of the street ‘because the search conditions’ are better there.  This is the defining difference between WEST and EAST; i.e. the EAST accepts the ineffable nature of wave-field reality, while the WEST pursues a Sisyphusian struggle to extract understanding of the ineffable from reductions of NONLOCAL to the LOCAL which render the ineffable effable, but not without an essential loss of understanding.

Our language and grammar ‘dressing up’ of the LOCAL ‘dune’ via the ‘double error’ of language and grammar is innately incapable of recovering the NONLOCAL ESSENCE of ‘duning’ since ‘duning’ is immanent in the Tao, as is ‘humaning’.  In this case, figure and ground are ONE as in the BOTH/AND logic of the included medium.  WESTERN EITHER/OR logic of the excluded medium can deal with the Tao once chopped down into effable LOCAL pieces, but NONLOCALITY as in wavefield resonance ‘goes missing’ in the process.

While WEST is defined by its willingness to ‘take the hit’ in embracing the LOCAL and EXPLICIT as the fullblown ‘reality’, and limp along without the NONLOCAL and IMPLICIT (ineffable), the EAST is defined by its use of reductions to the LOCAL and EXPLICIT only as tools of inference, thus preserving the NONLOCAL and IMPLICIT (ineffable) as the ‘primary reality’.

The WEST, in using the LOCAL and EXPLICIT as its primary ‘operative’ reality, cultivates belief in the double error ‘producer-product’ dynamic which is the source of ego along with ‘pride’ (ego-inflation) and ‘shame’ (ego-deflation).  The belief in producer-product dynamics ECLIPSES the understanding of reality in terms of the transforming relational continuum in which we all share inclusion.

EXAMPLE: anthropogenic global warming is exemplary of the ego based double error and the abstract EITHER/OR logic of the excluded medium wherein the INHABITANTS are seen as separate from the HABITAT, thus opening the way to the possibility that the INHABITANTS can source change in the HABITAT and/or the HABITAT can source change in the INHABITANTS.  This is the intellectual conundrum as in the Zen wind-and-flag paradox (i.e. Does the moving air move the flag or does the moving flag move the air?   This paradox is NOT RESOLVABLE but neither is it real since there is no such thing as ‘sourcing’ aka ‘sorcery’, there is only relational transformation.  Once again, we are smitten with the ‘double error’ of language and grammar which is where the concept of ‘sorcery’ comes from.  Because the WEST has developed social systems of rewards and punishments based on belief in the producer-product dynamic, such belief is ‘locked in by high switching costs’; i.e. Western social values and Western social hierarchy have been based on attributing producer-product agency to humans as name-instantiated things-in-themselves.  In a transforming relational continuum, there are no ‘things-in-themselves’ and there is thus no producer-product agency.

BELIEF IN PRODUCER-PRODUCT IS THE SOURCE OF A ‘DOUBLE WHAMMY’; i.e. as systems scientist pioneer Kenneth Boulding observed; ‘The Name of the Devil is Suboptimization’.  WHAT DOES THIS IMPLY?

It points to the fact that the concept of an ‘independent producer-product system’ like an ‘independent producer-product nation’ is abstraction that becomes a ‘delusion’ when we take it for real and let it shape our relational social dynamic.  Since everything is related (‘mitakuye oyasin’), our WESTERN notion of optimizing an ‘independent nation’ is delusional.  It is like robbing Peter to pay Paul when Peter and Paul are NOT INDEPENDENTLY EXISTING THINGS-IN-THEMSELVES but relational dynamics within a transforming relational continuum as in the case of ‘duning’ rather than ‘dunes’.  RECALL THAT IT IS ONLY THE DOUBLE ERROR OF LANGUAGE AND GRAMMAR THAT IMPUTES INDEPENDENT BEING AND POWERS OF SORCERY TO RELATIONAL FORMS IN THE FLOW.  This WESTERN producer-product based optimization is in reality ‘suboptimimization’ that exalts the robbers of Peter (the “more able competitor”) and demeans the victimized Paul (the “less able competitor”).  This psychological aberration is the result of WEST’s embracing of the EITHER/OR logic of the excluded medium in contrast to the EAST’s embracing of the BOTH/AND logic of the included medium.  This DOUBLE ERROR DELUSION is the ‘crazy-maker’ bundled into the culture of the WEST.
