The CULTURE-SHAPING IMPACT of LANGUAGE based on INTEGRATION vis a vis DIFFERENTIATION
PREFACE: INTEGRATION and DIFFERENTIATION are not a reversible duo. Western Culture LANGUAGE, by leading off with Differentiation, DROPS OUT the FEMALE ACCOMMODATING CONJUGATE of WAVE-FIELD REALITY and proceeds with one-sided MALE ASSERTING ONLY REPRESENTATIONS of a SIMPLIFIED SUBSTITUTE REALITY where the HOLE left by the DROPPING OUT of the FEMALE ACCOMMODATING CONJUGATE is INFILLED with ABSOLUTE EMPTY AND INFINITE SPACE. The DROP OUT of the FEMALE ACCOMMODATING CONJUGATE opens the way for SIMPLIFIED BINARY LOGIC based REPRESENTATION based on the duo of NAMING-based ABSOLUTE MATERIAL BEINGS with GRAMMAR-given POWERS of LOCAL AUTHORING and DEVELOPMENT. The DROP OUT of the FEMALE ACCOMMODATING ‘CONTAINER’ leads to WESTERN CULTURE LANGUAGE based REPRESENTATIONS of a SUBSTITUTE REALITY featuring MALE ASSERTING FRAGMENTS.

LANGUAGE is a CULTURE-SHAPING TECHNOLOGY.
There is a distinct difference in CULTURE-SHAPING INFLUENCE where INTEGRATION is given PRECEDENCE over DIFFERENTIATION, as contrasted with the CULTURE-SHAPING INFLUENCE where DIFFERENTIATION is given PRECEDENCE over INTEGRATION.
As in Indigenous aboriginal lesson-giving stories such as “My Father and the Lima Beans”, a PERSON can be understood in LOCAL and EXPLICIT DIFFERENTIATING terms as a ‘thing-in-herself’… as in ‘Five-foot-Two, eyes are blue’ etc. ALTERNATIVELY, a PERSON can be understood in NONLOCAL and IMPLICIT INTEGRATIVE terms as a contributor to the QUALITY of the RELATIONAL MATRIX she is included in. The ‘Lima Beans’ story brings out how a person, even though harshly judged in a DIFFERENTIATING ASSESSMENT where we analyze her LOCAL, EXPLICIT physical attributes, may ‘show up’ as having qualities that make a valuable contribution to the ‘relational matrix’ (community dynamic etc.) she is included in. An example, as in the ‘Lima Beans’ allegory would be the woman who is lazy and unhelpful in physical interactions but whose beautiful singing lifts the spirts of those around her.
DIFFERENTIATION is based on an inventory of LOCAL, EXPLICIT, PHYSICAL CONTRIBUTIONS that are in terms of WHAT SHE DOES, … FAIL to capture an inventory of NONLOCAL, IMPLICIT, INSPIRATIONAL CONTRIBUTIONS wherein she transforming the QUALITY of the NONLOCAL and IMPLICIT AMBIANCE, as in the example of her exercising of her beautiful vocal gifts which is an INFLUENCE that is MEASURABLE by INTEGRATING her influence on her surroundings as in ‘raising the spirits of the social collectives in which she finds herself included. “DIFFERENTIATION” is a scheme akin to understanding an insect by taking it apart, pulling off while counting and describing its legs and wings and other body parts. Similarly, we can get to know a TOWN by its streets and avenues and buildings and the products and services offered by these components.
INTEGRATION is based on the SUM of the NONLOGIC, IMPLICIT and SPIRIT-IMPACTING influences on is immersed in, which includes the more intangible influences such as the warmth of the sun, the freshness of a cool breeze, the melodic waves of the singer or musician, all of which ADD UP in their CONTRIBUTION to the quality of PLACE and the quality of PLACE is impacted by musicians and artists who share inclusion in a common place so that one could assess any individual on the SUM of these TWO VERY DIFFERENT ASSESSMENT APPROACHES of INTEGRATION where we assess INFLUENCES that are NONLOCAL and IMPLICIT (relational) and DIFFERENTIATION where we assess PROPERTIES that are LOCAL and EXPLICIT.
If we introduced a new person into our community, as in the story My Father and the Lima Beans’, we could assess that person on the basis of;
DIFFERENTIATION is associated with PHYSICAL DIFFERENCE MAKING and the related actions and developments, … those attributes Nietzsche describes as coming from the DOUBLE ERROR of NAMING and GRAMMAR such as how many shovels of gravel one loads into the cement mixer, or how many rows of beans one hoes to remove weeds, or how many buckets of water one transports from the well to the garden. These actions MAKE A TANGIBLE DIFFERENCE or in other words a LOCAL and EXPLICIT difference that is captured in a DIFFERENTIATION based assessment.
INTEGRATION is associated with RELATIONAL DIFFERENCE MAKING as with the singing of a song that draws a social collective into a common mood, such as a loving or compassionate mood that BRINGS PEOPLE TOGETHER in a sense similar to RESONANCE as might bring dust particles on a vibrating drum-head together or sand-grains in a sandstorm together in an aesthetic ‘sea’ of dunings. In this case, the resonance based forms seemed to precede the material embodying, so that the characterization by way of DIFFERENTIATION would fail to capture the essential NONLOCAL and IMPLICIT nature of the AUTHORING INFLUENCE.
UNDERSTANDING by way of DIFFERENTIATING “A DUNE” in the sand-sea and using the investigative approach of decomposition, we could develop an detailed understanding of the LOCAL, EXPLICIT MATERIAL STRUCTURE of ‘the DUNE’, in the same manner as we could do precise and explicit local physical measurements of ‘a girl’, so as to arrive at a highly accurate and complete understanding of physical structure. Here, we are taking things at ‘FACE VALUE’ and if we were going to assign a price to a girl to be sold at auction in a slave-market, the LOCAL, EXPLICIT, MATERIAL STRUCTURE would be the EVIDENCE that would be first on the list of properties that prospective buyers of the commodity would be looking for.
UNDERSTANDING by way of INTEGRATION is a DYNAMIC measure wherein we would look at ‘DUNING’ in the transforming landscape. In order to develop UNDERSTANDING in terms of INTEGRATION, we must see how the relational form transforms the relations in the collective it is introduced into. This CANNOT COME FROM THE DIFFERENTIATION based UNDERSTANDING since that explores the physical characteristics of a thing by drilling down and in to its notional local component parts. Like the girl with the “beautiful voice” this attribute that we tag with the label “beautiful voice” is not coming from our measurements of the girl as a thing-in-herself. Our measurements are instead coming from the social collective that is influence by her INTEGRATION within the social collective where we measure changes in the social collective associated with her INTEGRATION. This points to an entirely DIFFERENT form of VALUE ASSESSMENT by way of INTEGRATING the item in question into different COLLECTIVES and measuring changes in the DYNAMIC OF THE COLLECTIVE.
INTEGRATION based UNDERSTANDING differs fundamentally from DIFFERENTIATION based UNDERSTANDING.
DIFFERENTIATION based UNDERSTANDING builds on the assumed LOCAL EXPLICIT NATURE of a BEING-IN-ITSELF.
INTEGRATION based UNDERSTANDING builds on the assumed NONLOCAL IMPLICIT NATURE of RELATIONAL FLOW-FORM.
INTEGRATION can be used to develop UNDERSTAND of relation forms in the flow by way of relational influence where there is no assumption of LOCAL EXPLICIT THING-IN-ITSELFness and no need for DIFFERENTIATION based investigative techniques.
LANGUAGE is the representation technique that is used in conjunction with the very different investigative approaches of INTEGRATION and DIFFERENTIATION and the LANGUAGE ARCHITECTURE associated with INTEGRATION is very different from the LANGUAGE ARCHITECTURE which associates with DIFFERENTIATION. For example;
INTEGRATION informs our understanding of the thing by way of introducing it into a variety of different ‘environments’ and capturing the changes in the INTEGRATED situation, as with measuring the properties (mood etc.) of the social collective when integrating the girl with the beautiful singing voice.
What this measurement demonstrates generally, is that INTEGRATION offers us a means of UNDERSTANDING that goes beyond the understanding that we can derive from DIFFERENTIATION, and the reason for this is because DIFFERENTIATION orients to the ANALYTICAL where we start our understanding off by accepting the notional EXISTENCE of a THING-IN-ITSELF such as ‘a TOWN’ and we proceed to analyze and describe the TOWN, for example, in terms of its streets and avenues and buildings and other PHYSICAL ELEMENTS which we classify as COMPONENTS of a notional LOCAL BEING-IN-ITSELF, … AS IF WE COULD UNDERSTAND A THING IN ITS OWN LOCAL, EXPLICIT RIGHT, as if with ITS OWN POWERS OF GROWTH, DEVELOPMENT and PRODUCTION.
THIS IS WHAT WE GET ON THE PATH OF DIFFERENTIATION, this notion of a LOCAL THING-IN-ITSELF with its own MEANING.
INTEGRATION is a DIFFERENT FORM OF UNDERSTANDING wherein THERE ARE NO LOCAL EXPLICIT THINGS IN THEMSELVES AS IN DIFFERENTIATION. In INTEGRATION based UNDERSTANDING, we must open up the notion of WHOLENESS and IMPLICIT ORDER (as in Bohm’s Book by that name) which involves a LOGICAL SHIFT from the BINARY LOGIC used in DIFFERENTIATION to the QUANTUM LOGIC that we use in INTEGRATION.
Instead of ‘the TOWN’ as associates with our DIFFERENTIATION based approach to understanding, we have ‘TOWNING IN THE TRANSFORMING LANDSCAPE’ which is a shift from BINARY LOGIC to QUANTUM LOGIC as associates with the shift from DIFFERENTIATION to INTEGRATION where the MEANING OF AN INFLUENCE shifts from local sourcing and ‘draws on’ understanding from its relations with other things (e.g. where the response of the social collective to the girl’s beautiful voice provides a means of understanding and valuing the girl that is innately beyond any assessment of the girl herself and her DIFFERENT LOCAL physical attributes and qualities). It is the effect of INTEGRATING the girl within the appreciative social collective that is the OPERATIVE DYNAMIC here. The conceptualizing in terms of THE GIRL MAKING A DIFFERENCE is a one-sided MALE ASSERTING ONLY construction which drops out the FEMALE ACCOMMODATING WAVE-FIELD CONJUGATE.

The conceptualizing in terms of THE GIRL MAKING A DIFFERENCE is a one-sided MALE ASSERTING ONLY construction which drops out the FEMALE ACCOMMODATING WAVE-FIELD CONJUGATE constituted by the crowd response.
Which is to say that when we ‘UPGRADE’ our DIFFERENTIATING language that orients to the LOCAL and EXPLICIT ‘the TOWN and its GROWTH and DEVELOPMENT and PRODUCTION’ … to INTEGRATING language that orients to the NONLOCAL and IMPLICIT ‘there is TOWNING in the TRANSFORMING LANDSCAPE’, …we ‘LET GO OF’ the LOCAL and EXPLICIT, which ‘makes sense’ because there is no such thing as the LOCAL and EXPLICIT in the real world of our sense-experience of inclusion in the transforming relational continuum aka the WAVE-FIELD aka the Tao.
THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS ‘THE TOWN THAT IS GROWING, DEVELOPING and PRODUCING products’. That is LANGUAGE BASED ABSTRACTION that is making use of the abstraction of the DOUBLE (ABSTRACTION) ERROR of NAMING and GRAMMAR to convey the abstraction of “A LOCAL EXPLICIT THING’ (i.e. ‘the TOWN’) notionally with (here comes the SECOND ERROR) its own GRAMMAR-given POWERS OF LOCAL AUTHRORING OF GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT, as in ‘The TOWN is GROWING, DEVELOPING and PRODUCING goods and services’. NO ITS NOT! ‘IT’ IS NOT EVEN AN ‘IT’, meaning that in our sense-experience reality there is only TOWNING in the TRANSFORMING LANDSCAPE (i.e. transforming relational continuum) wherein EVERYTHING IS IN FLUX, or in indigenous aboriginal language, MITAKUYE OYASIN.
SUMMARY:
HERE COMES THE INTEGRATION/DIFFERENTIATION LANGUAGE ARCHITECTURE BIFURCATION WHICH IS BEHIND THE APHORISM “EAST IS EAST AND WEST IS WEST AND NEVER THE TWAIN SHALL MEET” (Rudyard Kipling)
Our understanding of TOWNING in the TRANSFORMING LANDSCAPE is like our understanding of the girl with the beautiful voice. We say “she “IS” a singer which makes it seem as if we can understand her as a local, explicit thing-in-herself with her own powers of authoring ‘singing’. But that is just the DOUBLE ERROR of LANGUAGE where we put together NAMING and GRAMMAR to impute LOCAL AUTHORING of actions and development, like the LOCAL ACTION of SINGING and the DEVELOPMENT of a FOLLOWING.
THIS IS NOT REALITY. SHE IS NOT THE LOCAL AUTHOR OF THE OOHING AND AWING OF THE SOCIAL COLLECTIVE since this crowd response constitutes NONLOCAL and IMPLICIT influence.
The shift in understanding from DIFFERENTIATION to INTEGRATION is where the MEANING OF AN INFLUENCE shifts from local sourcing and ‘draws on’ understanding from its relations with other things (e.g. where the response of the social collective to the girl’s beautiful voice provides a means of understanding and valuing the girl that is innately beyond any assessment of the girl herself and her DIFFERENT LOCAL physical attributes and qualities). It is the effect of INTEGRATING the girl within the appreciative social collective that is the OPERATIVE DYNAMIC here. The conceptualizing in terms of THE GIRL MAKING A DIFFERENCE is a one-sided MALE ASSERTING ONLY construction which drops out the FEMALE ACCOMMODATING WAVE-FIELD CONJUGATE constituted by the crowd response.
This simple example illustrates how the CHOICE of giving the foundational role in LANGUAGE ARCHITECTURE to INTEGRATION or to DIFFERENTIATION makes a fundamental difference to our understanding of REALITY.
This is, in fact, where what has been loosely cited as the EAST and WEST SPLIT originates, in the choice of LANGUAGE ARCHITECTURE between INTEGRATION based language and DIFFERENTIATION based language.
In the WESTERN CULTURE, we have opted for DIFFERENTIATION, where we BREAK INTO THE DYNAMIC CONTINUUM and use language to capture a LOCAL FRAGMENT of REALITY (note that FRAGMENT OF REALITY is an oxymoron). In order to achieve this extraction of a LOCAL FRAGMENT, we can only isolate the LOCAL, EXPLICIT MALE ASSERTING conjugate because the FEMALE ACCOMMODATING CONJUGATE IS NONLOCAL and IMPLICIT and can’t be captured in language with a LOCAL BEING based architecture such as our WESTERN CULTURE Common Average European Language architecture which is LOCAL BEING based. This reduction of reality by way of this SIMPLE LANGUAGE ARCHITECTURE that drops back to a one-sided MALE ASSERTING ACTION and DEVELOPMENT means that the DIFFERENTATION based language architecture is limited in a manner that the INTEGRATION based language architecture is not, and this limitation of DIFFERENTIATION to the one-sided MALE ASSERTING ONLY REPRESENTATION manifests its problematic shortfall as in the following example which shows how, because we limit our language based representation to DIFFERENTIATION (male asserting action and development only), we are unable to capture in language the physical effects of the nonlocal and implicit FEMALE ACCOMMODATING INFLUENCE ;
Jill Astbury raises questions in regard to the LOCAL AUTHORING assumption in ‘Crazy for You: The Making of Women’s Madness’ in her inquiry into the World Health Organization study showing that women have twice the incidence of ‘affective disorders’ (depression, bipolar disorder etc.) as men.
Astbury makes the point that psychological stress can manifest in an individual experiencing the stress of being in a group of differing others whose sensitivities may be lower and where the group may be cultivating an environment which is highly stressful so that a sensitive minority may manifest problems which are then assumed to be coming from defectiveness rather than sensitivity of a subset of the group. Research into ‘psychological illness’ will pull the patient out and study the patient and not the group, which thus may be ‘missing the point’ since the stress may be a ‘group based’ phenomenon;

As inclusions in the all-including WAVE-FIELD, we have the QUANTUM BOTH/AND logic capacities for understanding. QUANTUM LOGIC based understanding equips us for understanding NOT ONLY MALE ASSERTING but also FEMALE ACCOMMODATING. We may recall here that WESTERN CULTURE JUSTICE employs the THIN SKULL RULE because our WESTERN CULTURE Common Average European language IS NOT CAPABLE OF REPRESENTATIONS INVOLVING THE FEMALE ACCOMMODATING CONJUGATE, thus the MALE ASSERTING AGENT in the case of the THIN SKULL RULE, will be assessed FULL AND SOLE AUTHORING RESPONSIBILITY for a shattering of an eggshell skull associated with the MALE ASSERTING BLOW.
The FULL AND SOLE ATTRIBUTION of the damage is assigned to the MALE ASSERTING ACTION because of the DIFFERENTIATION based ARCHITECTURE of WESTERN CULTURE Common Average European Language representations. The FEMALE ACCOMMODATING CONJUGATE of WAVE-FIELD reality was DROPPED OUT so as to SIMPLIFY the CAE LANGUAGE ARCHITECTURE by constraining action to ONE-SIDED MALE ASSERTING ONLY actions and developments where we make statements such as ‘the TOWN IS GROWING, DEVELOPING and PRODUCING products, substituting ABSOLUTE EMPTY SPACE OF INFINITE EXTENT for the FEMALE ACCOMMODATING WAVE-FIELD CONJUGATE as would be captured if we were to mention the conjugate SHRINKING OF WILDERNESS that accompanies the ‘GROWTH OF THE TOWN’.
Whether it concerns the more accommodating eggshell skull whose collapse is beyond explanation in terms of the blow from the fist, or the more accommodating because more sensitive female (and/or sensitive male) who is twice as susceptible to psychological breakdown as the average male, … the message is that because of our WESTERN CULTURE LANGUAGE ARCHITECTURE, we only articulate actions and developments with one-sided MALE-ASSERTING REPRESENTATION, having DROPPED OUT THE FEMALE ACCOMMODATING WAVE-FIELD CONJUGATE and injected the abstract notion of ABSOLUTE EMPTY AND INFINITE SPACE in place of the FEMALE ACCOMMODATING CONJUGATE.
Our WESTERN CULTURE LINGUISTIC REALITY REPRESENTATIONS are thus reduced to one-sided MALE ASSERTING ONLY actions and developments. Our use of BINARY LOGIC in our language supports the removal of the FEMALE ACCOMODATING WAVE-FIELD CONJUGATE by substituting a notional ABSOLUTE EMPTY AND INFINITE SPACE, setting the (language) stage for our WESTERN CULTURE language based representations which are now NOT OF REALITY wherein our senses inform us of the WAVE-FIELD structure, but representations of a SUBSTITUTE REALITY constrained to one-sided MALE ASSERTING ONLY actions and developments.
FRAGMENTATION is one of the fall-outs of our having stripped out the FEMALE ACCOMMODATING CONJUGATE from our LANGUAGE ARCHITECTURE since by going only with one-sided MALE ASSERTING ACTIONS AND DEVELOPMENTS we are continually using DIFFERENTIATION to BREAK THINGS DOWN INTO PARTS such as TOWNS etc. and conceiving of them as being included in an ABSOLUTE EMPTY AND INFINITE SPACE which has not capability of INTEGRATION such as is inherent in the ANDROGYNOUS ‘CONJUGATE’ structure of the WAVE-FIELD dynamic.
This is where ‘we’ WESTERN CULTURE ADHERENTS and the social collectives we influence currently are, in a mode where we are using LANGUAGE that FRAGMENTS our REPRESENTATIONS of REALITY that we are using as our OPERATIVE REALITY. As Bohm has pointed out, this is the source of FRAGMENTATION, including SCHIZOPHRENIA and PARANOIA in our WESTERN CULTURE SOCIETY.
