Reason and History are the names for two types of BULLSHIT co-contributors to the dysfunction known as Western culture.

It is significant that modern physics endorses the basic understandings built into indigenous aboriginal cultures, Taoism/Buddhism and Advaita Vedanta, but NOT Western culture.

Western culture cultivates belief in ‘the double error’ of language and grammar which in turn plays a foundational role in both ‘reason’ and ‘history’.  Thus the leadoff statement identifying REASON and HISTORY as the names for two types of BULLSHIT.

These are not new findings, but they seem to slip away from Western culture adherents like water off a duck’s back.  First, just to cite a couple of complainants;

“In Reason’ in language!  ……..(Note how Nietzsche points to ‘being’ as the underpinning of ‘reason‘; i.e.  … “Being is thought into and insinuated into everything as ‘cause’; from the concept ‘ego,’ alone, can the concept ‘Being’ proceed.”……….– oh what a deceptive old witch it (reason) has been!  I fear we shall never be rid of God, so long as we still believe in grammar.” – Nietzsche, ‘Twilight of the Idols’

If you ponder these two comments a bit, I think you will find that they are pointing to the same’double error’ based flaw in Western thinking.

The ‘double error’ of language and grammar is where we use naming to impute thing-in-itself being (first error) to a relational form in the Tao (wave-field, transforming relational continuum).  The second error conflates the first and it is the imputing of the power of sourcing actions and development to the name-instantiated thing-in-itself (first error).

This ‘double error’ arose from the need to render the ineffable Tao effable.  That is, reality as the Tao or wave-field is an all encompassing energy field that is ‘the whole thing’, the whole ball of wax included planets, people, stars, suns, moons, you name it, and it is in constant transformation like one big swirling storm-system.  That’s why the Tao is ineffable, there is nothing local or explicit that is commonly familiar to our social collective (we are also included in the flow).  As Wittgenstein points out, ‘Of that which we cannot speak we must remain silent”.  This is the ineffable problem since ‘everything is in flux (Heraclitus).

As we know, we humans have, shall we say, … ‘overcome’ the ineffability problem!?  We seem to have no trouble talking about the world we live in these days.  OR IS WHAT WE ARE TALKING ABOUT, really and truly THE WORLD WE ARE LIVING IN?

Evidently NOT!  The real world remains the ineffable, all-including wave-field aka the Tao.

So what is it that we are ‘passing off as ‘reality’?  Of course, that’s where EAST and WEST split and (never the twain shall meet).  Modern physic has come down on the side of the EAST and the WEST (we western culture adherents) continue to BALK, preferring the traditional WESTERN understanding of the world as a vast emptiness locally populated by material things-in-themselves, including us ‘humans’.  The double error of language and grammar takes care of both casting forms as local, independently-existing things-in-themselves and endowing them with notional powers of sourcing actions and development.

In the reality of modern physics, indigenous aboriginal, Taoist/Buddhist and Advaita Vedanta cultures, everything is in flux, as in a wave-field which includes fluid forms that are included in the continuing relational transformation.

WE WESTERN CULTURE ADHERENTS HAVE NOT ‘LET GO’ OF OUR LONG-TIME ALLEGIANCE TO THE DOUBLE ERROR BASED REALITY.  Some may know about the flow-based view of reality of Bohm, Schroedinger, Nietzsche, Wittgenstein and others, but that is very different from switching to the flow-based reality to live one’s life, particularly when Western culture’s old assumptions are ‘locked in by high switching costs’ (imagine the switching costs!  The big egos faced with the collapse of the collapse of the double error notion of individual humans, nations, corporations as having the powers of sourcing actions and developments!   To say that ‘this is not going to happen overnight’ would be a gross under-exageration’.

Can you imagine a WESERN CULTURE social collective dropping belief in REASON and HISTORY?

Maybe on a ‘piecemeal’ basis as where some staunch Western culture adherent is told that when we employ the ‘double error’ based REASON that says that ‘the sand dunes are growing larger and are shifting to the East’, or likewise that ‘the hurricane is growing larger and shifting toward New Orleans, …  that the reality is REALLY a purely relational resonance phenomenon that is non-local in either space or time, … there may be an ‘ok, so what’.  But if we were to say that ‘you yourself are nonlocal in either space or time’; i.e. you too are a wavefield resonance feature that is nonlocal in space or time., … the answer may be; “But do I still get credit for purportedly sourcing actions and developments” as in my current high paying management job?   While the indigenous aboriginal may have no problem with this, the Western culture adherent may want to hold back on bringing in modern physics until he can get a lumpsum payout from his place of employment, … maybe in gold.

How long a lag for the shift to happen?  Depends who we are talking about; for indigenous aboriginals who have not lost their traditional beliefs, no lag to speak of;

For a typical Western culture adherent, wresting him from his Western culture belief set will likely be a case of ‘out of my cold, dead hands’, if he is on the top of the high achieving ‘sorcerer’ pack (double error benefittor pack).

Both HISTORY and REASON are BULLSHIT but among Western culture adherents, they have been fairly well-managed BULLSHIT so as to continue to cultivate a large percentage of supporters (indigenous aboriginals, Taoists, Buddhists and Advaita Vedanta adherents, not so much, although it is hard not to be a fellow traveller when such BULLSHIT is the official bullshit that one has to swear belief in and swear to bear arms and give one’s life to sustaing the BULLSHIT BELIEF SYSTEM, if called for.

In other words, the continuing support for the Western Culture double error based belief system and its supporting pillars of REASON and HISTORY, is enjoying what is called in nonliear dynamic; ‘LOCK-IN BY HIGH SWITCHING COSTS’.  Yes, it’s the same general lock-in principle that has kept that excuse for a computer operating system, Microsoft Windows, garning massive global support; i.e. too many dependencies on it that cost too much to re-engineer to switch to another system hold people back.

HOWEVER, … in the case of the Western double error based reality, …  continuing on, on a BULLSHIT BELIEF basis, has far more serious consequences since it has us using an ‘operative reality’ that is nothing like the reality of our actual sensory experience.  REASON and HISTORY are

One of the biggest ‘signals’ of the Western culture WHACKO belief in the double error based reality is the ‘anthropogenic global warming’ belief.  This is a DOUBLE ERROR BASED BELIEF and it has no ‘reality’ in the transforming relational continuum aka ‘the Tao’, … the actual physical reali;ty of our sensory experience.

Of course, this notion of anthropogenic powers of sorcery is otherwise known as ‘ego’ and as Nietzsche pointed out in the above cited quote, … ‘ego’ is playing a cornerstone role in this whole double error based aberrant mess.

We Western culture adherents are digging ourselves into a rather large and deep hole with our double error reality based beliefs.  For example, because we believe in the producer-product logic we believe that we are the source of global pollution and global warming.  This is delusional since there is no such thing as the ‘sourcing’ of actions and developments in a transforming relational continuum.  It is ‘ego’ that is locking us into the belief that we are the source of things; the producers of products and the producers of pollution.  The concept of ‘producer-product’ disappears with the acknowledging of relational transformation.    As inclusions within a transforming relational continuum our relative motions can cultivate harmony or dissonance, but we are NOT the SOURCE of anything.

Like drivers in a heavy traffic flow (eg. in an aerobatics team), all moves are relative and instead of a ‘correct’ or ‘incorrect’ move, there are only moves that cultivate harmony or dissonance.  We can put our slowing or accelerating or swerving left or right in the service of cultivating and sustaining relational harmony.  Jean Valjean’s ethic was such in moving a loaf of bread from where there was excess to where there was deficiency.  Such moves are not local and explicit but nonlocal and implicit.  They are ineffable, as also in the case of duning.

“Of that which we cannot speak, we must pass over in silence.” – Wittgenstein’s final proposition in Tractatus Logico Philosohicus.

My bottom line in all of this is that REASON and HISTORY are crazy-makers, by our continuing belief in both of them, we are cranking up the craziness in our Western culture adhering social collective.
