TRANSFORMATION OBVIATES PATHOGENS
(PANDEMIC: Sorcery based or Holodynamic?)
When the ambient conditions are right for an algae bloom or for a phenol phthalein solution to TRANSFORM from yellow to red the TRANSFORMATION is NONLOCAL.
Modern physics, wherein the Wave-field (the ambient condition) is the primary reality, informs us that NONLOCALITY is primary in our sensory experience of inclusion in the transforming relational continuum aka ‘Wave-field’ aka ‘the Tao’. In the fluid-flow of Wave-field, FIGURE and GROUND are ONE (i.e. INHABITANT AND HABITAT ARE ONE). This INEFFABLE topology is characteristic of holography (holodynamics). It is ineffable since figure and ground are in continual flux (TRANSFORMATION is the primary reality).
Classical physics and Western culture intellectual representation of reality is grounded in LOCALITY. As Nietzsche has pointed out, the abstract concept of LOCAL being and LOCAL sourcing of action is the abstract artifact of the DOUBLE ERROR of language and grammar; i.e. the FIRST ERROR is NAMING which imposes LOCAL THING-IN-ITSELF BEING on a visible relational form-in-the-flow-field, conflated with GRAMMAR that imputes the power of SOURCING actions and developments to the NAMING instantiated thing-in-itself.
This DOUBLE ERROR reduces the ineffable to effable (we can’t capture in fixed words a universe that is in continual flux but must ‘fix’ a relational form by labelling it and then we get what the ancients called the ‘burden of concreteness’ where we have to manage with words, its actions and developments.
The difference between our WESTERN culture and EASTERN cultures, branches out from the common practice of ‘effable-izing’ the ineffable in the DOUBLE ERROR manner. While the EAST employs the DOUBLE ERROR REDUCTION only as a method of INFERENCE; i.e. as a ‘Wittgenstein ladder’ or BOOTSTRAP (as in the ‘Surprise version of the game of Twenty Questions), the WEST employs the DOUBLE ERROR REDUCTION as the actual operative reality. Thus a duning (a resonance of wave-field phenomenon) that belongs to the transforming relational continuum we and everything are included in, … in the WEST becomes a ‘dune’ (first error) that we animate with grammar (‘the dune is growing larger and longer and is burying your jeep’). This DOUBLE ERROR reduction REDUCES what is in reality phenomena that we are included in, to abstract REPRESENTATION that is out there in front of our voyeur viewing eyes.
This DOUBLE ERROR enables the REDUCTION of the ineffable to something effable. The advantage of having even a crude reduction of the ineffable as effable is huge, and goes beyond the early grunts and whistles and yells etc. There is meanwhile the pitfall of confusing the reduced-to-effable language based representations that can only INFER the ineffable reality, ‘for reality’ rather than remembering that the ineffable remains the primary reality. This ‘forgetting’ is something that happens in the WEST that the EAST has largely avoided. In other words, indigenous aboriginal cultures, Taoism/Buddhism and Advaita Vedanta do not use language and grammar EXPLICITLY but use it IMPLICITLY as inference of the ineffable that lies beyond explicit capture in language and grammar.
For example, it is useful inference to say; “the dune is growing larger and longer and is shifting to the south” even though what is really going on is a RESONANCE (Wave-field) dynamic that is inherently NONLOCAL and thus ineffable. The trouble in the WEST is, as EMERSON has pointed out, the ‘tool has run away with the workman, the human with the divine’.
The EGO comes when we apply the DOUBLE ERROR reduction to OURSELVES, giving ourselves LOCAL INDEPENDENT BEING and POWERS OF SOURCING ACTIONS AND DEVELOPMENTS in our language and grammar REPRESENTATIONS and NOT using it just for inference of an ineffable reality that lies beyond it, but CONFUSING IT FOR REALITY.
The concept of PATHOGEN follows from Ego (BENOGEN), the latter establishing the DOUBLE ERROR pseudo-reality of LOCALLY INCIPIENT actions and developments and it makes use of the abstract FIGURE and GROUND DICHOTOMY whering FIGURE and GROUND are intellectually and grammatically SPLIT INTO TWO SEPARATE ENTITIES and each one is attributed the double error powers of sourcing actions and developments, inducing schizophrenia in us as we employ this abstraction. It is the source of the schizophrenia that manifests as the conservative – liberal political split, the former understanding ‘sorcery’ in a one-to-many sense, and the latter understanding ‘sorcery’ in a many-to-one sense, both of these political factions forgetting that there is no SORCERY in a TRANSFORMING RELATIONAL CONTINUUM, … ‘SORCERY’ (i.e. LOCAL SOURCING OF ACTIONS AND DEVELOPMENTS) is EGO-ARCHETYPE based abstraction.
The belief in SORCERY is secured in WESTERN CULTURE by a system of REWARDS and PUNISHMENTS which does not exist in EASTERN CULTURE where relational harmony is encouraged and relational dissonance discouraged. That is to say, in EASTERN CULTURE, the DOUBLE ERROR concept (of LOCAL SOURCING) is used only as effable INFERENCE of the ineffable-because-NONLOCAL.
Language and grammar representation facilitates INTELLECTUAL REDUCTION of NONLOCAL Wave-field (resonance) phenomena to LOCAL REPRESENTATION as in the NONLOCAL resonance phenomenon of DUNING, where we reduce this with language and grammar to LOCAL imagery with statements such as ‘the dune is growing larger and longer and is shifting to the south’.
This LOCALizing capability of the tool of language and grammar (with its DOUBLE ERROR reduction capability) enables an abstract re-rendering of the ineffable-because-NONLOCAL as a LOCAL phenomenon; thus NONLOCAL Wave-field RESONANCE as manifests in DUNING is, when we speak of it in DOUBLE ERROR reductionist terms, becomes ‘the LOCAL dune with its own powers of SOURCING actions and developments; i.e. ‘the dune is growing larger and longer and is shifting to the south’.
We do the same when we apply language and grammar to HUMANINGS in the holodynamic; e.g. ‘the human is growing taller and fatter and is moving to the south’. The understanding in terms of TRANSFORMATION; i.e. in terms of relational forms in a transforming relational continuum (‘the Tao’ aka the ‘Wavefield’) is LOST or WALLPAPERED OVER by the reduction of ‘HUMANINGS in the holodynamic to; ‘the human is growing taller and fatter and is moving to the south’.
The latter language and grammar reduced representation COULD BE EMPLOYED as a ‘Wittgenstein ladder’ to give an effable REDUCTION of the ineffable, amenable to sharing via language and grammar, or it COULD BE EMPLOYED LITERALLY AND EXPLICITLY AS A SUBSTITUTE REALITY, in which case LOCAL SORCERY is taken seriously and as a basis for REWARDS and PUNISHMENTS (WESTERN CULTURE) rather than as a convenient effable-izing ABSTRACT REDUCTION of the ineffable-because-NONLOCAL Wave-field phenomena, as in the example of DUNING as resonance with its dynamic relational flow-formings which are, in reality, innately NONLOCAL phenomena (and thus ineffable).
The WESTERN CRAZY-MAKING starts with the effable-izing of ONESELF by way of the double error which gives rise to EGO along with delusions of having LOCAL POWERS OF SOURCING ACTIONS AND DEVELOPMENTS, which the EAST employs not as REALITY, but as a tool of INFERENCE that points to (alludes to) the ‘real’ but INEFFABLE reality. For example, there is no such thing as a LOCAL DUNE, there is only NONLOCAL DUNING as in a reality understood as relational TRANSFORMATION; i.e. are reality that is ineffable.
HOW THIS CONFUSING OF EFFABLE FOR INEFFABLE IS A CRAZY-MAKER
The BENOGEN – PATHOGEN or HERO-VILLAIN dichotomy (backed up by REWARDS and PUNISHMENTS) is an example of how we employ language and grammar to LOCALIZE (and thus ‘effable-ize) the NONLOCAL (ineffable).
Why is the perceived AUTHOR (SORCERER) of a ‘heroic act’ so often ‘modest’ about ‘his feat of bravery’? The answer is because our most basic and natural sensory experience is of inclusion in the flow of things (‘the Tao’, ‘the Wavefield’) where the sustaining of relational harmony and balance is ‘built into us’ as it is ‘built into all of Nature aka the Wave-field aka the Tao). To suggest that our act was Heroic, implies that our act was LOCALLY SOURCED from within our SELF seen in the DOUBLE ERROR terms of language and grammar as a LOCAL thing-in-itself with our own powers of SOURCING actions and developments. Instead (“in reality”) NONLOCALITY prevails as in relational TRANSFORMATION and the sustaining of relational harmony is an all-permeating influence or resonance based ‘field’.
Western culture human EGO sets up the abstract (language and grammar based) SPLIT between FIGURE and GROUND by imputing powers of LOCAL SOURCING of actions and developments to the FIGURE.
Since grammar isn’t cognizant of how it is being used, a conflicting ambiguity arises where we employ the GROUND as the LOCAL SOURCING agency, hence the unresolvable ‘koan’ of whether the movement of the air is sourcing the movement of the flag or whether the movement of the flag is sourcing the movement of the air. The answer is; THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS ‘SOURCING’, THERE IS ONLY REATIONAL TRANSFORMATION. “SOURCING” is a double error based language and grammar contrivance used to effable-ize the ineffable-because-NONLOCAL reality of the all-included Wave-field. It is good in that it allows us to effable-ize, in a crudely-reduced representation, the ineffable, so that we can share these reduced symbolic allusions to the ineffable AND LET THE RECIPIENT MAKE THE INTUITIVE LEAP TO THE INEFFABLE-BECAUSE-NONLOCAL, as constitutes the all-including Wave-field reality. The EASTERN CULTURES haven’t forgotten that they need to make the intuitive leap, while WESTERN CULTURE is characterized by making direct and explicit use of the DOUBLE ERROR reductions as if they were DIRECT REPRESENTATIONS OF REALITY. That is, ‘duning’ and ‘humaning’ are Wave-field phenomena; i.e. relational forms in a TRANSFORMING relational (Wave-field) continuum.
WESTERN CULTURE EGO, as Emerson points out and Nietzsche reaffirms, is letting ‘the tool run away with the workman’ so that we WESTERN CULTURE ADHERENTS are in the CRAZY-MAKING habit of understanding OURSELVES in DOUBLE ERROR terms, as NAMING-instantiated LOCAL things-in-ourselves, notionally with ‘our own powers’ of SOURCING actions and developments. This is where ‘the tool runs away with the workman’ and the result is EGO based LITERAL belief in the DOUBLE ERROR. This is where DUNING as a purely relational and NONLOCAL resonance phenomenon becomes, in WESTERN DOUBLE-ERROR based pseudo-reality, reduced to LOCAL thing-in-itself (DUNE) independent existence, and is equipped by GRAMMAR with its own powers of SOURCING actions and development.
The EAST takes such constructions as tools of INFERENCE of the INEFFABLE while the WEST takes such constructions as the OPERATIVE REALITY wherein the DUNING and the HUMANING are taken to be real LOCAL independently-existing things-in-themselves, no0tionally with their own powers of SOURCING actions and developments.
* * * OK, I realize that I have belaboured these points of how EAST and WEST differ in their psychological treatment of reducing the NONLOCAL to the LOCAL, with EAST using the double error tool only as a Wittgenstein ladder of INFERENCE of the ineffable and WEST using the double error tool as a direct SUBSTITUTE/SURROGATE OPERATIVE REALITY. I have belaboured these points because of their elusiveness and because of the relevance of this elusiveness to the COVID 19 event. * * *
THE COVID 19 EVENT (PANDEMIC) could be understood as in modern physics, in terms of relational TRANSFORMATION of the overall Wave-field space, in which case we the DOUBLE ERROR split into FIGURE and GROUND (attacking PATHOGEN as FIGURE and human social collective as GROUND) would not come into play. The understanding of the dynamic would instead be in terms of TRANSFORMATION for which a more apt comparison would be blooming of algae as ambient conditions change. This is a purely relational TRANSFORMATION wherein there is no such abstraction as PATHOGEN and thus no BINARY SPLITTING into ATTACKER AND VICTIM.
The ‘real world’ of our sensory experience is a transforming relational continuum so that what appears to be LOCAL is instead NOLOCAL as in the case of a hurricane which is a manifestation of relational transformation energized by solar irradiance, gravitational influence etc. To use DOUBLE ERROR language that sets up the hurricane as a notional LOCAL THING-IN-ITSELF, notionally with its own LOCAL POWERS OF SOURCING ACTIONS AND DEVELOPMENT is UNREAL ABSTRACTION that we use because it reduces the INEFFABLE to EFFABLE. So it is also with the concept of CRIMINAL and PATHOGEN; i.e., these notional LOCAL double error based BRANDINGS are convenient LOCAL IDENTITIES we paste on the centres of innately NONLOCAL relational dynamics.
This DOUBLE ERROR reduction is how we reduce the ineffable-because-NONLOCAL to some notional LOCAL phenomenon as in the case of the totional PATHOGEN NAMED COVIDE 19.
When we ‘fire a missile into something that NAMING purports to be LOCAL’ which is instead a relational nexus, there is COLLATERAL DAMAGE, as when the provider in a family is killed or imprisoned. It is like poisoning a rhizome in the lawn, … there is a radial matrix of COLLATERAL DAMAGE.
The DOUBLE ERROR belief that a NAMING instantiated ‘thing-in-exists’ with its own GRAMMAR instantiated power of SOURCING actions and developments is NOT REAL, it is ABSTRACTION. The world of our sensory experience is a transforming relational continuum.
“COLLATERAL DAMAGE” is a kind of ‘correction term’ for our FIRST MISTAKE of the DOUBLE ERROR based attributing of LOCALLY INSTANTIATED SORCERY of actions and development. If a rocket is launched to eliminate an evil ENEMY GENERAL deemed to be the source of the deaths of many of our fellows, and it wipes out a hundred ‘innocent others’, … we call it COLLATERAL DAMAGE, … but this is a mistake. The real problem is the assumption of SORCERY attributable to the ENEMY GENERAL. This is no such thing as the SOURCING OF ACTIONS AND DEVELOPMENTS, … it is a DOUBLE ERROR of language and grammar. In the REALITY of our sensory experience, there are relational dynamics that may range from harmonious to dissonant. There is no LOCAL SOURCE of relational dissonance. RELATIONAL DISSONANCE IS NONLOCAL.
We are all included in a TRANSFORMING RELATIONAL CONTINUUM as is the message in the indigenous aboriginal aphorism MITAKUYE OYASIN.
The DOUBLE ERROR based notion of a LOCAL SOURCE of actions and developments stems from EGO, and it has become a CORNERSTONE of WESTERN CULTURE REALITY REPRESENTATIONS.
It is wise to point out how COLLATERAL DAMAGE can build to a level, that exceeds the damage attributable to the notional PATHOGEN, but to get to the bottom of what is going on, one needs to consider the reality that there is no such thing as a PATHOGEN, there is only relational dissonance and relational harmony. Thus, the antidote for the alleged PATHOGEN attack is psychological, i.e. to back off the EGO-based delusional belief in the existence of PATHOGENS (DOUBLE ERROR BASED ABSTRACTIONS) and re-frame one’s understanding of reality in terms of relational dissonance and relational harmony. This is difficult to do within WESTERN CULTURE since it is the equivalent of re-assessing the actions of Robin Hood and Jean Valjean as naturally beneficial health-and-balance-enhancing actions, rather than as ‘attacks of PATHOGENS’. That is, WESTERN CULTURE’s view of a healthy social dynamic is in terms of a healthy PRODUCER-PRODUCT dynamic which is a FLATSPACE abstraction that ‘wallpapers over’ and obscures from view, reality as TRANSFORMATION.
The concept of the PATHOGEN that is the SOURCE of injurious action and development replicates the DOUBLE ERROR of language and grammar which is also the basis of EGO. There is thus a trace of SCHIZOPHRENIA in the WESTERN CULTURE ADHERENT’S fear of the PATHOGEN since the fear is likely to be most strongly felt in those whose EGOs are strongest and thus are the most confident of the REALITY of the DOUBLE ERROR of language and grammar which underlies both the EGO and the PATHOGEN.

The following is a short article that has ‘gone viral’ on the ‘web’ that speaks to the possibility that the panic that is arising over the fear of the spread of COVID 19 may cause as much or more injury to health and wellness as COVID 19 itself. For example, if a long term business recession was triggered by the fearful response to COVID 19, the toll in human suffering could be greater than human suffering that would be involved in a COVID 19 pandemic that was simply accepted as an illness that had to run its course. When a wild animal on the loose stampedes a mixed crowd of people, there may be many little ones and elderly that get trampled from the avoidance actions whereas the injuries and deaths from the wild animal left to attack the a passive crowd may involve far fewer injuries and deaths. This is often referred to as COLLATERAL DAMAGE, but this is also not correct because it points to excess damage beyond the INTENDED, TARGETED DAMAGE, which is abstraction that assumes as ‘reality’, the destruction of one member of a community or one building in a city. Communities are relational and not a simple ‘sum of the parts’ and likewise a city is not a simple ‘sum of its buildings’. Therefore the term COLLATERAL DAMAGE, while it points to an important concept, fails to capture the overall reality which is relational TRANSFORMATION.
We may argue among our WESTERN CULTURE selves as to whether more damage is SOURCED by actions of the PATHOGEN COVID 19, or SOURCED by attempts to avoid affliction by the PATHOGEN COVID 19, … however, as in the Zen koan of wind and flag, this issue is a null issue because, in reality, there is no such thing as SORCERY of actions and developments, there is only RELATIONAL TRANSFORMATION.

The coronavirus is here. But fear not.
Mass panic is also here. Fear.
I’m a doctor and an infectious diseases specialist. I’ve been at this for more than 20 years seeing sick patients on a daily basis. I have worked in inner-city hospitals and in the poorest slums of Africa.
HIV-AIDS, Hepatitis, TB, SARS, measles, shingles, whooping cough, diphtheria … there is little I haven’t been exposed to in my profession. And with the notable exception of SARS, very little has left me feeling vulnerable, overwhelmed or downright scared.
I am not scared of COVID-19. I am concerned about the implications of a novel infectious agent that has spread the world over and continues to find new footholds in different soil. I am rightly concerned for the welfare of those who are elderly, in frail health or disenfranchised who stand to suffer mostly, and disproportionately, at the hands of this new scourge. But I am not scared of COVID-19.
What I am scared about is the loss of reason and wave of fear that has induced the masses of society into a spellbinding spiral of panic, stockpiling obscene quantities of anything that could fill a bomb shelter adequately in a post-apocalyptic world.
I am scared of the N95 masks that are stolen from hospitals and urgent care clinics where they are actually needed for frontline health-care providers and instead are being donned in airports, malls and coffee lounges, perpetuating even more fear and suspicion of others. I am scared that our hospitals will be overwhelmed with anyone who thinks they “probably don’t have it but may as well get checked out no matter what because you just never know …” and those with heart failure, emphysema, pneumonia and strokes will pay the price for overfilled ER waiting rooms with only so many doctors and nurses to assess.
I am scared that travel restrictions will become so far reaching that weddings will be canceled, graduations missed and family reunions will not materialize. And well, even that big party called the Olympic Games … that could be kiboshed, too.
Can you even imagine?
I’m scared those same epidemic fears will limit trade, harm partnerships in multiple sectors, business and otherwise, and ultimately culminate in a global recession.
But mostly, I’m scared about what message we are telling our kids when faced with a threat. Instead of reason, rationality, openmindedness and altruism, we are telling them to panic, be fearful, suspicious, reactionary and self-interested.
COVID-19 is nowhere near over. It will be coming to a city, a hospital, a friend, even a family member near you at some point. Expect it. Stop waiting to be surprised further. The fact is the virus itself will not likely do much harm when it arrives. But our own behaviors and “fight for yourself above all else” attitude could prove disastrous.
I implore you all. Temper fear with reason, panic with patience and uncertainty with education. We have an opportunity to learn a great deal about health hygiene and limiting the spread of innumerable transmissible diseases in our society. Let’s meet this challenge together in the best spirit of compassion for others, patience, and above all, an unfailing effort to seek truth, facts and knowledge as opposed to conjecture, speculation and catastrophizing.
Facts, not fear. Clean hands. Open hearts.
Our children will thank us for it.
