FORWARD: to ‘From ‘Epidemic’ to ‘Pandemic’ to ‘TRANSFORMATION’.

 

In interpreting what is REALLY going on with the CORONA VIRUS, we need to remind ourselves of the SHORTFALLS  of WESTERN CULTURE REASON that can be a ‘CRAZY-MAKER”.  ‘REASON’ is a useful abstraction based tool that can generate INFERENCE of the ineffable Wave-field reality we are included in.  REASON CANNOT serve up ‘reality’ on a platter and if we start thinking it can, this is a crazy-maker.  In fact, this problem of succumbing to such crazy-making is characteristic of us WESTERN CULTURE ADHERENTS.

For example, ‘EGO’ stems from LITERAL belief in the DOUBLE ERROR of language and grammar where we RE-present ourselves as having the powers of sourcing actions and developments.  This is abstraction that, if we confuse it for reality, ‘swells the head’ conjures up the notional PATHOGEN, that we similarly imagine as having its  own powers of LOCALLY SOURCING (in this case, ‘destructive’ rather than constructive) actions.  PRIDE coming from ‘REASON’ is where this EGO-sourced psychological dysfunction starts and while we fool ourselves with language and grammar into believing that we have the power of LOCALLY SOURCING constructive actions and developments, this opens a ‘back door’ by way of the binary opposite coupling that simple logic is composed of, to DARK figures who we believe have the power to LOCALLY SOURCE destructive actions and developments.   These;EGO-based beliefs in LOCAL SOURCING powers that can either put, in a language inferred FIGURATIVE sense, constructive and/or destructive powers in OUR hands or in OTHERS HANDS.  These impressions are DOUBLE ERROR based ILLUSIONS; … SUCH SOURCING POWERS as we express through the logic based device of REASON DO NOT EXIST!

IF we start thinking of the DOUBLE ERROR of language and grammar as the LOCAL SOURCING POWER it imputes is REAL, this is a CRAZY-MAKER.   One example is the FLAT-SPACE abstraction of GROWTH (this is based on the DOUBLE ERROR).

Once we start throwing around this DOUBLE ERROR based abstraction of GROWTH, we can and do start talking about THE GROWTH of the “ECONOMY” which entails the PRODUCTION OF PRODUCTS aka the PRODUCER-PRODUCT DYNAMIC which is another one of these DOUBLE ERROR ‘non-sequiturs’ that we can put together like LEGO-blocks thanks to language and grammar.  We can explore the abstract underpinnings of GROWTH as follows;

On a flat plain of infinite extent (i.e in our abstracting minds) we can speak of the GROWTH of cultivated land.  However, on the spherical surface of finite extent (i.e. in the reality of our currently experienced living space) the growth of cultivated land goes together with the shrinkage of Wilderness land. If we think of this in terms of these cultivated spots being like spots of growing mold on an apple, this helps us to conceive of what is going on here as TRANSFORMATION.   Note that while the term “GROWTH “implies the GROWTH of a BOUNDED FIGURE in a separate GROUND and thus implies FIGURE and GROUND as TWO, … whereasTRANSFORMATION is just ONE.  And after all, the GROWTH of a crop of clover or wheat in a rich topsoil is only superficial and the greater reality is the co-evolving mixture of weeds and other organisms.  The question here is whether FIGURE and GROUND are TWO or whether FIGURE and GROUND are ONE.

In Zen, the understanding of TWO-as-ONE TRANSFORMATION (where the distinction between FIGURE and GROUND is ‘appearance’) can over-ride paradox (perpetrated in the psyche by language and grammar) like the paradox of wind and flag, —which one is sourcing the movement?; i.e. is the flapping flag sourcing the movement of air, or is the movement of air sourcing the flapping of the flag.  The answer is NEITHER because there is no such thing as SOURCING, there is instead relational TRANSFORMATION.  As Nietzsche points out, SOURCING is an abstraction that derives from the DOUBLE ERROR of language and grammar; the FIRST ERROR is NAMING which imputes local thing-in-itself BEING to the relational form-in-the flow (aka Tao, Wave-field), and we conflate this with GRAMMAR (SECOND ERROR) which imputes the power of sourcing actions and developments to the NAMING instantiated thing-in-itself.

This DOUBLE ERROR conjures up for us the abstraction of LOCAL jumpstart action and development.

We like this DOUBLE ERROR reduction-to-LOCAL because it makes the ineffable-because-NONLOCAL effable-because-LOCAL.   In the EAST, this reduction is used as a tool of INFERENCE.  For us in the WEST, we use the reduction-to-LOCAL as if it were the ‘real REALITY’.  This has misleading consequences generally and in the particular case of COVID 19 and PATHOGENS (abstract things-in-themselves that notionally jumpstart injurious actions and developments).  The example of ‘c. difficile’ shows that what we call PATHOGENS in the language of abstraction, are, in the relational view of reality, relational dynamics induced by relational imbalance, as in the examples of Robin Hood and Jean Valjean; i.e. PATHOGENIC BEHAVIOUR is just a means [based on the DOUBLE ERROR abstraction of local incipience] of effable-izing the NONLOCAL (ineffable) transforming relational dynamic (aka the Wave-field aka the Tao).

When the forests get dryer and browner in the heat of a long hot summer, this is TRANSFORMATION and it is ongoing and we don’t say much about it until the tinder dry powder-keg is ignited here or there, which gives us a LOCAL footing for making statements such as; FIRE BURNS.  Prior to this, the NONLOCALITY of the TRANSFORMATION has kept us silent because NONLOCAL TRANSFORMATION is INEFFABLE, … it being the all-including Wave-field aka the Tao which we are included in (and that can’t point out and describe in visual terms.

As we know, TRANSFORMATION is the basic REALITY of our sensory experience regardless of the problem of its NONLOCAL ‘ineffable-nature’, … but we WESTERN CULTURE ADHERENTS have embraced AS OUR OSTENSIBLE “REALITY”, the LOCAL and thus EFFABLE, … NOT JUST, AS IN MODERN PHYSICS AND AS IN THE EAST, AS A TOOL OF INFERENCE AKA WITTGENSTEIN LADDER AKA BOOTSTRAP that lets us INFER the ineffable-because-NONLOCAL relational TRANSFORMATION, but as a SUBSTITUTE/REPLACEMENT-REALITY.

A “COVID 19 INFECTION” is to what is really going on (TRANSFORMATION), as a LOCAL forest fire is to NONLOCAL TRANSFORMATION that we sense-experience well before the LOCAL FIRE bursts into flame, but being as TRANSFORMATION is NONLOCAL, we could feel it and sweat it out, but we could not point to it and give it LOCAL BEING as fits our DOUBLE ERROR based language and grammar constructions.  But once we have something LOCAL to see and point to, we are able to break out our DOUBLE ERROR tool  With the help of the DOUBLE ERROR tool, the big NONLOCAL circulation in the atmosphere that is feeding on an infusion of solar energy becomes the LOCAL HURRICANE which the DOUBLE ERROR equips with NAME-instantiated LOCAL BEING and with GRAMMAR-given powers of SOURCING actions and developments.   NO MORE purely relational TRANSFORMATION with its ineffable NONLOCALITY, … the DOUBLE ERROR accomplishes the reduction of the ineffable-because-NONLOCAL to effable-because-LOCAL thing-in-itself being with GRAMMAR given local powers of sourcing actions and developments.  NOW WE ARE TALKING!

What are the DOWNSIDES of this reduction of the NONLOCAL to the abstract DOUBLE ERROR based LOCAL?  The downsides include this refocusing on defending against a notional PATHOGEN instead of throwing ourselves into the cultivating, restoring and sustaining of balance within a dissonance-tending Wave-field dynamic.  What comes to mind for me is the ‘speed wobble’ on a motorcycle where the oscillation of one’s body mass and the oscillation of the motorcycle mass ‘tune together’ and radically amplify the ‘shakin goin on’.   In the resonance/dissonance view of health and illness, one doesn’t want to be in close proximity to sympathetic resonances that can bring on the speed wobble.  In incendiary terms, small brush fires are not too bad on IF THEY ARE ‘DISTANCING”, but without DISTANCING, they can come together and build intensity EXPONENTIALLY.  This WAVE-FIELD effect is the GENERAL CASE in NATURE and it is only our DOUBLE ERROR use of language and grammar that reduces NONLOCAL resonance phenomena such as DUNING to mechanical terms of LOCAL “DUNES”, NAMING-instantiated things-in-themselves notionally with their own GRAMMAR-give powers of sourcing actions and development.

Resonance forms are induced by NONLOCAL influences.  That the DOUBLE ERROR of language and grammar can invert this natural reality and RE-present DUNING in the REDUCTIVE terms of LOCAL DUNES that GRAMMAR endows with powers of actions and development is what enables the ‘effable-izing’ of a crude reduction of the ineffable. This crude reduction by way of the DOUBLE ERROR is useful as a ‘Wittgenstein ladder’ to INFER or BOOTSTRAP the ineffable intuitive understanding of  NONLOCAL TRANSFORMATION that lies beyond reach of the effable.

Note that DISTANCING as used in the wave-dynamical resonance sense, implies much more than DISTANCING in the sense of staying apart so as to prevent fleas from jumping across the gap or other mechanical transactions; i.e it applies in the RESONANCE sense of the motorcycle speed wobble where the amplitude of the wobble can rise exponentially as it enters into a resonant connective confluence.   This is also the case where fire-based (thermal-wave based) TRANSFORMATION is involved as such waves can interfere constructively and build exponentially.

To construct mental representations in terms of a PATHOGEN attack puts one in the particle theory mode of understanding which lacks the ‘tuning’ phenomena inherent in Wave-field dynamics.  In other words, PATHOGEN theory (nasty little particles/microbes ‘on the attack’) does NOT invoke the interference based complexity of Wave-field tuning, but we know from experience that when several small fires ‘interfere’, all hell can break loose, which gives Wave-theory (interference) more power in explaining complex phenomena.

One might ask WHY resonance based TRANSFORMATION as in land areas undergoing DUNING and as in forested era undergoing CARBONIZING are NOT spoken of in terms of TRANSFORMATION but are instead spoken on in term of DUNES building and shifting and FIRES burning and spreading.   The answer is that TRANSFORMATION is NONLOCAL and thus INEFFABLE while DOUBLE ERROR based reduction of dynamics is LOCAL and EFFABLE.

TRANSFORMATION is what we are included in, and not something we can point to and describe as ‘out there’.

We may use DOUBLE ERROR ‘talk’ about being attacked by the PATHOGEN COVID 19 but what is going on is TRANSFORMATION.  FIRE implies TRANSFORMATION but in a secondary that implies primary manner. Since TRANSFORMATION is INEFFABLE and FIRE is EFFABLE, we must make an intuitive leap to understand the TRANSFORMATION that is unfolding when we hear talk of FIRES BURNING.  We can see FIRES BURNING and we can WATCH THEM GROW, so we say, but the still GREEN area is shrinking in reciprocal proportion to the growing BURNT area, a NONLOCAL conjugate development that we can understand as TRANSFORMATION wherein there is nothing LOCAL to refer to in terms of its GROWTH or SHRINKAGE.

No amount of studying of the development and dynamics of a DUNE is going educate us on DUNING since DUNE development and dynamics are LOCAL phenomena while DUNING is a NONLOCAL Wave-field (resonance) phenomenon.  While the LOCAL is effable, the NONLOCAL is ineffable. That is why Emerson complained about how we WESTERN CULTURE ADHERENTS were using the effable-izing DOUBLE ERROR tool to run away with the workman, the human with the Divine (ineffable).

 

We may continue to clear Wilderness areas and cultivate land for farming and talk about the GROWTH of our wheat-producing farm, from its 2 acre beginnings to its current 160 acre producing operations, and cite the corresponding figures for the GROWTH of our production of farm product, but is that GROWTH “REAL”?  If we think about it, the soil is a diverse mix of minerals and organisms all embroiled in a complex relational dynamic, so it is mis-representation to speak of a ‘field of wheat’.  In fact, it is exemplary of the DOUBLE ERROR of NAMING and GRAMMAR that substitutes NAMING instantiated things-in-themselves with GRAMMAR-given powers of SOURCING actions and developments.   In reality, there are many relational forms living off of one another and ZERO ‘things-in-themselves’.   As Carlo Rovelli points out in ‘Quantum Gravity’, as relational forms we do not live in space-time, we live as a mutually supportive relational ecosystem where ‘relations’ are more fundamental than ‘things’, a scenario wherein REALITY = TRANSFORMATION and there is no LOCAL (DOUBLE ERROR) jumpstarting of actions and developments from LOCAL things-in-themselves notionally with ‘their own’ powers of SOURCING actions and developments.

In Newtonian and special relativistic physics, if we take away the dynamical entities – particles and fields – what remains is space and time. In general relativistic physics, if we take away the dynamical entities, nothing remains. The space and time of Newton and Minkowski are reinterpreted as a configuration of one of the fields, the gravitational field. This implies that physical entities – particles and fields – are not all immersed in space, and moving in time. They do not live on spacetime. They live, so to say, on one another. It is as if we had observed in the ocean many animals living on an island: animals ‘on’ the island. Then we discover that the island itself is in fact a great whale. A world in which everything is in relational flux (i.e. of animals on animals) is a world that is ineffable.  The use of the DOUBLE ERROR of NAMING and GRAMMAR is an abstraction based tool for REDUCING the ineffable-because-NONLOCAL Wave-field (fluid reality) to a surrogate effable-because-LOCAL pseudo (i.e. good for inference purposes only) reality.  This DOUBLE ERROR TOOL is a TOOL OF INFERENCE of the ineffable, that is based in REASON that has, in the case of us WESTERN CULTURE ADHERENTS, been ‘running away with the workman, the human with the divine.  In the GREAT (NONLOCAL) HARMONY, there is no ‘LOCAL’, neither in language based representations that employ a NAMING based imputing of BEING nor in the conflated (second error) sense of GRAMMAR based SOURCING of actions and developments.  Our use of language re reduce the NONLOGAL-and-ineffable to he LOCAL-and-thus-effable serves us with a tool of INFERENCE (not to be used as a substitute reality as is the WESTERN (CRAZY-MAKING) HABIT.  Language is only good for constructing REPRESENTATIONS that INFER the NONLOCAL (ineffable) reality that lies intrinsically beyond the reach of the explicit and direct representations of language.  As Lao Tzu observes; ‘the Tao that can be told is not the true Tao’.

From ‘Epidemic’ to ‘Pandemic’ to ‘TRANSFORMATION’

We can speak of ‘the brush fire’ and the ‘forest fire’ because these are EXPLICIT LOCAL DYNAMICS, but we don’t often draw attention to the over-arching solar energy wave dynamic that is heating and desiccating the containing space that INCLUDES THE FOREST.

What we have here is a ‘communications problem’ that gets overlooked in our language and grammar representations and ends up confusing our understanding.  It has been duly noted by philosophers such as Nietzsche and Nishitani who point out that the expressions ‘Lightning strikes’ and ‘fire burns’ are DOUBLE ERRORS.  The first error is using NAMING to impute LOCAL thing-in-itself existence, conflated with a second error of GRAMMAR that imputes the power of SOURCING actions and developments to the NAMING-instantiated (notional) thing-in-itself.

[N.B. ‘NAMING’ is the ‘stake in the ground’ that overcomes, in the reasoning intellect, the intuition of NONLOCALITY]

This DOUBLE ERROR  of language and grammar serves as a very useful tool for ‘effable-izing’ by LOCAL-izing the ineffable-because-NONLOCAL transforming relational continuum aka the Wave-field aka ‘the Tao’.

In the EAST, this DOUBLE ERROR tool is used as a ‘Wittgenstein ladder’ or TOOL OF INFERENCE that allows us to INFER the reality of our inclusion in the transforming relational continuum.  In modern physics, this has been described as BOOTSTRAPPING as in ‘the surprise version of the game of Twenty Questions’ where our articulation is in terms of many relations among things so that after we build a comprehensive relational net, we can let the ‘things’ we used drop from sight/awareness and keep the thingless web of relations as the ‘operative reality’.  For example, if we talk about DUNES that grow higher and longer and shift across the desert floor, our ineffable (beyond language capture) understanding of RESONANCE (the Wave-field dynamic) that we and ‘the DUNES’ are included in is inductively invoked in our intuitive mind.  This language and grammar-based BOOTSTRAPPING of an intuitive grasp of the ineffable Tao, the all-including Wave-field, gives us the impression of the invisible Wave-field resonance that is ‘behind’ the material manifesting of what we impose EXPLICIT BEING on with language , by naming the appearances that manifest in the resonance, ‘DUNES’ and intellectually ‘working the system backwards’ by using GRAMMAR to ‘animate’ the EXPLICIT forms (DUNES) that we created with NAMING.

While modern physics and the EAST makes use of this DOUBLE ERROR tool as a ‘Wittgenstein ladder’ or INFERENCE approach, to BOOTSTRAP (to use inference) an intuitive understanding of the ineffable resonance-based TRANSFORMATION that is going on, we WESTERN CULTURE ADHERENTS are in the habit of accepting the reduced inference as our OPERATIVE REALITY rather than as INFERENCE of the ineffable reality that lies beyond it and can only be obliquely inferred by language and grammar.

To ‘cut to the quick’ in this report entitled From ‘Epidemic’ to ‘Pandemic’ to ‘TRANSFORMATION’, Language and grammar allows us to LOCALIZE in our intellectual representations the NONLOCAL of our sensory experience, this is where THE WEST lets the reductive tool of intellectual representation RUN AWAY WITH THE WORKMAN since we, ourselves, in the Wave-field understanding of reality are relational inclusions within the transforming relational continuum.  It is only the TOOL of language and grammar that equips us for the DOUBLE ERROR of NAMING and GRAMMAR that reduces (within our intellectual representation capability) the NONLOCAL dynamics of TRANSFORMATION (the transforming relational continuum) to abstract/notional DOUBLE ERROR based intellectual RE-presentation.

Now, it is ‘up to us’, when hearing or seeing intellectual representations, to use our intuition to make the leap back to the INEFFABLE-because-NONLOCAL relational TRANSFORMATION that we have ‘dumbed down’ with the DOUBLE ERROR of language and grammar to RE-present in terms of EXPLICIT things-in-themselves notionally with their own powers of SOURCING actions and developments. … OR NOT TO MAKE THE LEAP BACK TO THE INEFFABLE, and it is on this pivotal point that EAST which does make the leap back to the ineffable, DEPARTS FROM WEST, which does NOT make the leap back to the ineffable but (mis-) uses the EXPLICIT reduction as the OPERATIVE REALITY.

We need only remember that that which is EXPLICIT is a bullshit-reduction-of ineffable-to-effable that is good only for inference, while IMPLICIT that is INFERRED by the EXPLICIT is the ineffable REALITY.   Thus, the resonance that induces DUNING (i.e. that ‘gathers up DUNES’), being inherently NONLOCAL and INEFFABLE is the physical REALITY that can only be INFERRED by the ‘DUNES’ that are the LOCAL MANIFESTING  of the NONLOCAL where stuff is sucked into shape and form and movement by the purely RELATIONAL NONLOCAL RESONANCE (Wave-field dynamic) in which ‘the DUNES’ are included.   This is the DOUBLE ERROR whereby the IMPLICIT-because-NONLOCAL is reduced to the EXPLICIT-because-LOCAL.

 

Yes, of course, language and grammar let us ‘flip this around’ with the DOUBLE ERROR of NAMING and GRAMMAR to make it appear to the intellect as if the DUNES are the SOURCE of THEIR OWN ACTIONS AND DEVELOPMENT, thus LOCALIZING the inherently physically NONLOCAL dynamic of relational TRANSFORMATION. wherein atmospheric and gravitational dynamics are relational influences (NONLOCAL INFLUENCES) inducing resonances that manifest as DUNING.

WE WESTERN CULTURE ADHERENTS MIX AND MATCH THE TWO TYPES OF LOGIC AND CONFUSE OURSELVES IN SO DOING.

-1- The EITHER/OR logic of the EXCLUDED medium as in the  FIGURE-and-GROUND example:  This is FLATSPACE logic wherein GROWTH is taken to be REAL.  For  example, we are cultivating land by chopping down Wilderness forests, removing stumps, conditioning the ground and planting crops.  We start with a 10 acre farmed area and we expand this to a 160 acre farmed area and our production of product (e.g. wheat) GROWS from 100 bushels to 1600 bushels.  This is REAL GROWTH in the sense that our INCOME grows in proportion to the GROWTH of our farm.   This is what is meant by the EITHER/OR logic of the excluded medium (the land is EITHER farmland or NOT farmland and the farmland ‘expanse’ is said to be GROWING.  THIS IS ABSTRACTION, … THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS “GROWTH”.

-2- The BOTH/AND logic (modern physics logic) of the INCLUDED medium;  This is CURVED-SPACE logic wherein there is BOTH GROWTH of the cultivated area and SHRINKAGE of the Wilderness area, or in other words there is TRANSFORMATION of the overall medium.  This is what is meant by the BOTH/AND logic of the INCLUDED medium (As the cultivated area GROWS, the Wilderness area reciprocally SHRINKS, the overall dynamic being TRANSFORMATION).

GROWTH belongs with EITHER/OR logic of the EXCLUDED medium where FIGURE and GROUND are TWO SEPARATE THINGS-IN-THEMSELVES so that the FIGURE is seen as something LOCAL that can GROW independently of the GROUND

TRANSFORMATION belongs with BOTH/AND logic of the INCLUDED medium where FIGURE and GROUND are ONE and the distinction is by APPEARANCE.  For example, the GROWTH of cultivated land, and the SHRINKAGE of Wilderness are a UNUM that is undergoing TRANSFORMATION that is intrinsically relational and NONLOCAL.

We WESTERN CULTURE ADHERENTS have built an ‘economy’ based on GROWTH (language and grammar based abstraction that we substitute for the more complex reality of TRANSFORMATION).  The FLATLAND abstract concept of GROWTH, an intellectual abstraction that rallies WESTERN CULTURE ADHERENTS behaviours, as within the producer-product abstraction that gives rise to the WESTERN CULTURE ECONOMY, is blind to (lacks the dimensionality to represent and thus trigger comprehension of) the REALITY of TRANSFORMATION.

On the flat land of the prairie, GROWTH of cultivated lands may seem real, but GROWTH is NOT REAL because in our experience of inclusion in a spherical space, BOTH/AND logic of the INCLUDED medium applies so that GROWING cropland is NOT separate from reducing Wilderness as in FLATLAND thinking (i.e. as in EITHER/OR logic of the EXCLUDED medium).  In other words, such GROWTH of cropland is at the same time SHRINKAGE of the Wilderness land (i.e. as in the BOTH/AND logic of the INCLUDED medium where FIGURE and GROUND are ONE).  Thinking in terms of holographic imagery as in a Wave-field may help here.

In short, there is no such thing as GROWTH.  It is an abstract concept based on a DOUBLE ERROR of language and grammar.  The notion of the GROWTH of a LOCAL thing-in-itself FORCES UPON OUR MIND’S INTELLECTUAL-VISUAL RE-PRESENTATION of such intellectual concepts THE SUPERSEDING AND EXCLUDING of our sensory experience of “NONLOCALITY”; i.e. our sensory experience of INCLUSION within a TRANSFORMING RELATIONAL CONTINUUM.   As Emerson says, the tool (of language and grammar based LOCALIZING) runs away with the workman, the ‘(effable/)human’ with the ‘(ineffable/) divine’.

Insofar as we WESTERN CULTURE ADHERENTS take GROWTH to be REAL, … and thus accept GROWTH as a real aspect of a DOUBLE ERROR based substitute reality which takes TRANSFORMATION out of our thoughts and representations of reality, we in-effect move our reality lock, stock and barrel, into the reduced FLATSPACE reality in which we conceive ourselves as jumpstart ‘producers of products’, … an abstract reality wherein we orient our efforts to what we are perceiving as GROWTH (e.g. of cultivated area) ignoring the conjugate REDUCTION of Wilderness area, both conjugates together inferring that what Is REALLY going on is TRANSFORMATION.

THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS “GROWTH”.  THE CONCEPT OF “GROWTH” DERIVES FROM A DOUBLE ERROR OF LANGUAGE (NAMING) AND GRAMMAR (ANIMATING).

THIS BRINGS US BACK TO COVID 19 AND ‘PATHOGENS’ IN GENERAL, WHICH ARE ‘DOUBLE ERROR’ CONSTRUCTS’

When we take away the DOUBLE ERROR, we take away all LOCAL SOURCING of actions and developments and reground in our natural sensory experience of NONLOCAL relational transformation.  Of course, we take away, at the same time, the REDUCTION TO EFFABLE-BECAUSE-LOCAL of the …. INEFFABLE-BECAUSE-NONLOCAL.  What does this imply?  It implies, as Wittgenstein somewhat enigmatically states in his final proposition in Tractatus Logico Philosophicus, that we must pass over the ineffable in silence.  Our experiencing of inclusion in the transforming relational continuum is a case in point.

“7. Whereof one cannot speak, thereof one must be silent.” (“Wovon man nicht sprechen kann, darüber muss man schweigen”)

The ‘work-around’ to use language based on notional LOCAL persisting things-in-themselves to represent a totally fluid reality is termed ‘bootstrapping’, an inference-technique which is what Wittgenstein, Nietzsche, Bohm and others are proposing;

6.54 My propositions are elucidatory in this way: he who understands me finally recognizes them as senseless, when he has climbed out through them, on them, over them. (He must so to speak throw away the ladder, after he has climbed up on it.

THE PATHOGEN is a concept designed to imply the LOCAL jumpstart SOURCING AGENCY from whence destructive or injurious actions and developments originate.  Note that in a purely relational reality such as in a Wave-field, destructive or injurious actions and developments associate with relational dissonance which is inherently NONLOCAL.  The Wave-field reality DOES NOT SUPPORT “PATHOGENS”, but it does support relational dissonance, as in the case of ‘c. difficile’ where the relational dynamics of the microbial assemblage become dissonant in the wake of the administering of an ‘anti-biotic’ which perturbs the standing harmonies (resonance) in the relational dynamics of the microbial assemblage.  The disruption of the relational balancing of the microbial assemblage by the disproportional proliferation of c. difficile is the PROBLEM since it disrupts the relations needed for sustaining those relational harmonies that constitute the ‘healthy’ state of affairs.  THE PROBLEM IS NOT C. DIFFICILE!  the problem is the destabilizing of the dynamic relational balancing that constitutes the harmonies or resonances (the Wave-field conditions) that constitute ‘good health’.

The disproportionate proliferating of c. difficile signifies the loss of resonance-based balance that constitutes the healthy condition. Just as the emergence of Robin Hoods and Jean Valjean’s signify the loss of relational balance that constitutes the ‘good health’ of the social collective, our WESTERN CULTURE reliance on DOUBLE ERROR abstraction misinterprets the GENESIS of Robin Hood and Jean Valjean actions in terms of THEIR LOCAL SOURCING of these actions, when the reality is that such actions arise NONLOCALLY from relational imbalance.

This is the general case; i.e. the concept of the PATHOGEN is abstraction deriving from misinterpretation implanted by the DOUBLE ERROR of language and grammar.  The first error is NAMING (Robin Hood) to infer LOCAL thing-in-itself being, conflated with (second error) GRAMMAR to notionally endow the NAMING instantiated thing-in-itself with notional powers of SOURCING actions and developments.

In this case the naming, rather than Robin Hood, is COVID 19, as was the case with “c. difficile”, the intellectual take-away from the DOUBLE ERROR is that the NAMING instantiated LOCAL thing-in-itself DID THE DIRTY DEED (Robin Hood, Jean Valjean, c. difficile, COVID 19).

What WESTERN CULTURE BELIEF in this DOUBLE ERROR abstraction does, goes beyond the utilitarian USE of the DOUBLE ERROR in the manner described by Wittgenstein to use it as a TOOL OF INFERENCE to trigger an intuitive leap to the INEFFABLE at which point we toss away the DOUBLE ERROR based ‘ladder’, or, as this is described in modern physics in  terms of  ‘Surprise version of the game of Twenty Questions’ that we use as INFERENCE to trigger intuition of the ineffable.

SUMMARY:

First of all, I entitled this; From ‘Epidemic’ to ‘Pandemic’ to ‘TRANSFORMATION’.

I chose this title because I wanted to show how TRANSFORMATION is the NONLOCAL REALITY and it is this NONLOCALITY that makes it INEFFABLE.   We are therefore forced into LOCALIZING the NONLOCAL in order to REDUCE it to  EFFABLE RE-presentation.

There is thus a ‘progression’ from LOCAL to NONLOCAL implied by the sequence, ‘From Epidemic, Pandemic to TRANSFORMATION’ which is kind of abandoning-by-degrees our futile attempt to LOCALIZE the inherently NONLOCAL (i.e. the Wave-field dynamic is inherently NONLOCAL as it is ‘everywhere at the same time’).

Ok, in order to effable-ize the ineffable-because-NONLOCAL, we use the DOUBLE ERROR to synthetically localize the NONLOCAL and this ‘trickery’ by way of the DOUBLE ERROR is quite obvious as Nietzsche and Nishitani point out; i.e. “FIRE BURNS” gets rid of a whole lot of NONLOCAL REALITY like solar energy that is dessicating vegetation; i.e. TRANSFORMING it into explosives ready to be triggered into ‘exploding into flames’ by a lightning bolt or by a tossed cigarette butt.  In this case, instead of acknowledging  the NONLOCAL TRANSFORMATION that is underway, we WESTERN CULTURE ADHERENTS instead home in on the ‘LOCAL’ by imposing DOUBLE ERROR based LOCAL instantiation wherein; ‘the discarded cigarette butt’ SOURCED the burning of the forest.

HEY! … what happened to all the TRANSFORMATION associated with solar irradiance dessicating all those organic materials, transforming the forest into a fire-bomb awaiting ignition. A child with a cigarette lighter could be said to ‘SOURCE’ a conflagration that destroys vast expanses of forests and towns.  What was really NONLOCAL (TRANSFORMATION) is instead, thanks to the DOUBLE ERROR, ‘RE-presented’ in reductive abstraction as “LOCAL-IN-SPACE-AND-TIME”.

From ‘Epidemic’ to ‘Pandemic’ to ‘TRANSFORMATION’… is a commentary that points to the basic inadequacy of LOCAL sourcing as a conceptual explanation for anything REAL.  Sure, LOCAL sourcing is a DOUBLE ERROR based ploy that succeeds in imputing LOCAL sourcing (and thus EFFABLE articulation) to give representation to the INEFFABLE-because-NONLOCAL Wave-field dynamic), but LOCAL SOURCING imputed by such simplistic aphorisms as FIRE BURNS doesn’t tell the story of NONLOCAL ‘global desiccating’ associated with TRANSFORMATION as in the Wave-field dynamic.

Does it ‘make sense’ to talk about LOCAL SOURCING of fires, ostensibly due to local SOURCING agencies such as discarding cigarette butts without mentioning that the ‘ground cover’ of the whole continent of Australia has become , by environmental inducement, TRANSFORMED into a TINDER BOX ready to explode into flames?  If the news reporter asks; ‘what was the cause of this forest fire?’, … the response he is looking for is one that is in terms of LOCAL sourcing and he is NOT likely to be probing for NONLOCAL influence that includes the ineffable gyrations of the transforming relational continuum that manifest as wobbles in planetary orbits, cosmic radiation storms etc., the articulation of the NONLOCAL being endless as in Bohm’s example of the ‘source’ of the death of Lincoln which winds and twists back through John Wilkes Booth, back through the invention of the gun and gunpowder, but which is condensed and reduced to ‘the jumpstart LOCAL’ by the DOUBLE ERROR into ‘John Wilkes Booth’s gun kills’.

The point is that while NONLOCAL TRANSFORMATION is the fundamental sourcing agency, it is INEFFABLE and in order to come up with EFFABLE  sourcing agency, it is necessary to reduce the NONLOCAL to LOCAL and that is why, for example, the NONLOCAL relational resonance that manifests as DUNING is something we reduce to LOCAL terms by way of the DOUBLE ERROR; i.e. The first error is NAMING (where we speak of ‘the DUNE’) that imputes the LOCAL existence of a thing-in-itself, conflating this with GRAMMAR (the second error) which imputes to the NAMING instantiated thing-in-itself ‘its own’ powers of SOURCING actions and developments.

TRANSFORMING is NONLOCAL and it is the basic physical reality of our sensual experience of inclusion therein, but it is INEFFABLE and in order to reduce it to EFFABLE, we reduce the NONLOCAL to LOCAL as with reducing DUNING (nonlocal resonance) to LOCAL DUNES, notionally with their own powers of SOURCING actions and development.  That “IS” the “DOUBLE ERROR” that Nietzsche is talking about that he exemplifies with the example of LOCAL-SOURCING given by LIGHTNING FLASHES and which NISHITANI exemplifies with ‘FIRE BURNS’, language-and-grammar localizing ‘nuggets’ that SUBSTITUTE for the ineffable dynamic of NONLOCAL RELATIONAL TRANSFORMATION.

We could ask ourselves how WE would capture in effable terms, the TRANSFORMATION within which there is a poof of smoke announcing the FIRE that BURNS.  The LOCAL is easily “effable-ized” while the NONLOCAL is ineffable as it just leads us back into the ineffable transforming relational continuum.   And like the not-straight-thinking drunk who searches under the streetlight for the watch he lost on a dark-because-unlit stretch of the road “because the searching conditions are better there”, so it is with we WESTERN CULTURE ADHERENTS in our employing of effable reductive abstractions to allude to the INEFFABLE reality.  Again, while the EAST employs these effable reductions as INFERENCE of the ineffable (‘Wittgenstein ladders’), the WEST has fallen into the CRAZY-MAKING trap of employing these effable reductions as THE SUBSTITUTE REALITY.

SO, this writing of; From ‘Epidemic’ to ‘Pandemic’ to ‘TRANSFORMATION has been to illustrate;

-1- The problem with the PATHOGEN concept; i.e. how it is based on the DOUBLE ERROR abstraction of language and grammar.  That is, there are no such things as PATHOGENS, and COVID 19 is no exception.  COVID 19 is the NAME imposed on a dynamic relational form that, like c. difficile, proliferates under conditions of relational imbalance, as was the case with Robin Hood and Jean Valjean.

-2- How we WESTERN CULTURE ADHERENTS deceive ourselves with the concepts of GROWTH and the PRODUCER-PRODUCT model which are FLATSPACE abstractions that give us the sense that, for example, the GROWTH of cultivated land is something REAL.   The GROWTH of cultivated land cannot ‘happen’ without at the same time, the reciprocal REDUCTION of ‘Wilderness land’.  For the psyche to conceive of GROWTH of cultivated land without reciprocal REDUCTION of Wilderness land it must invent the abstract concept of a FLAT SPACE.  I.E. there is no such thing as GROWTH!  GROWTH in the ‘real’ world is always offset by reciprocal REDUCTION.  The taken-for-granted-as-REAL … PRODUCER-PRODUCT dynamic, which seems to defy this, is DOUBLE ERROR based REDUCTIVE ILLUSION that we WESTERN CULTURE ADHERENTS SUBSTITUTE for TRANSFORMATION.

EXAMPLE: The so-called PRODUCTION OF OIL is an abstract notion that is just as deceptive as Nishitani’s example of ‘FIRE BURNS’ in its DOUBLE ERROR based reduction of the NONLOCAL to the LOCAL.  What we actually experience is TRANSFORMATION of the land; e.g.  the erection of oil derricks, the laying of pipelines and building of gas and salt-water extraction facilities, collapse of near surface sedimentary layers as oil is extracted along with the cracking of building foundations, the contamination of soil and the death of plant and animal life from leaks and spills, the pollution of air and the contribution to health problems from refinery emissions and from emissions of petroleum fired engines and from other energy-extracting uses of the produced product.  To speak of the ‘production of oil’ or ‘we produce oil’ is as lame as saying ‘fire burns’; i.e. it is a DOUBLE ERROR based means of LOCALIZING NONLOCAL TRANSFORMATION.

The REALITY is NOT the ‘production of product’ and the associated ‘economic GROWTH (as also claimed with the GROWTH of the farmer’s plantation), a synthetic representation wherein something is LOST in reciprocal relation to the alleged GROWTH, such that the reality is, if this ‘drop-out’ is acknowledged, NOT “GROWTH” but “TRANSFORMATION”.

 END OF SUMMARY, BEGINNING OF AUTHOR’S SCHOLIUM:  From ‘Epidemic’ to ‘Pandemic’ to ‘TRANSFORMATION

TRANSFORMATION is the most basic reality, according to modern physics; i.e. we are included within the transforming relational continuum aka ‘the Wave-field’ aka ‘the Tao’.

Since inclusion in TRANSFORMATION is INEFFABLE, our linguistic communications have been made possible by ‘effable-izing’ the INEFFABLE and this has popularly been done by way of the DOUBLE ERROR of language and grammar; i.e. the FIRST ERROR is NAMING to impute local thing-in-itself BEING, and the second error of GRAMMAR conflates the first by imputing the power of SOURCING actions and developments to the NAMING instantiated thing-in-itself.

The DOUBLE ERROR problem ties to the PROBLEM WITH “REASON”

The problem with ‘reason’ is that it is DOUBLE ERROR based construction that is meant to REDUCE INEFFABLE-BECAUSE-NONLOCAL dynamics as in the INEFFABLE transforming relational continuum (sensory experience reality) to EFFABLE-BECAUSE-LOCAL dynamics.  Instead of acknowledging that ‘our LIVING SPACE is HURRICANING’ where FIGURE and GROUND are ONE, REASON lets us reduce this with the DOUBLE ERROR to ‘the HURRICANE is stirring up the LIVING SPACE (where FIGURE and GROUND were ONE, the DOUBLE ERROR splits it up so that FIGURE and GROUND are TWO)’.  Thus, thanks to this abstract capacity of language and grammar to split ONE into TWO we render the ineffable effable, and in this sense, the DOUBLE ERROR is a great little tool to break through the barrier of the INEFFABLE, even if it is at the expense of REDUCING reality from a NONLOCAL continuum to notional (synthetic) LOCAL goings-on.

While ‘the EAST’ employs this DOUBLE ERROR reduction of the INEFFABLE to EFFABLE as a Wittgenstein-Ladder of INFERENCE of the INEFFABLE, we WESTERN CULTURE ADHERENTS have fallen into the habit of using it as a SUBSTITUTE REALITY that REPLACES our INEFFABLE reality of our sensory experience of inclusion in the transforming relational continuum.

So, we use the DOUBLE ERROR to  first-of-all use NAMING to impute thing-in-itself-existence to the NAMED relational flow-form, then we conflate this with GRAMMAR to, secondly, impute LOCAL POWER of SOURCING actions and developments to the NAMING-INSTANTIATED (notional) thing-in-itself, thereby constructing a mental RE-presentation of FIGURE-and-GROUND-AS-ONE, … to FIGURE-and-GROUND-as-TWO.  By splitting the INHABITANT out from the HABITAT, we set ourselves up, psychologically, for employing the EITHER/OR logic of the EXCLUDED medium, and intellectually ‘LET GO OF’ the intuitive BOTH/AND logic of the INCLUDED medium  of our natural (pre-lingual) sensory experience where the flow-form is one with the flow.

This DOUBLE ERROR tool, in the hands of us WESTERN CULTURE ADHERENTS, commonly ‘runs away with the workman’, meaning that we use it to redefine OURSELVES as FIGURES that are INDEPENDENT of the GROUND we are included in, … not just as an EFFABLE Wittgenstein ladder for INFERRING the INEFFABLE that lies innately beyond the EXPLICIT reach of the EFFABLE, but as our OPERATIVE REPLACEMENT REALITY.  This DOUBLE ERROR reduction of the INEFFABLE to EFFABLE is also known as REASON, and the WESTERN CULTURE pitfall is in letting REASON hijack the helm of understanding from intuition of the INEFFABLE, which is where these ‘complaints’ are coming from re the promoting of ‘reason’ to a superior role in understanding over and above intuition.

Not only does this DOUBLE ERROR based ‘reason’ give rise to ‘ego’, the self-deception of “OUR OWN POWERS OF SOURCING ACTIONS AND DEVELOPMENTS’, … it gives rise to the notion of the PATHOGEN such as Robin Hood and/or Jean Valjean and/or ‘c. difficile’ and/or COVID 19, … NOTIONALLY EQUIPPED with their own jumpstart powers of sourcing destructive actions and developments (the abstract stuff that PATHOGENS are mode of).

In the real world of our sensory experience, FIGURE AND GROUND ARE ONE as in the Wave-field and in the Wave-field there is only relational harmony and relational dissonance, there are no BINARY DOUBLE ERROR splits into GOOD/CONSTRUCTIVE agents and BAD/DESTRUCTIVE agents, although these abstractions can be useful tools (of inference) in reducing-the-ineffable-to-effable for sharing purposes, in language and grammar RE-presentations.  Such tools are ‘only good for’ INFERRING the ineffable that lies innately beyond reach of the effable; i.e. the all-including transforming relational continuum is INEFFABLE and does not REDUCE TO EFFABLE.  The ‘hurricaning’ is ineffable in that it is an appearance in the transforming relational continuum (the holodynamic aka the Wave-field), so referring to it as ‘the hurricane’ as in DOUBLE ERROR constructs is useful for sharing purposes, so long as WE DO NOT FORGET that these DOUBLE ERROR REDUCTIONS do not speak ‘reality’ but speak only as a ‘tool of INFERENCE’ that infers the INEFFABLE reality (the transforming relational continuum aka the Wave-field) that lies innately beyond reach of the EFFABLE.

While modern physics and the EAST (indigenous aboriginal cultures, Taoism/Buddhism and Advaita Vedanta) DO NOT FORGET, we WESTERN CULTURE ADHERENTS have a pervasive tendency to FORGET that the DOUBLE ERROR reductions of the INEFFABLE to REASON are good ONLY FOR INFERENCE and are not fit for REALITY SUBSTITUTES.

PATHOGENS like COVID 19 are REASON-based abstractions used in DOUBLE ERROR representations; they are NOT REAL.  The DUNE is not going to bury us because DUNES, LIKE PATHOGENS, DO NOT EXIST outside of language and grammar based DOUBLE ERROR ABSTRACTION.   In the real, ineffable world of our sensory experience, there is inclusion in TRANSFORMATION.
