1 FRAGMENTATION AND WHOLENESS (from Wholeness and the Implicate Order by David Bohm)

 

The title of this chapter is ‘Fragmentation and wholeness’. It is especially important to consider this question today, for fragmentation is now very widespread, not only throughout society, but also in each individual; and this is leading to a kind of general confusion of the mind, which creates an endless series of problems and interferes with our clarity of perception so seriously as to prevent us from being able to solve most of them.

Thus art, science, technology, and human work in general, are divided up into specialities, each considered to be separate in essence from the others. Becoming dissatisfied with this state of affairs, men have set up further interdisciplinary subjects, which were intended to unite these specialities, but these new subjects have ultimately served mainly to add further separate fragments. Then, society as a whole has developed in such a way that it is broken up into separate nations and different religious, political, economic, racial groups, etc. Man’s natural environment has correspondingly been seen as an aggregate of separately existent parts, to be exploited by different groups of people. Similarly, each individual human being has been fragmented into a large number of separate and conflicting compartments, according to his different desires, aims, ambitions, loyalties, psychological characteristics, etc., to such an extent that it is generally accepted that some degree of neurosis is inevitable, while many individuals going beyond the ‘normal’ limits of fragmentation are classified as paranoid, schizoid, psychotic, etc.

 

It is our LANGUAGE that is the source of this SCREW-UP and there are other languages; i.e. QUANTUM LOGIC based languages as used in indigenous aboriginal cultures wherein EVERYTHING IS RELATED as in the one-all-including web-of-life (as with condensations in the all-including energy-charged plenum) wherein there is no FRAGMENTATION and no OBSCURANTISM as there is in our quote/unquote NORMAL WESTERN CULTURE LINGUISTIC CONCEPTUALIZING.

Why should we be forming DEFENSIVE ALLIANCES like NATO which is bound to induce POLARIZATION into INSIDERS and OUTSIDERS.  We WESTERN CULTURE ADHERENTS are NOT YET READY to acknowledge MITAKUYE OYASIN where, when fragmentation occurs, it is not in the BEING-based sense of division into THOSE TO KEEP AND THOSE TO DISCARD, an action that makes no sense in view of MITAKUYE OYASIN wherein everything is related, where there is only one relevant response to emergent DISSONANCE which is the recultivating of RESONANCE in the ONE ALL-INCLUDING WEB-OF-LIFE.   There is no such thing as a collection of INDEPENDENT BEINGS that can be ‘high-graded’ by selective RETENTIONS and ELIMINATIONS; i.e. “Man did not weave the web of life, he is merely a strand in it”.

 

 

IN SPITE OF THE SENSE-EXPERIENCE AFFIRMED REALITY of living as CONDENSATIONS in the ONE ALL-INCLUDING ENERGY-CHARGED PLENUM aka WAVE-FIELD where WE ARE ALL RELATED (Mitakuy Oyasi), WE WESTERN CULTURE ADHERENTS ARE STILL PUSHING THE BINARY LOGIC ABSTRACTION OF THE ‘INDEPENDENT NATION’ and “INDEPENDENT HUMAN BEING’ and squabbling among ourselves within the cloud of SCHIZOPHRENIA and PARANOIA that such DISCONNECTING PSEUDO-INDEPENDENCE that BINARY LOGIC brings, over whether to pursue DEFENSIVE ALLIANCES as supported by BIDEN, or as in TRUMP’S PLAN, to pursue a shift out of the DEFENSIVE ALLIANCE gig where we mix with “inferiors”, and instead develop an INDEPENDENT course in keeping with our PURIFICATIONISM that is supported by PROTECTIVE WALLS.

 

But NOT EVERYONE is like us WESTERN CULTURE ADHERENTS who believe in INDEPENDENT BEING; i.e. there are some who believe that ‘WE ARE ALL RELATED’ (mitakuye oyasin).

As the Anishnabe say, there is no need for BINARY LOGIC and its derivative purification based management of disparate collections of INDEPENDENT BEINGS.

BINARY LOGIC has come to us through the Abrahamic cultures of Judaism, Christianity and Islam. There is no BINARY LOGIC in the indigenous aboriginal cultures;

 

QUANTUM LOGIC is the LESS SIMPLE operative logic of a world in flux (relational transformation);

While BINARY LOGIC is TOO SIMPLE “BECAUSE, IN SUPPORTING ABSOLUTE “BEING” IN EMPTY SPACE, IT DROPS OUT THE FEMALE ACCOMMODATING/ENABLING conjugate OF THE ENERGY-CHARGED PLENUM and that DROPPING OUT is the source of FRAGMENTATION and OBSCURANTISM.
