Synopsis:  We WESTERN CULTURE ADHERENTS have incorporated an over-simplistic logic in our language and grammar that is a culture-pervading CRAZY-MAKER.

“As regards the academies, they are established in order to regulate the studies of the pupils and are concerned not to have the program of teaching change very often: in such places, because it is a question of the progress of the students, it frequently happens that the things which have to be chosen are not those which are most true but those which are most easy. Our WESTERN CULTURE ADHERENT practice of reducing the quantum BOTH/AND logic of the INCLUDED medium to the EITHER/OR logic of the EXCLUDED medium gives rise to our substituting the ‘flat-space’ concept of GROWTH for the ‘spherical-space’ concept of TRANSFORMATION.  We have built this reduction into our language and while it “COULD” serve simply as a useful tool or ‘short hand’ based on the EFFABLE-because-LOCAL-and-EXPLICIT, … for triggering an intuitive leap of understanding of reality that is INEFFABLE-because-NONLOCAL-and-IMPLICIT, we WESTERN CULTURE ADHERENTS fall into the habit of employing the EFFABLE-because-LOCAL-and-EXPLICIT as our ‘OPERATIVE REALITY’, hence,we experience inclusion in TRANSFORMATION yet speak of it in the reduced terms of GROWTH-and-DECLINE, CONSTRUCTION-and-DESTRUCTION.

Let’s be honest!   The REALITY of our sensory experience is of inclusion in relational TRANSFORMATION.  There is no such thing as “GROWTH’ and “DECLINE”, ‘CONSTRUCTION” and ‘DESTRUCTION”.  As Nietzsche has pointed out, we fabricate these concepts with the DOUBLE ERROR of NAMING and GRAMMAR.  The farm cannot ‘GROW’ without the shrinkage of Wilderness; in other words, TRANSFORMATION is the reality while GROWTH is a DOUBLE ERROR of NAMING and GRAMMAR (e.g. “the cultivated lands that now produce wheat and other agricultural products have grown to more than twice the size they were ten years ago.” —This statement is exemplary of “the over-simplistic logic in our language and grammar that is a culture-pervading CRAZY-MAKER”.  There is no such thing as GROWTH, there is only relational TRANSFORMATION which implicitly includes the SHRINKAGE of Wilderness lands in reciprocal relation to the “GROWTH” of cultivated lands.

The DOUBLE ERROR of NAMING and GRAMMAR is the origin of the concept of WILL as the implied LOCAL FORCE, this abstract intellectual concept that we INJECT into our reality constructions as the synthetic ‘explainer’ of LOCAL SOURCING of actions and developments, … ANSWERS THE QUESTION; “Now that we are saying that the SOURCING of actions and developments are LOCAL rather than NONLOCAL, … where is the jumpstart agency coming form that is responsible for LOCAL SOURCING of actions and developments [NOTE that ‘TRANSFORMATION, being NONLOCAL, has no need of such contrivance as ‘WILL’, a concept called into being by the associated abstraction of LOCAL SOURCING which itself is abstraction that we invent for the purpose of reducing the INEFFABLE NONLOCALITY of TRANSFORMATION and give is an EFFABLE rendering  in terms of LOCAL SOURCING of actions and developments.   ‘WILL” is a concept that ‘fills a ‘logical hole’ in our GRAMMAR-based LOCALIZING PROJECT, a ‘filling in’ that is not needed in an understanding or reality in terms of NONLOCAL TRANSFORMATION, as in the reality of inclusion of all things, including us in the transforming relational continuum aka the Wave-field aka ‘the Tao’.

However, once we employ the DOUBLE ERROR of NAMING and GRAMMAR and reduce the INEFFABLE-because-NONLOCAL-and-IMPLICIT (of TRANSFORMATION) to the EFFABLE-because-LOCAL-and-EXPLICIT, …in INVENTING this intellectual reduction of the NONLOCAL to the LOCAL we PAINT OURSELVES INTO A CORNER (logically speaking), having removed the animating force which is IMMANENT in relational TRANSFORMATION, obliging us to add to our reductive DOUBLE ERROR (NAMING-and-GRAMMAR) LOCAL-SOURCING based reconstruction of reality, a notional LOCAL SOURCING POWER to fill the gap left by retracting the concept of nonlocal TRANSFORMATION with its nonlocally immanent ‘field’ based sourcing.  As is possible with language and grammar when we are the ones ‘making it up’, we have popped in a surrogate answer for the lOCAL SOURCING need, by just inventing it, calling it WILL, and giving it the needed role within our NAMING and GRAMMAR constructions which for a LOCAL SOURCING ENGINE.  Where TRANSFORMATION gives way to LOCAL SOURCING and we lose the Wave-field concept of immanent influence, the notion of a “LOCAL JUMPSTART FORCE” or in humans a “LOCAL JUMPSTART WILL” serves as the LOGICAL FIILL-IN-THE-GAP SUBSTITUTE for the IMMINANTE ANIMATING that is the basic nature of the Wave-field dynamic aka the Tao.

No matter how much NONLOCAL relational dissonance we relational forms find ourselves embroiled in, our WESTERN CULTURE and its JUSTICE SYSTEM eschews the INEFFABLE-because-NONLOCAL-and-IMPLICIT (which is meanwhile embraced by the indigeneous aboriginal culture and modern physics)  and instead goes with the EFFABLE-because-LOCAL-and-EXPLICIT.  The abstract concept of LOCAL SOURCING is established in the intellect thanks to the notional LOCAL, JUMP-START-SOURCING AGENCY known as “WILL” which serves to erase from consciousness the vast web of influences that comprise a local ‘humaning’, re-inventing the “human” with the DOUBLE ERROR as a LOCAL thing-in-itself with its own GRAMMAR-given powers of SOURCING actions and developments.  The notional ‘WILL’ is needed in this reduction of dynamics from INEFFABLE-because-NONLOCAL-and-IMPLICIT to EFFABLE-because-LOCAL-and-EXPLICIT.  This LOCALIZING of the NONLOCAL is where the DOUBLE ERROR comes in;

“In its origin language belongs in the age of the most rudimentary form of psychology. We enter a realm of crude fetishism when we summon before consciousness the basic presuppositions of the metaphysics of language, in plain talk, the presuppositions of reason. Everywhere it sees a doer and doing; it believes in will as the cause; it believes in the ego, in the ego as being, in the ego as substance, and it projects this faith in the ego-substance upon all things–only thereby does it first create the concept of “thing.” Everywhere “being” is projected by thought, pushed underneath, as the cause; the concept of being follows, and is a derivative of, the concept of ego. In the beginning there is that great calamity of an error that the will is something which is effective, that will is a capacity. Today we know that it is only a word.” – Nietzsche, Chapter 5 (Reason in Philosophy) of Twilight of the Idols.

DAMNED IF WE DO AND DAMNED IF WE DON’T (Devil’s Bargain).   REALITY is NONLOCAL which is INEFFABLE-because-NONLOCAL-and-IMPLICIT, so we can’t capture it ‘as is’ in words and discuss it’.  Meanwhile, NAMING-and-GRAMMAR permit us to conjure up a REDUCTION in LOCAL and EXPLICIT terms (imagine the NONLOCAL atmospheric disturbance or hurricaning where we can orient our language to the apparently ‘LOCAL’ centreal ‘nipple’ that we can use NAMING to reduce to the LOCAL HURRICANE that we use GRAMMAR to re-animate as if it were a LOCAL THING that was ‘growing larger and stronger and was devastating New Orleans’.  This DOUBLE ERROR of language and grammar allows us to ‘break relational features out of the TRANSFORMATION and re-cast them self-standing LOCAL entities with their own internal SOURCING POWERS as imply an internal “WILL”.   By ‘giving up the INEFFABLE (aka ‘the DIVINE), we get to talk about a dumbed-down surrogate pseudo-reality wherein humanings-in-the-Tao are recast as LOCAL things-in-themselves WITH THEIR OWN INTERNAL WILL-DRIVEN behaviour and development.  In this reduced from INEFFABLE-to-EFFABLE form, we can talk about ourselves, but only as if IN A NEW WORLD wherein forms are EFFABLE-because-LOCAL-and-EXPLICIT, we have lost the DIVINE (the all-pervading Wave-rield aka ‘the Tao’, and we couldn’t keep it within our language based representations of reality because this most basic sensory experience reality (the Wave-field aka ‘the Tao’) is INEFFABLE-because-NONLOCAL-and-IMPLICIT, as is the nature of the Wave-field.  While the EAST employs the EFFABLE reduction as a ‘Wittgenstein ladder’ or ‘expedient tool’ to trigger an intuitive leap to the INEFFABLE reality that lies innately beyond the reach of the EFFABLE, we WESTERN CULTURE ADHERENTS, as Emerson complains, are “letting the tool run away with the workman, the EFFABLE human with the INEFFABLE divine’. 

Wittgenstein reminds us that REALITY, because it is ‘in flux’ is INFFABLE and can’t be directly and explicitly captured in language.  The resonance that is DUNING is an inextricable feature of TRANSFORMATION which is inherently INEFFABLE-because-NONLOCAL and IMPLICIT, however, our NAMING and GRAMMAR (DOUBLE ERROR) employs the LOCAL and EXPLICIT and thus can only serve as an EFFABLE tool to tickle the INTUITING of the INEFFABLE-because-NONLOCAL (i.e. “TRANSFORMATION”).

This following essay explores the respective realities of EAST/MODERN PHYSICS wherein there is only relational TRANSFORMATION and no ‘GROWTH’, versus the reality of WESTERN CULTURE ADHERENTS wherein there is only GROWTH and no “TRANSFORMATION”, as in the reductive concepts of GROWTH and DECLINE (CONSTRUCTION and DESTRUCTION) as simplifying substitutes for TRANSFORMATION.  An ‘intuitive leap’ is required to pass from the ‘simplifying substitutes to the INEFFABLE reality of inclusion in the transforming relational continuum aka ‘Wave-field’ aka ‘the Tao’.

We WESTERN CULTURE ADHERENTS divide ourselves into polar factions (conservatives and liberals) due to our belief in LOCAL SOURCING power and the associated FIGURE-and-GROUND polarizing contention that is born with it; i.e. does the FIGURE source changes in the GROUND (conservative) or does the GROUND source changes in the FIGURE (liberal).  Here, one may interpret FIGURE and GROUND and ‘INDIVIDUAL’ and ‘SOCIAL COLLECTIVE’ or, as well, ‘INHABITANT’ and ‘HABITAT’.

As Schroedinger and others have pointed out, there is no such BINARY SPLITTING in the real world of our sensory experience;

“The world is given to me only once, not one existing and one perceived. Subject and object are only one. The barrier between them cannot be said to have broken down as a result of recent experience in the physical sciences, for this barrier does not exist.” – Erwin Schroedinger

Not only in modern physics but also in indigenous aboriginal cultures, Taoism/Buddhism and Advaita Vedanta, the reality of our sensory experience is understood in terms of FIGURE-and-GROUND-as-ONE or INHABITANT-and-HABITAT-as ONE.  This is expressed by way of the Tai-Chi (Yin/Yang) symbology.

The point of discussion HERE is that the WESTERN CULTURE BIPOLAR split into ‘conservative’ and ‘liberal’ is a BIPOLAR DISORDER based on, as Nietzsche has shown, NAMING and GRAMMAR.  For example, in ocean currents, whorl and flow ARE ONE (FIGURE and GROUND are ONE) but if we NAME the whorl ‘Hurricane Katrina’ and employ grammar to impute to the naming-instantiated (notional) thing-in-itself, Katrina, her own GRAMMAR-given powers of sourcing actions and developments, what was in our pre-lingual sensory experience a FIGURE-and-GROUND-as-ONE fluid whorling, is given intellectual representation in FIGURE-and-GROUND-as-TWO, and thus to construct wording that liberates the FIGURE (Katrina) and portrays ‘her’ as the having the power of LOCALLY SOURCING her own MOVEMENT and DEVELOPMENT.

As Nietzsche points out, our use of NAMING and GRAMMAR to SYNTHETICALLY SPLIT FIGURE-and-GROUND-as-ONE, … into FIGURE-AND-GROUND-as-TWO, is not just a fun-and-games frivolity, it is to REDUCE the INEFFABLE-because-NONLOCAl-and-IMPLICIT features-in-the-flow to something EFFABLE-because-LOCAL-and-EXPLICIT; i.e. to ‘in effect’ USE LANGUAGE to INTELLECTUALLY/PSYCHOLOGICALLY extract the boil in the flow FROM THE FLOW and RE-PRESENT it as a notional LOCAL THING-IN-ITSELF purportedly with ITS OWN POWERS of SOURCING actions and developments.

With this DOUBLE ERROR of NAMING and GRAMMAR, we render the INEFFABLE-because-NONLOCAL-and-IMPLICIT (as is the nature of fluid forms in the fluid Wave-field aka ‘the Tao) … as EFFABLE-because-LOCAL-and-EXPLICIT.

For example our sensory experience of inclusion in the relationally transforming atmosphere is highlighted by the continual GATHERING AND SCATTERING of relational formings that are features within the NONLOCAL phenomenon of TRANSFORMATION as in the transforming relational continuum aka ‘Wave-field’ aka ‘the Tao’.   While we can’t ‘really’ capture in words that convey persisting being, relational formings that are continually gathering and scattering, better than being stymied in our language-based game of representing reality, and being held silent by the innate INEFFABLE nature of this INEFFABLE-because-NONLOCAL-and-IMPLICIT reality-as-‘flow-continuum’ (the Wavefield aka ‘the Tao), we can and we have used the DOUBLE ERROR of NAMING and GRAMMAR to ‘reduce’ the FIGURE-and-GROUND-as-ONE reality to a representation based on a FIGURE-and-GROUND-as-TWO pseudo-reality.  For example; we construct a representation with language and grammar to stimulate in the listener, the imagery of the boil and flow appearance of TRANSFORMATION;

‘Hurricane Katrina is growing larger and stronger and is devastating New Orleans’.

Compare this to ‘We are included in a transforming relational continuum’.  This latter statement alludes to the all-encompassing reality, however, it is INEFFABLE-because-NONLOCAL-and-IMPLICIT.

HOW DO WE GET AROUND THIS, the INEFFABLE nature of our sensory-experience reality?

As Nietzsche points out, our way of getting around the INEFFABLE nature of our sensory-experience reality is the DOUBLE ERROR of NAMING and GRAMMAR.  The FIRST ERROR of NAMING imputes LOCAL thing-in-itself BEING while the SECOND ERROR conflates the first by imputing the power of LOCAL SOURCING of actions and developments to the NAMING-instantiated LOCAL thing-in-itself.

Our deployment of the DOUBLE ERROR synthetically liberates the FIGURE from the GROUND (renders FIGURE-and-GROUND-as-TWO separate things), but because of our focus on the FIGURE, the GROUND is kind of psychologically abandoned, having been stripped (by our DOUBLE ERROR) of its rightful participation in reality and reduced to nothing more than ‘background’ for the primary focus on the FIGURE and the actions and developments of the FIGURE as if the GROUND were a passive non-participant.  This is the result of the DOUBLE ERROR imputing FIGURE-and-GROUND-as-TWO.

Meanwhile, we ‘made our deal with the devil’ (as implied in Mircea Eliade ‘Mephistopheles et l’Androgene)’ discussion of this FIGURE-and-GROUND-as-TWO language and grammar ploy) and got our wish to render the INEFFABLE EFFABLE (to re-rerender FIGURE-and-GROUND-as-ONE which is INEFFABLE-because-NOLOCAL-and-IMPLICIT as FIGURE-and-GROUND-as-TWO which is EFFABLE-because-LOCAL-and-EXPLICIT).   So, WELCOME Hurricane Katrina and the concept of LOCAL SOURCING of actions and developments, … and, … FAREWELL TRANSFORMATION with its NONLOCAL and IMPLICIT dynamics (“of that which we cannot speak we must pass over in silence” – Wittgenstein).

As far as we WESTERN CULTURE ADHERENTS are concerned, we have made our deal and got our wish for the EFFABLE-because-LOCAL-and-EXPLICIT (“Hurricane Katrina is growing larger and stronger and is devastating New Orleands) where we were previously stymied by the INEFFABLE-because-NONLOCAL-and-IMPLICIT.  What do we do with our understanding that we are included in a transforming relational continuum?   If we are ‘of the EAST’, we are NOT going to forget that the INEFFABLE-because-NONLOCAL-and-IMPLICITY is the primary (Wave-field) reality while the intellectual reductive construction of the EFFABLE-because-LOCAL-and-EXPLICIT it is a surrogate pseudo-reality.

Just because the EFFABLE-because-LOCAL-and-EXPLICIT surrogate pseudo-reality is not the full-blown INEFFABLE-because-NONLOCAL-and-IMPLICIT natural reality does not mean that it is not useful!  It is very useful, NOT AS A SUBSTITUTE REALITY, as we WESTERN CULTURE ADHERENTS have fallen into the trap of deploying it, .. but as a surrogate pseudo-reality that can be used to tickle an INTUITIVE LEAP to the real INEFFABLE-because-NONLOCAL-and-IMPLICIT reality (the Wave-field reality) that lies beyond the reach of language and grammar that is EFFABLE-because-LOCAL-and-EXPLICIT.

This point, that language which is EFFABLE-because-LOCAL-and-EXPLICIT only qualifies for use to tickle an intuitive leap beyond it to the INEFFABLE-because-NONLOCAL-and-IMPLICIT, is conveyed in the modern physics concept of BOOTSTRAPPING as also in Wittgenstein’s final two propositions in his Tractatus Locigo-Philsophicus;

This ladder we have to throw away after we have used to intuit an INEFFABLE-because-NONLOCAL-and-IMPLICIT reality aka ‘the Wave-field’ aka ‘the Tao’, the all-including transforming relational continuum, is ladder of explicit, local, (and thus eminently ‘effable’) intellectual constructions.   In the transforming relational continuum (which is INEFFABLE-because-NONLOCAL-and-IMPLICIT), if we use our VISION we can make the SUBJECT-OBJECT-SPLIT wherein the two eyes on one side of our head separate the outside (OBJECT) from the inside (SUBJECT) which allows us to think and speak in terms of ‘what is out there’ (the observed OBJECT) as if it were distinct, separate and INDEPENDENT of ‘what is in here’ (the observing SUBJECT).  While our sensory system is aware of inclusion in the flow, our VISUAL system makes this FIGURE-and-GROUND-as-TWO pseudo-reality into something we can use in our language based constructions which serve up a notional ‘objective’ view of a world ‘out there’ that seemingly exists on its own, without us.

In short, VISUAL REPRESENTATION can be a trickster in helping us serve up a VISUAL world based on FIGURE-and-GROUND-as-TWO, as in the example of Hurricane Katrina, wherein, in the reality of our sensory experience of inclusion in the Wave-field (aka the Tao) we are relational forms in the transforming relational continuum, FIGURE-and-GROUND-are-ONE.  Schroedinger underscores this ONE-ness with his assertion that SUBJECT and OBJECT are ONE.

So where are we at in this discussion of pseudo and actual realities?

-1- EAST and WEST are divided as to ‘what is reality’.  The EAST, as well as modern physics, maintains that FIGURE-and-GROUND-are-ONE and that the use of NAMING and GRAMMAR (the ‘DOUBLE ERROR’) to represent FIGURE-and-GROUND-as-TWO is useful as a ‘contrivance’ or ‘tool’ that we can speak of and thus share, that is meanwhile NOT real, but a ‘tool’ that we can use to stimulate AN INTUITIVE LEAP to the INEFFABLE-becase-NONLOCAL reality (the Wave-field reality aka the Tao) that lies innately beyond capture in language.  This non-capturability of reality or ‘ineffability’, derives from the fact that the physical reality of our sensory experience is an all-including wavefield aka transforming relational continuum and we can’t get outside of this continually unfolding fluid reality.   THE WEST, on the other hand, is distinguished from the EAST by its deployment of the tools of NAMING-and-GRAMMAR that serves up a FIGURE-and-GROUND-as-TWO pseudo-reality, AS THE OPERATIVE REALITY.

Where the WESTERN CULTURE ADHERENT says; Hurricane Katrina is growing larger and stronger and is devasting New Orleans, … the EASTERN CULTURE ADHERENT says; our sensory experience is informing us of our inclusion in the transforming relational continuum, and while this NONLOCAL reality (‘TRANSFORMATION’) is the real, operative reality, and we can’t get outside of it, we, as relational forms within the Tao, are participating influences in its continual unfolding.  Therefore, our relative movements may serve to shelter or expose ourselves and others and thus to attenuate dissonance and cultivate relative harmony.  In this relational understanding we have FIGURE-and-GROUND-as-ONE.  We are like drivers in the flow of heavy traffic where our only reference is the continuing relational flow in which we are co-authoring inclusions, so that we can serve to attenuate relational dissonance (cultivate relational harmony) or serve to cultivate relational dissonance (attenuate relational harmony).

The FIGURE-and-GROUND-as-ONE understanding is relational and gives us the options of cultivating relational harmony or dissonance, in contrast to the FIGURE-and-GROUND-as-TWO understanding wherein we can understand our own actions as independent and disconnected from the GROUND we are included in.  The DOUBLE ERROR of NAMING and GRAMMAR lets us construct abstract representation wherein, for example, ‘the DUNE GROWS LARGER AND LONGER AND moves over the DESERT FLOOR.  This is how the natural reality of relational TRANSFORMATION, which is INEFFABLE-because-NONLOCAL-and-IMPLICIT is reduced to CONSTRUCTION, which is EFFABLE-because-LOCAL-and-EXPLICIT.

CONCLUSION:

FIGURE-and-GROUND-as-TWO is a tool for REDUCING the INEFFABLE-because-NONLOCAL-and-IMPLICIT (relational TRANFORMATION) to the EFFABLE-because-LOCAL-and-EXPLICIT.

THE EAST, makes use of the NAMING-and-GRAMMAR (DOUBLE ERROR) tool of reduction to FIGURE-and-GROUND-as-TWO as a disposable ‘Wittgenstein ladder’ to trigger a BOOTSTRAP intuitive leap from the FIGURE-and-GROUND-as-TWO to the real FIGURE-and-GROUND-as-ONE reality.  Example, the DUNES that GROW larger and MOVE across the DESERT is a FIGURE-and-GROUND-as-TWO abstraction that serves to INFER (stimulate an intuitive leap) to FIGURE-and-GROUND-as-ONE reality which is INEFFABLE because-NONLOCAL-and-IMPLICIT as is the nature of the Wave-field aka the transforming relational continuum.  Our sensory experience informs us of the reality of resonance as in desert DUNING but such phenomena are undefined by limits in space and time; i.e. they are features of an overall ongoing TRANSFORMTION in which we and everything is included, which is INEFFABLE-because-NONLOCAL-and-IMPLICIT (innately relational).

THE WEST uses the NAMING and GRAMMAR (DOUBLE ERROR) tool of reduction to FIGURE-and-GROUND-as-TWO, … NOT, as in the EAST, as a DISPOSABLE WITTGENSTEIN LADDER to trigger an INTUITIVE LEAP from a FIGURE-and-GROUND-as-TWO pseudo-reality to the real FIGURE-and-GROUND-as-ONE reality, but instead, THE WEST employs the FIGURE-and-GROUND-as-TWO pseudo-reality as the OPERATIVE REALITY.

When we WESTERN CULTURE ADHERENTS make assertions such as; ‘the hurricane is growing larger and higher and is devastating New Orleans’, … the message is; READ MY LIPS (interpret my statement LITERALLY).  WHY?  The FIGURE-and-GROUND-as-TWO construction are where EGO comes from and if I use the DOUBLE ERROR construct to say ‘I built this house’, EGO wants put this in precedence over ‘The transforming relational continuum includes everything including me’.  That is, TRANSFORMATION that naturally comes first is the real reality and it is INEFFABLE-because-NONLOCAL-and-IMPLICIT and ALL-INCLUDING .   Our EGO prefers FIGURE-and-GROUND-as-TWO which gives us the scope to portray ourselves in the DOUBLE ERROR terms of BEINGS with powers of LOCAL SOURCING of actions and developments.

ON THE OTHER HAND, if we start with the INEFFABLE-because-NONLOCAL-and-IMPLICIT wherein FIGURE-and-GROUND-are-ONE, there is no way to attribute SOURCING authorship to NAMING-instantiated ‘LOCAL BEINGS’ such as we WESTERN CULTURE ADHERENTS like to present ourselves.  That is, there is no such thing as LOCAL SOURCING of anything in reality understood as an all-including, relationally transforming continuum (reality as TRANSFORMATION).

EGO is thus innately dead set against following the EAST in the demoting of FIGURE-and-GROUND-as-TWO to a reality that is LESS than the FIGURE-and-GROUND-as-ONE pseudo-reality which currently reigns among us WESTERN CULTURE ADHERENTS, because the common belief in LOCAL powers of SOURCING actions and developments, which comes with the FIGURE-and-GROUND-as-TWO DOUBLE ERROR reality construction has us LOCKED-IN-BY-HIGH-SWITCHING-COSTS.  Just imagine all those in our WESTERN CULTURE social dynamic who are benefitting from the common belief in LOCAL SOURCING of actions and developments.   However, the folly in this belief in LOCAL SORCERY is slowing ‘surfacing’ due to the requisite ‘logical consistency’ wherein, if the LOCAL SOURCING of CONSTRUCTIVE actions and developments holds true, so also must the LOCAL SOURCING OF DESTRUCTIVE actions and developments hold true;

Here we are paying a price for EFFABLE-izing the INEFFABLE-because-NONLOCAL-and-IMPLICIT reality of TRANSFORMATION.  That is; the concepts of the CONSTRUCTIVE and the DESTRUCTIVE give us a means of EFFABLE-izing the INEFFABLE dynamic of TRANSFORMATION as in the transforming relational continuum aka the Wave-field aka the TAO.

FIGURE and GROUND as TWO leave us no choice for rendering ‘change’ except by way of CONSTRUCTION and DESTRUCTION as implies LOCAL action and development, whereas FIGURE-and-GROUND-as-ONE is the dynamic of relational TRANSFORMATION which is INEFFABLE-because-NONLOCAL-and-IMPLICIT.

We WESTERN CULTURE ADHERENTS have stuck with the intellectual construction of reality in terms of CONSTRUCTION and DESTRUCTION (BIRTH AND DEATH) ; i.e. we have stuck with the EFFABLE-because-LOCAL-and-EXPLICIT while MODERN PHYSICS and EASTERN CULTURE ADHERENTS have uses the EFFABLE only as a tool for stimulating intuitive leaps to the REAL SENSORY EXPERIENCE REALITY of the INEFFABLE-because-NONLOCAL-and-IMPLICIT (aka ‘TRANSFORMATION)

If someone tells us that ‘James Wilkes Booth’ shot and killed Abraham Lincoln, or that ‘Hurricane Katrina devastated New Orleans’, coming from our WESTERN CULTURE MINDSET wherein the DOUBLE ERROR of NAMING and GRAMMAR plays a foundational role n ‘reality constructrion’, we can agree with these LOCAL, logical, SOURCING of action and development propositions, on the same basis as we can agree with ‘the growth of cultivated land from 2 acres to 160 acres (without mentioning the shrinkage of Wilderness land .  LOCAL SOURCING of actions and developments is intellectual abstraction that we concoct with the DOUBLE ERROR of NAMING and GRAMMAR.  DOUBLE ERROR based LOCAL SOURCING of actions and development is intellectual reduction of our sensory experiencing of inclusion the transforming relational continuum; i.e. our inclusion in the IMPLICIT-because-NONLOCAL-TRANSFORMATION (aka the ‘Wave-field’ dynamic aka ‘the Tao’).

These LOCAL SOURCING propositions are ‘true’ only in the sense of the abstract EITHER/OR logic of the EXCLUDED MEDIUM wherein FIGURE-and-GROUND-are-TWO (where we can talk about the FIGURE and its growth, out of the context of the GROUND).  Such binary logic based truths fail to qualify as ‘true’ in the sense of the quantum BOTH/AND logic of the INCLUDED medium wherein FIGURE-and-GROUND-are-ONE, where we can’t talk about the FIGURE and “ITS” actions and growth as if ‘on its own’ since the dynamic of FIGURE-and-GROUND-as-ONE implies TRANSFORMATION where we cannot speak of the growth of the croplands out of the context of the decline of the Wilderness, these TWO being “TWO” in language-based intellectual conceptualization only, while being growth of cropland and shrinkage of Wilderness being only FIGURE-and-GROUND-as-ONE (the ONE TRANSFORMING landscape) in the reality of our sensory experience on inclusion within the TRANSFORMING landscape.

The visual distinctions we make between the cultivated land portions and the Wilderness portions of the landscape serve to support the two separate NAMES of ‘cultivated land’ and ‘Wilderness land’ while GRAMMAR (the second part of the DOUBLE ERROR) allows us to impute the power of SOURCING actions and development to either one of these NAMED entities separately, thus we can speak of the GROWTH of the ‘cultivated land’ as if that ‘made sense in its own right’, as it would if the land were a flat plane of infinite extent, but since we live in a ‘curved space’, GROWTH, which implies that FIGURE-and-GROUND-are-TWO is abstraction and reality INSTEAD involves TRANSFORMATION wherein FIGURE-and-GROUND-are-ONE.

What follows from the above is a reaffirmation of both Bohm’s and Nietzsche’s findings which affirm the reality of FIGURE-and-GROUND-as-ONE (requiring the BOTH/AND logic of the INCLUDED medium)rather than the WESTERN CULTURE ADHERENT BELIEF in FIGURE-and-GROUND-as-TWO (requiring the EITHER/OR logic of the EXCLUDED medium).

For Nietzsche, this understanding of FIGURE-and-GROUND-as-ONE was embraced early on from his affinity with the understandings of Emerson (i.e. how the ‘tool’ of DOUBLE ERROR reduction with NAMING and GRAMMAR had ‘run away with the workman, the human with the divine) and from the works of Roger Boscovich (‘The Theory of Natural Philosophy’ (1758)) who has been described by modern physicists as being “200 years ahead of his time”.

For Bohm, his efforts to develop a language capable of capturing FIGURE-and-GROUND-as-ONE (a flow-based language which he called Rheomode), let to his discovery, shortly before he died, that such a language already existed, as his fellow-researcher F. David Peat has pointed out;

What is needed, Bohm argued in his book Wholeness and the Implicate Order, is a new sort of language, one based on processes and activity, transformation and change, rather than on the interactions of stable objects. Bohm called this hypothetical language the “rheomode.” It is based primarily on verbs and on grammatical structures deriving from verbs. Such a language, Bohm argued, is perfectly adapted to a reality of enfolding and unfolding matter and thought.

 David Bohm had not known when he wrote of that concept that such a language is not just a physicist’s hypothesis. It actually exists. The language of the Algonquin peoples was developed by the ancestors specifically to deal with subtle matters of reality, society, thought, and spirituality.

 A few months before his death, Bohm met with a number of Algonkian speakers and was struck by the perfect bridge between their language and worldview and his own exploratory philosophy. What to Bohm had been major breakthroughs in human thought — quantum theory, relativity, his implicate order and rheomode – were part of the everyday life and speech of the Blackfoot, Mic Maq, Cree and Ojibwaj.” – F. David Peat, ‘Blackfoot Physics’

So, where we are now in our WESTERN CULTURE ADHERENCE is that we continue to be “LOCKED IN BY HIGH SWITCHING COSTS”.  The EGO is the lock-in and it has served to fill the positions of responsibility that are most influential in WESTERN CULTURE belief adjustments, with those who are leaders in successful FIGURE-and-GROUND-as-TWO initiatives, such as the GROWTH of developments taken to be ‘real’ as in the example of the GROWTH of cultivated lands, where the FIGURE of GROWTH such as the growing acreage of cultivated land is seen as something ‘real’, ignoring the RECIPROCAL decline of Wildeness and thus ignoring the greater reality of TRANSFORMATION.

FIGURE-and-GROUND-as-TWO gives rise to the notion of INHABITANT and HABITAT and then again to the notion of CONSTRUCTION and DESTRUCTION.  WESTERN CULTURE approves of the notion of humans sourcing CONSTRUCTIVE actions and developments.  However, there are no powers of ‘sourcing’ actions and developments; that is the DOUBLE ERROR of NAMING and GRAMMAR; i.e. there is only relational TRANSFORMATION.  Nevertheless, we continue to speak in terms of our ‘producer-product’ initiatives, such as involve the ‘cultivating of the land’ and other varieties of ”land development/improvement’ project on the basis of their ‘return on investment’.

The WESTERN CULTURE understanding IS STILL that FIGURE-and-GROUND-are-TWO so that we can GROW the LOCAL FIGURE (e.g. the local ‘wheat field’) without at the same time impacting the GROUND (as if it were a flat Euclidian plane surface of infinite extent).  WESTERN CULTURE IS WRONG in this built-in-to-language assumption.  The curved space of our actual sensory experience, there is no such thing as “GROWTH”, the is only “TRANSFORMATION”, and thus we are wrong to refer to the GROWTH of anything, including our own children, since we are all included in the transforming relational continuum wherein FIGURE-and-GROUND-are-ONE.

Our WESTERN CULTURE celebrated “GROWTH” of industry and agriculture is nothing of the sort, … it is TRANSFORMATION of the relational space we all share inclusion in, included the four-leggeds, the winged ones and the slitherers.  We WESTERN CULTURE ADHERENTS are presently LOCKED IN BY HIGH SWITCHING COSTS and the largest of those COSTS is the hit to the EGO if and when we get up the courage to admit that there is no such thing as LOCAL SOURCING of actions and developments, that this is the DOUBLE ERROR of NAMING and GRAMMAR, and that there is only TRANSFORMATION and that we, as agents of transformation, are included in it in the manner that the ‘whorl’ or ‘boil’ is included in the flow aka the Wave-field aka the Tao.
