“I am afraid we are not rid of God because we continue to believe in grammar” — Nietzsche

This proposition can be understood in the context of the common Western culture ‘double error’ of grammar pointed out by Nietzsche, wherein we use language to (1)”name’ a relational form in the flow and thus impute persisting ‘thing-in-itself’ existence to the named form (in spite of its purely relational essence as with a ‘boil’, ‘whorl’, hurricane etc.), and (2) notionally endowing the naming-instantiated thing-in-itself with powers of sourcing actions and developments.

THE DOUBLE ERROR:

“Our judgement has us conclude that every change must have an author”;–but this conclusion is already mythology: it separates that which effects from the effecting. If I say “lightning flashes,” I have posited the flash once as an activity and a second time as a subject, and thus added to the event a being that is not one with the event but is rather fixed, “is” and does not “become.”–To regard an event as an “effecting,” and this as being, that is the double error, or interpretation, of which we are guilty.” – Nietzsche, ‘Will to Power’, 531

This ‘double error’ has become so ubiquitous in Western culture intellectual representations that it ‘infects’ the foundations of our understanding.  We speak in terms of ‘climate change’ (a double error) and we speak in terms of ‘product production’ (a double error) which confuses our understanding of ‘reality’ by imparting psychological impressions of independently-existing things-in-themselves (‘climate’, ‘production’) with powers of sourcing actions and developments (‘climate-changes’, ‘products’). That is, our experience of inclusion in relational transformation in reduced, by way of the language and grammar based ‘double error’, to visual representation that appears, ‘in our mind’s eye’, to be ‘out there in front of us’.  ‘Reality’ is not ‘picturable’, … it is our relational experiencing of inclusion in the transforming relational continuum.  The double error is a language-and-grammar based intellectual device to reduce our experience to flat-screen voyeur visualization.

That is, the grammar-based ‘double error’ triggers in the mind, the impression of a ‘local being’ with powers of sourcing actions and development.  The abstract notion of locally incipient sourcing of actions and developments has, in Western culture, been alternatively attributed to ‘sorcery’ (magic) and to ‘God’.  In either case, the understanding of the world of modern physics, indigenous aboriginal, Buddhist and Advaita Vedanta, in terms of a transforming relational continuum is PSYCHOLOGICALLY ECLIPSED AND OCCLUDED by this grammatical ‘double error’ based ‘sorcery’ wherein ‘being’ is first pushed underneath an unfolding relational development and given the notional power of sourcing the action and development.

“In its origin language belongs in the age of the most rudimentary form of psychology. We enter a realm of crude fetishism when we summon before consciousness the basic presuppositions of the metaphysics of language, in plain talk, the presuppositions of reason. Everywhere it sees a doer and doing; it believes in will as the cause; it believes in the ego, in the ego as being, in the ego as substance, and it projects this faith in the ego-substance upon all things — only thereby does it first create the concept of “thing.” Everywhere “being” is projected by thought, pushed underneath, as the cause; the concept of being follows, and is a derivative of, the concept of ego. In the beginning there is that great calamity of an error that the will is something which is effective, that will is a faculty. Today we know that it is only a word.” – Nietzsche, ‘Twilight of the Idols’

From this language and grammar ‘double error’ comes, ‘sorcery’ which, in modern Western culture has been ‘sugar-coated’ and euphemized as ‘production’.

There is no such thing as ‘production’ in the real relational world of our actual experience [it IS ANOTHER WORD FOR the ‘double error’], … the concept of ‘production’ is a linguistic-intellectual abstraction that has no place in the transformational reality of our actual relational experience.  To speak of ‘production’ is to speak in the medieval terms of ‘sorcery’.  ‘RELATIONAL TRANSFORMATION IS ALL THERE IS’.

Western culture’s economically motivated focus on the intellectual language and-grammar abstraction of ‘production’ (aka ‘sorcery’) blocks Western culture adherents from tuning in to their physical-experiential sensing of the ‘real’ reality of continuing relational ‘transformation’ in which they/we/all are situationally included.

The Western culture drive to ‘produce’ is intellectual abstraction exemplary of aberrant thinking in terms of ‘double error’ (Nietzsche).  The ‘double error’ is where one employs language and grammar to (1) use ‘naming’ to psychologically imply the ‘reality’ of an independently-existing thing-in-itself, and (2) conflating this first abstraction with a second grammar-based abstraction that notionally endows the name-instantiated ‘thing-in-itself’ with powers of ‘sourcing’ actions and developments

“PRODUCTION” aka “SORCERY” is a ‘double error’.  THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS ‘PRODUCTION’ IN THE TRANSFORMING RELATIONAL CONTINUUM OF OUR ACTUAL EXPERIENCE.

A social collective that invests in ‘production’ is dabbling in psychological sorcery, since there is no such thing as ‘production’ (aka ‘sorcery’), outside of the abstractions of language and grammar.  That is, there is only relational transformation in the reality of our actual experience.  What happens to the relational space we are included in when we think, plan and behave as if we are ‘sorcerers’ aka ‘producers’, of animals, vegetables and minerals?  What we are ‘really doing’ is participating in the transforming of the relational space we share inclusion in.   Relational transformation is the only ‘real’ dynamic; … production aka ‘sorcery’ is language-based intellectual abstraction.

A social collective that claims to ‘create’, ‘deed’, and ‘grow’ ‘producers’ and ‘production’ is the psychological captive of the language based abstraction ‘sorcery’.  The  more that we reward and expand ‘production’ (‘sorcery’), the more we, in reality, energize the relational transformation that we are included in but are certainly not in control of.  The only ‘real’ as in ‘experienceable’  dynamic’ in our real life experience is relational transformation which is all-inclusive and in which we, ourselves are included.  The ego-based impression we have of ourselves as ‘the producers of goods and services’ (‘sorcerers’) is intellectual abstraction based on ‘the double error’.

THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS “PRODUCTION” AKA “SORCERY” IN OUR ACTUAL RELATIONAL EXPERIENCE, THERE IS ONLY RELATIONAL TRANSFORMATION.  WE SAY THAT ‘WE ARE THE PRODUCERS (SORCERERS) OF “GOODS AND SERVICES” BUT WE ARE IN REALITY RELATIONAL FORMS IN THE TRANSFORMING RELATIONAL CONTINUUM.

THE MORE THAT WE ‘INCREASE PRODUCTION’, THE MORE WE ARE INDUCING TRANSFORMATION OF THE RELATIONAL SPACE WE SHARE INCLUSION IN.  RELATIONAL TRANSFORMATION IS THE ONLY ‘REAL’ DYNAMIC.

WHEN WE SAY THAT THE COPPER (ORE) MOUNTAIN HAS BEEN ‘FULLY PRODUCED, THAT IS LANGUAGE AND GRAMMAR BASED INTELLECTUAL ABSTRACTION; THE EXPERIENCE-BASED REALITY (OF MAN, WOLF, BEETLE) ASSOCIATED WITH SUCH STATEMENTS IS OF INCLUSION IN RELATIONAL TRANSFORMATION.

TO ATTACH REWARDS AND RECOGNITION TO ‘PRODUCTION’ (‘SORCERY’) IS, IN REALITY, TO CATALYZE RELATIONAL TRANSFORMATION OF UNKNOWN NATURE AND EXTENT.

Where ‘I am coming from’ in my philosophical investigation:   — I work on the problem of general Western culture based incoherence wherein what we commonly speak about and accept as ‘reality’ is an intellectual INVENTED REALITY that is radically unlike the reality of our actual relational experience.  The aberrance that derives from using an erroneous INVENTED REALITY as articulated in language and grammar and based on what Nietzsche terms the ‘double error’.  The first error of the ‘double error’ is in assuming the (language-inferred, ‘naming’ instantiated) existence of ‘independently-existing things-in-themselves’.  The second error that conflates the first error is the grammar endowing of the name-instantiated ‘thing-in-itself’ with the notional power of sourcing actions and developments.   Our actual, pre-lingual, experience-grounded reality, on the other hand, is of our inclusion, as relational forms, in the transforming relational continuum.  The gap between THESE TWO REALITIES (1) THE REALITY OF OUR INCLUDED RELATIONAL EXPERIENCE, and, (2) OUR LANGUAGE AND GRAMMAR BASED ‘INVENTED REALITY’, … is the source of psychological INCOHERENCE impacting our Western culture social dynamic.  This incoherence  arises when the behaviour of the individual and social collective is shaped on the basis of perceiving the ‘INVENTED REALITY’ as the actual reality, and allowing it to ‘over-ride’ the reality of our included relational experience.  Examples of incoherent behaviour include acting on the INVENTED REALITY belief that a name-instantiated (notional) thing-in-itself such as a ‘human’, a ‘nation’ or a ‘corporation’ has the power of sourcing actions and developments.   In relational experience based ‘reality’, we are included in a transforming relational continuum without ‘things-in-themselves’ with notional ‘powers of sourcing actions and developments’.  From our infancy, we are able to understand this innately ‘relational’ reality in a pre-lingual, purely relational-experiential manner and we do not lose this relational experience based mode of understanding in adulthood, although in Western culture, it is ‘demoted’ and ‘covered over and deeply buried’ beneath the language and grammar based intellectual constructions of INVENTED REALITY.

EAST IS EAST AND WEST IS WEST AND NEVER THE TWAIN SHALL MEET.  (Sorcery? or Transformation?)

Western culture understands ‘reality’ in terms of ‘sorcery’ (sorcery is intellectually manufactured via language and grammar by means of the ‘double error’ described by Nietzsche) while Eastern (and indigenous aboriginal) cultures, as well as modern physics, understand ‘reality’ in terms of relational transformation.

Relational understanding is higher dimensional which is why we ‘must pass over it in silence’ as Wittgenstein observes.  The surprise version of the game of Twenty Questions of modern physics is a way of ‘pointing to’  relational reality without dependency on any explicit underlying foundation.

Sharing circles where one passes the talking stick are ways of developing webs of relational connections where that which implied by the relational confluence conveys an understanding of reality that is inherently relational.  This is Wittgenstein’s point .  One cannot extract a written summary from a sharing circle session.  Whatever can be constructed with language falls short of reality

in the end, the suggestion has to be to demote spoken language as the conveyor of reality.   the relational reality of our experience is beyond the capability of language to directly express it but language can be used (in a Wittgenstein ladder sense) to infer what lies beyond the explicit propositions of language and grammar; e.g. as expressed in this final two propositions in ‘Tractatus Logico-Philosophicus’;

6.54 My propositions are elucidatory in this way: he who understands me finally recognizes them as senseless, when he has climbed out through them, on them, over them. (He must so to speak throw away the ladder, after he has climbed up on it.)

He must surmount these propositions; then he sees the world rightly.

7.0 Whereof one cannot speak, thereof one must be silent.

FAILING TO THROW AWAY THE LADDER OF EXPLICIT PROPOSITIONS IS “THE DOUBLE ERROR” OF ‘SORCERY’ THAT NIETZSCHE SPEAKS OF;

The language and grammar based ‘double error’ of Western culture is to (1) use ‘naming’ to impute the existence of a local, independently-existing thing-in-itself, and (2) conflating this error with the error of imputing the power of sourcing actions and developments to (1).

The Western culture ‘reality’ triggered in the psyche by this double error delivers an INVENTED REALITY THAT IS ANIMATED BY SORCERY.  That is, the ‘double error’ is where the notion of ‘thing-in-itself based sourcing of actions and developments’ comes from.  Our real-life relational experience (before we open our mouths, which is what Wittgenstein is saying in his final proposition 7.0) is relational and relational phenomena are the primary phenomena and are without dependency on ‘sourcing agency’.   The abstract psycho-logical double-error stimulated by language and grammar wherein ‘things-in-themselves have the notional powers of sourcing actions and developments, dates back to Western medieval culture where belief in ‘sorcery’ was common.

As Benjamin Whorf explains, the reductive concepts supporting Newtonian physics based ‘reality’ (space, time and matter) derive from Western culture language and grammar usage.   This Western culture language and grammar usage features the building-in (into the intellectual-psychological take-away) the concept of ‘sorcery’ by way of notional ‘things-in-themselves’ animated by ‘forces’ that ‘source’ THEIR movement.

THE ABSTRACT CONCEPTUALIZING IN TERMS OF LOCALLY INCIPIENT ‘FORCE’ NOTIONALLY CAPABLE OF ‘SOURCING’ THE ACTIONS AND DEVELOPMENT OF NOTIONAL ‘INDEPENDENTLY-EXISTING THINGS-IN-THEMSELVES’ comes together in the mind/psyche as an INVENTED REALITY.   Once this abstract INVENTED EALITY ‘gets into the psyche, it serves to ‘WALLPAPER OVER’ (occlude) OUR EXPERIENCE OF INCLUSION IN A TRANSFORMING RELATIONAL CONTINUUM, otherwise known as ‘OUR EXPERIENTIAL REALITY’We thus have ‘two realities’ vying for priority over our manner of shaping our behaviour.   In the former case, we see ourselves as separate from the space we are included in (the ‘boil’ is distinct and separate from ‘the flow’ it is included in) while in the latter case the boil and the flow are one and their distinction as ‘two’ is a psychological impression triggered by the intellectual impact of language.

This psychological-experiential difference in how one understands ‘reality’ provokes the expression EAST IS EAST AND WEST IS WEST AND NEVER THE TWAIN SHALL MEET.

The imputed existence of locally incipient ‘force’ arising from name-instantiated ‘things-in-themselves’, as derives from language and grammar and as Newton codified in ‘physics’, continues to legitimize belief in ‘sorcery’ as a Western culture psychological ‘given’  Western culture language and grammar triggered belief in notional ‘things-in-themselves’ with powers of sourcing actions and developments,  ‘occludes’ and ‘shuts out’ our natural experiential understanding of reality in terms of a transforming relational UNUM (aka ‘field’) in which relational forms such as ourselves are included, and while ‘psychologically-linguistically’ broken out as ‘things-in-themselves’ with our own powers of sourcing actions and developments, nevertheless experience reality as inclusion in a transforming relational continuum.

It is only by means of Western culture’s tools of language and grammar that we intellectually/psychologically INVENT REALITY as in Newtonian physics which allows us to (intellectually/psychologically) ‘animate’ the INVENTED REALITY by way of the abstract (psychosis-inducing) concept of ‘sorcery’.   Instead of embracing as ‘reality’, our sensory experience of inclusion in a transforming relational continuum, our Western culture would have us ‘give way’ to, as the ‘authoritative informant of ‘reality’’, intellectual invention as supported by the language-and-grammar based intellectual tools of Newtonian physics

“It is sometimes stated that Newtonian space, time, and matter are sensed by everyone intuitively, whereupon relativity is cited as showing how mathematical analysis can prove intuition wrong. This, besides being unfair to intuition, is an attempt to answer offhand question (1) put at the outset of this paper, to answer which this research was undertaken. Presentation of the findings now nears its end, and I think the answer is clear. The offhand answer, laying the blame upon intuition for our slowness in discovering mysteries of the Cosmos, such as relativity, is the wrong one. The right answer is: Newtonian space, time, and matter are no intuitions. They are receipts from culture and language. That is where Newton got them.” – Benjamin Whorf, ‘The Relation of Habitual Thought and Behavior to Language’

WHORF’S CONCLUSION IS KEY TO UNDERSTANDING THE DIVISION BETWEEN ‘WEST’ AND ‘EAST’ (WHICH IS ALSO THE SOURCE OF THE ‘DIVIDED SELF’ and, as Ernst Mach pointed out in ‘The Analysis of Sensations’, the UNNATURAL DIVISION between Western ‘physics’ and Western ‘psychology’.   Mach’s view that it is imperative for us to re-integrate physics and psychology is ignored in Western culture, which has made physics, as implicitly incorporated in language and grammar, and which has inbuilt foundational dependency on ‘the double error’, the basis of Western culture ‘INVENTED REALITY’.

WHILE IT IS TRUE THAT ‘EAST IS EAST, AND WEST IS WEST, AND NEVER THE TWAIN SHALL MEET, it is also true, as modern physics has made clear that the relational reality of the EAST implicitly ‘includes’ the explicit material based reality  of the WEST’.  Western language and grammar split apart the ‘boil’ and the ‘flow’ leaving the ambiguity as to whether ‘the boil sourced the flow’ or ‘the flow sourced the boil’.  This is the famous Western irresolvable dichotomy that continues to divide Western culture into ‘conservatives (nature-over-nurture) wherein one rotten apple can contaminate the whole barrel, and liberals (nurture over nature) wherein ‘it takes a whole community to raise a child’.

THIS PSYCHOLOGICAL DICHOTOMY THAT DIVIDES THE MIND AND THE WESTERN CULTURE, …. ARISES FROM THE ABSTRACTION OF ‘SORCERY’ AS IN THE PSYCHOLOGICAL ‘DOUBLE ERROR’ OF WESTERN CULTURE … THE ERROR OF NAMING-INSTANTIATED INDEPENDENT EXISTENCE OF THINGS-IN-THEMSELVES WITH NOTIONAL POWERS OF SOURCING ACTIONS AND DEVELOPMENTS, …. SUCH SORCERERS INCLUDING THE FOLLOWING NAME-INSTANTIATED INDEPENDENTLY-EXISTING THINGS-IN-THEMSELVES; 1. HUMAN BEINGS, … 2. NATIONS, …3. CORPORATIONS, ALL OF WHICH LANGUAGE AND GRAMMAR NOTIONALLY ENDOWS WITH POWERS OF SOURCING ACTIONS AND DEVELOPMENTS.

There is no such ‘sorcery’ in indigenous aboriginal understanding of reality, and there is no such sorcery in modern physics, there is only relational transformation, as in the understanding of reality as all-including relationally transforming UNUM or (Heraclitean) ‘flow’ wherein the ‘forms’ that we observe and use language to give names to are NOT SEPARATELY EXISTING THINGS-IN-THEMSELVES, but are instead RELATIONAL FORMS IN THE CONTINUALLY TRANSFORMING FLOW-FIELD that Western culture uses language and grammar to objectify by ‘naming’ the form (e.g. Katrina) and intellectually mechanically animating with language and grammar, … so that our intellectual grasp hijacks our relational (intuitive) understanding.  The new, INVENTED REALITY is thus; “Katrina is growing larger and stronger”, … “Katrina is devastating New Orleans”, … “Katrina is weakening and dissipating”.

Language and grammar allow us to condition our intellectual-psycho-logical activity so as to INVENT REALITY based on the ‘double error’ of inventing name-instantiated ‘things-in-themselves’, notionally with powers of sourcing actions and developments.  This Western culture INVENTED REALITY, while it could be understood as a supportive tool or ‘throw away ladder’ (Wittgenstein) to get us to an understanding that, being purely relational, lies intrinsically beyond the reach of the ladder, …  is instead, in Western culture, mistaken for ‘reality’.  In fact, the salient characteristic of Western culture is the cultural practice of employing language and grammar based INVENTED REALITY as the OPERATIVE REALITY when it is in fact, only fit for service as ‘inference’ as described in modern physics by ‘The surprise version of the game of Twenty Questions’.

THE POINT IS THAT THE EASTERN VIEW OF REALITY INCLUDES THE WESTERN CULTURE VIEW OF REALITY IN THE MANNER THAT ‘FLOW’ INCLUDES ‘BOILS’.  It is language and grammar that psycho-logically splits the flow, on the basis of appearance, into a ‘boil’ as a kind of ‘child’ of the ‘mother-flow’.  There is no such division in a transforming relational continuum in which we experience inclusion.   It is our psychologically-intellectual dynamics stimulated by language and grammar that ‘splits apart’ the ‘boil’ and ‘the flow’ and/or the ‘inhabitant’ such as ‘ourself’ from the ‘habitat’.  Thus the ‘double error’ of language and grammar is the origin of the Divided Self of Western culture, and the double error is, the same time, the origin of the concept of ‘sorcery’.  Both concepts (name-instantiated thing-in-itself existence’ and locally instantiated powers of sourcing actions and developments) are language and grammar based abstractions that, while supported by the intellect and while supporting intellectual house-of-cards constructions, owe their intellectual pseudo-reality to the language and grammar triggered psychological ‘double error’.

‘SORCERY’ AKA ‘THE NAME-INSTANTIATED-INDEPENDENT-BEING BASED SOURCING OF ACTIONS AND DEVELOPMENTS’. … DERIVES FROM ALCHEMY AND HAS BEEN LEGITIMIZED IN WESTERN CULTURE LANGUAGE AND GRAMMAR BY NEWTONIAN PHYSICS, A FORM OF PSYCHOLOGICAL CONFUSION TRIGGERED BY THE ‘DOUBLE ERROR’.

The INVENTED REALITY, by being put into an unnatural primacy over EXPERIENTIAL REALITY, is the source of psychological confusion and aberrance based on SORCERY, such as the belief in the independent existence of name-instantiated ‘humans’, ‘nations’, ‘corporations’ and our mistaken attributing to them of powers of sourcing actions and developments that in turn elicits praise and blame, rewards and punishments, i..e. ‘sorcery’  that does not exist in a transforming relational continuum,… reality as understood in modern physics, indigenous aboriginal cultures, Taoism and Advaita Vedanta.   This INVENTED REALITY that is mistaken for REALITY in Western culture is also the source of confusion and aberrance in sensitive individuals (‘miner’s canaries’) who society administers drugs to, to calm them without addressing the deeper origins dissonances arising from employ INVENTED REALITY as the ‘operative reality’.  Meanwhile, many of us Western culture adherents pride ourselves on our toughness in being able to put up with the aberrances we have built into Western culture, rather than addressing them, a situation that allows social dysfunction-inducing influence to continue to rise together with (a) toughening the ‘skin’ Western culture adherents, (b) increasing the percentage of people in need of psychiatric services and desensitizing drugs, and (c) putting more ‘miner’s canaries into psychotic nose dives.  That is, so long as the problem is identified and treated as it derives from ‘weakness’ within the ‘sensitive miner’s canaries’ so that ‘remediation’ orients to the individuals who experience ‘break-downs’ without attending to the ambient social aberrance [the ‘double error’] that is the real source. The presumption of ‘sorcery’ is a cognitive phantom that gives rise, not only to Western culture’s ‘swollen heads’ but to its sister aberrance of ‘tilting at windmills’.

FINALLY, … for this note, at least, … I hope to have implicitly achieved my aim of explaining Where ‘I am coming from’ in my philosophical investigations:
