A recent historical example of the POLARIZED DISGREEMENT BETWEEN “LIBERAL AWARENESS” and “CONSERVATIVE AWARENESS”

 

For example, nine years ago (this note was written on December 25th, 2011), on the first anniversary of 9/11, CBC interviewer Peter Mansbridge asked then Prime Minister (Canada) Jean Chrétien:

 

“By the end of the day [9/11], what were you thinking about in terms of how the world had changed?”, and Chrétien replied:

 

“… it is a division in the world that is building up. And I knew that it was the inspiration of it.  For me, I think that the rest of the world a bit too selfish, and that there is a lot of resentment…. You know, the poor, relatively, get poorer all the time. And the rich are getting richer all the time. … You know, you cannot exercise your powers to the point of humiliation for the others.  And that is what the Western world, not only the Americans, the Western world has to realize, because they are human beings too, and there are long-term consequences if you don’t look hard at the reality in 10 or 20 or 30 years from now.”

 

Although an Ipso-Reid poll found that 84 percent of Canadians believed the United States was at least partly responsible for the Sept. 11 attacks, and although Senator Douglas Roche commented;

 

“This was a very perceptive comment [Jean Chrétien’s]. It was waiting to be said–needed to be said. It was something that many of us have been saying for a long time. Any anti-terrorism policy has to be seen within the totality of economic and social conditions that are the obvious spawning ground of this desperate activity.”

 

There was an uproar, particular in the United States where people accused Chrétien of ‘making excuses for terrorists’ and in Canada, …

 

“Canadian Alliance leader Stephen Harper called on Chrétien to apologize to the U.S. and to the families of Canadians killed in the attacks. “(His) comments, particularly coming on the anniversary of Sept. 11, blaming the victim are shameful,” Harper charged. “What was behind the events of Sept. 11 are the forces of evil and hatred…. These must be resisted by free and democratic societies and their leaders.”

This split between the views of Jean Chrétien and Stephen Harper exemplifies the POLARIZING DIVISION in ‘AWARENESS’ that is manifest in CONSERVATIVE – LIBERAL POLITICS that persists in WESTERN CULTURE GENERALLY. ARE WE NOT INTERCONNECTED AND INTERDEPENDENT STRANDS IN THE ALL-INCLUDING WEB OF LIFE as in indigenous aboriginal (AND MODERN PHYSICS) understanding and as also in Modern physics; “The world is given to me only once, not one existing and one perceived. Subject and object are only one. The barrier between them cannot be said to have broken down as a result of recent experience in the physical sciences, for this barrier does not exist.” …Erwin Schroedinger

As Jung points out, Primitive man (and he might have included indigenous aboriginals with their ‘mitakuye oyasin’ (everything is related) belief did FALL INTO THE WESTERN CULTURE LINGUISTIC CONCEPTALIZATION SUPPORTED TRAP OF THE SELF-OTHER SPLIT;

BUT THE HARSH, BINARY VIEWPOINT of THE CONSERVATIVE as in Stephen Harper’s comment is VERY FAMILIAR TO ME, in the context of SIMPLE BINARY SCIENCE that Jung also pints his finger at because WESTERN CULTURE MAINSTREAM SCIENCE (Newtonian) FRAGMENTS THE REALITY CONTINUUM, SPLITTING APART FIGURE AND GROUND and giving us what we call THE OBJECTIVE VIEW in which WE ARE UNINVOLVED.  As Nietzsche points out, this FRAGMENTATION is SYNTHETIC being based on the DOUBLE ERROR OF NAMING AND GRAMMAR that INVENTS “THE LOCAL AUTHOR”;

 

Our judgement has us conclude that every change must have an author”;–but this conclusion is already mythology: it separates that which effects from the effecting. With this WESTERN CULTURE LINGUISTIC CONCEPTUALIZING TECHNIQUE OF FRAGMENTATION, …. we no longer have to solve the PROBLEM of UNDERSTANDING an ALL-INCLUDING WORLD in which WE OURSELVES are included, but WE CAN PLAY THE GAME OF BEING VOYEURS of a DETACHED PSEUDO-REALITY where we become JUDGEMENTAL OBSERVERS of “WHAT THOSE INDEPENDENT OTHERS ARE DOING”.

 

This LINGUISTIC SYNTHETIC DETACHMENT has led us WESTERN CULTURE ADHERENTS to develop a PURIFICATIONIST SYSTEM OF JUSTICE based on IDENTIFYING AND REMOVING/DISABLING the notional “LOCAL AUTHOR” of DISTURBANCE to the STATUS QUO (even if that “LOCAL AUTHOR” is the AUTHOR of REBALANCING in an UNBALANCED RICH and POOR social collective’ aka a ‘ROBIN HOOD’).

As we know from historical events, others may join in the REBALANCING ACTION until a trickle becomes a flood and we call it REVOLUTION which imposes an OVERALL REBALANCING that REDEFINES those initially declared CRIMINAL as the new JUSTICE PROTECTING OVERSEERS.  There is a PROBLEM HERE IN THAT NO CHANGE IS MADE TO THE PRACTICE OF WEALTH DISTRIBUTION ON THE BASIS OF ‘ENTITLEMENT’ (an arbitrary allocation scheme determined by “THE ENTITLED” whose self-interested controls have been taking things through continuing cycles of violence-forced REBALANCING.

 

BY CONTRAST, the indigenous aboriginal culture employs redistribution of essentials that puts BALANCE in precedence over ENTITLEMENT; As Chief Maquinna of the Nootkas observes;

 

“Once I was in Victoria, and I saw a very large house; they told me it was a bank and that the white men place their money there to take care of it, and that by-and-by they got it back, with interest.  We are Indians and have no such bank; but when we have plenty of money or blankets, we give them away to other chiefs and people, and by-and-by they return tem, with interest, and our hearts feel good.  Our potlatch is our bank”

WEALTH DISTRIBUTION BY “ENTITLEMENT” has a problem that relates BACK TO THE QUESTION OF AUTHORSHIP, and to Nietzsche’s observation that the concept of LOCAL AUTHORING is an ABSTRACTION based on the ABSTRACTION of “BEING” which is “PUSHED UNDERNEATH, AS THE CAUSE”.

 

In its origin, language belongs in the age of the most rudimentary form of psychology. We enter a realm of crude fetishism when we summon before consciousness the basic presuppositions of the metaphysics of language, in plain talk, the presuppositions of reason. The CONCEPT OF “LOCAL AUTHORING” derives from CHOPPING INTO THE CONTINUUM AND PUSHING AN AUTHORING AGENT UNDERNEATH, as in the mathematical operation of DIFFERENTIATION in order to EXPLAIN THINGS using a TECHNIQUE that allows us to BREAK INTO THE CONTINUUM and START DESCRIBING WHAT IS HAPPENING WHEREVER WE WANT TO START DESCRIBING IT, which takes us back to the DIFFERENCE in AWARENESS between the CONSERVATIVE and LIBERAL as shows up in the earlier discussion of 9/11 as seen by Jean Chrétien versus as seen by Stephen Harper, where Chrétien INCLUDED in his AWARENESS, the NONOCAL and IMPLICIT AUTHORING INFLUENCE of the female accommodating/enabling conjugate that comes together with the male asserting/actualizing conjugate while Harper isolated the VIOLENT EVENT and treated the VIOLENT EVENT as if it could be understood ‘in its own right’ as a LOCAL, EXPLICIT ACT OF VIOLENCE without the historical roots that Chrétien was acknowledging.

HERE WE CAN SEE THE LONG CONTINUING CURVE OF RISING TENSIONS WHICH WE KNOW INTUITIVELY IS GOING TO EXPLODE IN A SPIKE OF VIOLENCE, and it would be ABSURD to ISOLATE THE SPIKE OF VIOLENCE and RENDER JUDGEMENTS BASED ON THE LOCAL, EXPLICIT SPIKE, OUT OF THE CONTEXT OF THE LONG CONTINUING CURVE OF RISING TENSIONS.

 

In the indigenous aboriginal culture, the HEALING CIRCLE acknowledges THE LONG CONTINUING CURVE OF RISING TENSIONS  which are commonly endured by an “UNDERDOG” who may eventually explode in a violent retributive attack, as is human nature as recountered in songs such as “THERE’S A THIN LINE BETWEEN LOVE and HATE” (Annie Lennox song) where TENSIONS accumulating from repeated mistreatment BUILD UP AS ACCUMULATING TENSIONS THAT ARE EXPLOSIVELY VENTED.  And since the origins of the TENSIONS cannot be EXPLICITLY ACCOUNDATED FOR, indigenous aboriginal cultures focus MORE ON HEALING than on deciphering the details of a long history of RELATIONAL DISSONANCE which is often transgenerational.  BY CONTRAST, WESTERN CULTURE JUSTICE orients to the LOCAL and EXPLICIT in which case THERE IS NO JUSTICE (IN WESTERN CULTURE) for long standing abuse that fails to reach the level of OVERT VIOLENTLY VENTING EXPRESSION.  But as we know from our experiencing of social relations, continual attempts to FORGIVE and FORGET may not always ‘work’ and we ‘get’ the meaning of “A THIN LINE BETWEEN LOVE AND HATE” and EVERYBODY KNOWS, THAT’S HOW THINGS GO.

For a person such as myself, who engages in philosophical investigations, the WESTERN CULTURE’S CONTINUING PROBLEMATIC EMBRACE OF A SYSTEM THAT PUTS ENTITLEMENT IN PRIMACY OVER BALANCE and then employs a PURIFICATIONIST SYSTEM OF JUSTICE to HOLD THAT IN PLACE is WORTHY OF IN-DEPTH STUDY, and an insightful case in point is that cited earlier and repeated here for ease of recall;

This “DIFFERENCE in VIEW” or we might argue “DIFFERENCE IN AWARENESS LEVEL” is common in our WESTERN CULTURE SOCIETY and it relates to what we term the LIBERAL and CONSERVATIVE LEVELS OF AWARENESS, where the LIBERAL AWARENESS OPENS UP TO THE “BOTH/AND LOGIC OF THE INCLUDING MEDIUM, as Jean Chrétien is going, where the NONLOCAL and IMPLICIT is FOUNDATIONAL to the LOCAL AND EXPLICIT, while the CONSERVATIVE AWARENESS LEVEL EMPLOYS THE BINARY EITHER/OR LOGIC OF THE EXCLUDED MEDIUM constituted by the LOCAL and EXPLICIT “ON ITS OWN”, and here we RUN INTO GOEDEL’S THEOREM OF INCOMPLETENESS of all FINITE LOGICAL PROPOSITIONS, in that “THE LOCAL AND EXPLICIT” acknowledges ONLY THE MALE ASSERTING/ACTUALIZING conjugate and DROPS OUT the FEMALE ACCOMMODATING/ENABLING/conjugate, hence termed THE DEA ABSCONDITA (Goddess in Hiding).

 

BUT THERE IS ONLY ONE REALITY AND IT IS THAT WE SHARE INCLUSION IN THE TRANSFORMING RELATIONAL CONTINUUM in which case WE ARE INCLUDED IN THE DYNAMICS WE ARE LOOKING OUT AT, or as Schroedinger expresses it (and Jung concurs);

 

“The world is given to me only once, not one existing and one perceived. Subject and object are only one. The barrier between them cannot be said to have broken down as a result of recent experience in the physical sciences, for this barrier does not exist.”

 

In which case, as Jung would put it; “It is the face of our own shadow that glowers at us across the [Arabian Desert].”

 

When CONSERVATIVE AWARENESS TAKES OVER, THE IMPACT OF ITS LIMITING OF AWARENESS TO THE MALE ASSERTING/ACTUALIZING which is LOCAL and EXPLICIT makes itself felt.  We hear plans from DONALD TRUMP that constrain AWARENESS to the MALE ASSERTING/ACTUALIZING OF the CONSTRUCTION of a HOLIDAY RESORT ON THE GAZA STRIP.  THIS AWARENESS IS LIMITED TO ‘WHAT WE DO’ and DROPS OUT the FEMALE ACCOMMODATING/ENABLING that MUST COME WITH THE MALE ASSERTING/ACTUALIZING, these two conjugate together constituting TRANSFORMATION.

 

MAKE NO MISTAKE… OUR SENSE-EXPERIENCE IS STIMULATED BY TRANSFORMATION, and NOT by the INTELLECTUAL STIMULUS OF the CONSTRUCTION of HOLIDAY RESORTS which is a MALE ASSERTING/ACTUALIZING expressed OUT OF THE CONTEXT of its FEMALE ACCOMMODATING/ENABLING CONJUGATE, and just as in speaking of the GROWTH OF THE TOWN, it has NO REAL MEANING out of the context of the conjugate SHRINKING OF WILDERNESS.

 

BUT IT DOES HAVE MEANING, JUST NO “REAL” MEANING since the MALE ASSERTING/ACTUALIZING ON ITS OWN requires us to invent an ABSOLUTE EMPTY AND INFINITE SPACE in which we purport to be able to see the MALE ASSERTING ACTUALIZING WITHOUT ITS FEMALE ACCOMMODATING/ENABLING CONJUGATE, in which case it is not the same thing because IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO SPLIT AN ANDROGYNE INTO TWO PARTS which is what WESTERN CULTURE LINGUISTIC CONCEPTUALIZATION IS DOING.

 

As Vygotsky pointed out, Piaget pulled this deceptive trick in his treatment of EDUCATION by first SPLITTING THE ANDROGYNOUS COMBINATION of SPONTANEOUS and SCIENTIFIC INTO TWO PIECES AND THEN TOSSING OUT THE SPONTANEOUS.  Meanwhile THERE ARE NO ‘TWO PIECES’ because as Vygotsky points out, what we have here is the ANDROGYNOUS WAVE-FIELD structure; “Though fundamentally different in nature, the development of scientific and spontaneous concepts represents two sides of the same concept formation”

 

“Our disagreement with Piaget centers on one point only, but an important point. He assumes that development and instruction are entirely separate, incommensurate processes, that the function of instruction is merely to introduce adult ways of thinking, which conflict with the child’s own and eventually supplant them. Such a supposition stems from the old psychological tradition of separating the structural from the functional aspects of development.” –Vygotsky

 

NOW, THE READER MAY WONDER WHY I AM SEEMINGLY COMPLICATING WHAT STARTED OUT TO BE A PARTICULAR ISSUE, but my point is that I HAVE NEVER LEFT THE ONE ISSUE WHICH IS THAT WESTERN CULTURE LINGUISTIC CONCEPTUALIZING IS REDUCING OUR SENSE-EXPERIENCE OF INCLUSION IN THE ANDROGYNOUS WAVE-FIELD REALITY, WHEREIN WE CANNOT BREAK APART THE ‘GROWING OF THE TOWN’ FROM THE ‘SHRINKING OF THE WILDERNESS’; I.E. WE CANNOT BREAK APART THE MALE ASSERTING/ACTUALIZING FROM THE FEMALE ACCOMMODATING/ENABLING; I.E. WE CANNOT BREAK APART THE STRAND FROM THE WEB AND WE CANNOT BREAK APART THE CONDENSATION FROM THE ENERGY-CHARGED PLENUM.  THERE IS ONLY THE ‘APPEARANCE’ OF ‘TWO’ AND IN REALITY THERE IS ONLY ONE BUT IT IS AN ANDROGYNOUS ONE.

SO, THESE ACCOUNTS OF POLARIZED DISAGREEMENTS OF CHRÉTIEN VERSUS HARPER AND VYGOTSKY VERSUS PIAGET ARE EXEMPLARY OF OUR EXPERIENCE OF LIVING IN AN ENERGY-CHARGED PLENUM AKA WAVE-FIELD WHEREIN IT IS A MATTER OF ‘LEVELS OF AWARENESS’ (SOME OF LIKE TO KEEP THINGS SIMPLE BY CLOSING DOWN OUR LEVEL OF AWARENESS; E.G. MARIE ANTOINETTE PREFERRED NOT TO BE MADE AWARE OF STARVING PEOPLE WHILE SHE WAS ENJOYING FINE CUISINE, AND PEOPLE IN A POWERFUL SOCIAL CLASS PREFER TO BELIEVE IN THE CONCEPT OF ‘ENTITLEMENT’ EVEN AS THEY ‘BUILD WALLS AROUND THEIR STATE’ TO SUPPORT RISING IMBALANCE IN THEIR FAVOUR, THAT THEY PURPORT TO BE COMING FROM THEIR SUPERIOR CAPABILITY (THE MALE ASSERTING/ACTUALIZING CONJUGATE) WITHOUT REGARD TO THE FEMALE ACCOMMODATING/ENABLING CONJUGATE.   IN WESTERN CULTURE, THE AUTHOR OF THE PUNCH TO THE HEAD WILL BE GIVEN FULL AND SOLE CREDIT FOR THE SHATTERING OF THE RECIPIENTS SKULL, BECAUSE, IF IT WERE NOT SO, WESTERN CULTURE WOULD NEED A LANGUAGE THAT ACKNOWLEDGE THE ANDROGYNOUS NATURE OF ALL DYNAMICS WHICH CANNOT BE CAPTURED IN SIMPLE ONE-SIDED MALE ASSERTING/ACTUALIZING “AUTHORING” TERMS, BUT FOR WHICH THE PRIMARY INFLUENCE IS COMING FROM FEMALE ACCOMMODATING/ENABLING; e.g. the EGG-SHELL SKULL.

 

LET’S BE HONEST, WE LIVE IN WAVE-FIELD WORLD aka ENERGY-CHARGED PLENUM wherein material forms are CONDENSATIONS and thus SECONDARY and NOT PRIMARY (the CONDENSATIONS only APPEAR PRIMARY when we use conniving in our LINGUISTIC CONCEPTUALIZING SCHEME by TRADING OUT the FEMALE ACCOMMODATING ENERGY-CHARGED PLENUM, for a NON-PARTICIPATING, ABSOLUTE EMPTY AND INFINITE SPACE, thus giving rise to references to the DEA ABSCONDITA [Goddess in hiding] since the SWITCH OUT of EMPTY SPACE for the ENERGY-CHARGED PLENUM is a TRANSPARENTLY UNSUPPORTABLE in sense-experience reality).   MATERIAL FORMS WHICH ARE CONDENSATIONS in the WAVE-FIELD aka ENERGY-CHARGED PLENUM constitute the (QUANTUM) BOTH/AND LOGIC OF THE INCLUDING MEDIUM which is less simple than BINARY EITHER/OR LOGIC of the EXCLUDED MEDIUM, and what this means is that the material dynamics in this case are NONLOCAL and IMPLICIT rather than, as in a BINARY EITHER/OR LOGIC case, LOCAL and EXPLICIT.  In this case, there are no such things as GROWTH, DEVELOPING and PRODUCTION since there are all ONE-SIDED MALE ASSERTING/ACTUALIZING based, as befits BINARY LOGIC, and are failing to acknowledge their FEMALE ACCOMMODATING/ENABLING CONJUGATES of SHRINKING, DECLINING and CONSUMPTION which is a DROP OUT akin to speaking of THE GROWTH OF THE TOWN without acknowledging the SHRINKING OF WILDERNESS.

 

Currently, we are witnessing the unnatural rise to PRECEDENCE of the LOCAL AND EXPLICIT ON ITS OWN as in CONSERVATISM, over acknowledgement of the ANDROGYNOUS NONLOCAL and IMPLICIT of the FEMALE ACCOMMODATING/ENABLING in CONJUGATE RELATION with the LOCAL and EXPLICIT MALE ASSERTING/ACTUALIZING conjugate.   This SPLITTING OUT AND ELEVATING INTO PRIMACY of the LOCAL and EXPLICIT as seen in the actions of ELON MUSK and DONALD TRUMP, doesn’t simply DEMOTE the NONLOCAL and IMPLICIT of the FEMALE ACCOMMODATING/ENABLING which is the REAL-WORLD PRIMARY AGENCY but DISCARDS IT, so that we are left WITHOUT THE INTERCONNECTIONS and INTERDEPENDENCE IT SUPPORTS, and are left with the LOCAL and EXPLICIT as if in EMPTY SPACE.

 

We can imagine how this EMPEROR’S NEW CLOTHES situation might arise with a FARMER who claims to be the PRODUCER of his wheat crops until, as in OKLAHOMA where the female accommodating/enabling of continuing sprinkling with rain CEASED and the FARMER AS PRODUCER OF WHEAT’S EMPEROR’S NEW CLOTHES were exposed and he packed up his family in the truck and headed off to California.

 

When we hear that “To everything there is a season and a time to every purpose”, it reminds us that FARMERS DO NOT PRODUCE WHEAT.  Such a statement is only the MALE ASSERTING/ACTUALIZING CONJUGATE which is meaningless without the FEMALE ACCOMMODATING/ENABLING CONJUGATE, these two together co-constituting the TRANSFORMING RELATIONAL CONTINUUM aka the ALL-INCLUDING WAVE-FIELD

 

DONALD TRUMP and ELON MUSK once again experimenting with the DROPPING OUT OF THE FEMALE ACCOMMODATING/ENABLING CONJUGATE and going with the PROUD and EGOTIST ONE-SIDED MALE ASSERTING/ACTUALIZING CONJUGATE which PISSES ON THE UNDERSTANDING THAT THE FEMALE ACCOMMODATING/ENABLING CONJUGATE IS NOT ONLY NEEDED BUT IS THE PRIMARY AUTHORING AGENCY.  This is a REPEAT of an OLD WESTERN CULTURE EXPERIMENT with the ONE-SIDED MALE ASSERTING/ACTUALIZING AGENCY, the same as attempted by Adolph Hitler.
