A REVIEW of the ROLE of LANGUAGE in understanding “WHAT IS REALITY?”

We know that there is merit to Heraclitus’ aphorism “One can’t step into the same river twice because it is not the same river and not the same person stepping into it”

This is affirming, or at least suggesting, that we live in a TRANSFORMING RELATIONAL CONTINUUM aka WAVE-FIELD.

We also know the Zen story of the farmer’s son who broke his leg (bad news) while training a wild horse and was, as a result, passed over by the Warlord conscripting all able-bodied young men to go to battle, wherein, as it turned out, they all got slaughtered. Thus, breaking his leg turned out to be ‘good’ and not ‘bad’.

This INTERPLAY between CONTENT and CONTEXT, where the meaning-giving of CONTENT can be OVER-RIDDEN by the meaning-giving of CONTEXT is fundamental to our sense-experience of inclusion in the transforming relational continuum.

Thus, it is evident the world we live in is ambiguous, … but what is the nature of this ambiguity?   How about the case of the THIN SKULL RULE in WESTERN JUSTICE where we evidently choose to SIMPLIFY THE REALITY and can’t be bothered to take into account the FEMALE ACCOMMODATING that gives over-riding meaning to the MALE ASSERTING ACTION    The EGG-SHELL SKULL “makes the AUTHOR OF THE BLOW TO THE HEAD look POWERFUL” and because of our simple WESTERN CULTURE LANGUAGE ARCHITECTURE, which is ONE-SIDEDLY MALE ASSERTING ONLY BASED, we capture such events with statements like “the BLOW TO THE HEAD SHATTERED THE RECIPIENT’S SKULL”.

This is like saying “the rainfall rivulets joined together forming streams which joined together forming a raging river that scoured out a canyon”,  which is all MALE ASSERTING and which OMITS MENTION of THE FEMALE VALLEY that organized the collection of the little male rivulets, pulling them all together to form the RAGING RIVER and without the organizing influence of the FEMALE VALLEY (which, by the way, is NONLOCAL and IMPLICIT) the RAGING RIVER IN ALL ITS LOCAL AND EXPLICIT MIGHT, WOULD NEVER HAVE COME INTO EXISTENCE.

There we (WESTERN CULTURE ADHERENTS WITH OUR TOO SIMPLE LANGUAGE) GO AGAIN!  DROPPING OUT THE MOST ESSENTIAL PART OF THE REALITY which is the FEMALE CONTAINER.  REMEMBER what BOHM said; ‘SPACE IS NOT EMPTY, IT IS FULL’   ,

“Space is not empty. It is full, a plenum as opposed to a vacuum, and is the ground for the existence of everything, including ourselves.” — David Bohm

Evidently, our LANGUAGE is giving SHORT SHRIFT TO THE FEMALE ACCOMMODATING CONJUGATE, the PLENUM in which the material forms are CONDENSATIONS akin to clouds in the atmosphere.  Simply because the CONDENSATIONS are visible and the ENERGY-CHARGED PLENUM is NOT visible, .. we have our language give a FOUNDATIONAL ROLE to the MATERIAL FORMS aka the CONDENSATIONS!  NO! NO! NO!, the primary reality is the energy-charged PLENUM aka the WAVE-FIELD and the visible CONDENSATIONS are SECONDARY.

In other words, in the INTERPLAY between CONTENT and CONTEXT, the meaning-giving of CONTENT can be OVER-RIDDEN by the meaning-giving of CONTEXT as is fundamental to our sense-experience of inclusion in the transforming relational continuum.

CONTENT is the LOCAL AND EXPLICIT while CONTEXT is the NONLOCAL and IMPLICIT and the LATTER (CONTEXT) INCLUDES and prevails over the FORMER (CONTENT).

Ok, what we are engaging with here is with respect to “A REVIEW of the ROLE of LANGUAGE in understanding “WHAT IS REALITY?””

It would be fair to say that in our world, which is a WAVE-FIELD world, the NONLOCAL and IMPLICIT ENERGY-CHARGED PLENUM (in which material forms are CONDENSATIONS) prevails over the LOCAL and EXPLICIT ‘CONDENSATIONS’

SO, we can’t let ourselves be distracted by all of the LOCAL, EXPLICIT MATERIAL FORMS that are buzzing around as if they believe in their own INDEPENDENT BEING, … when the reality is instead ‘mitakuye oyasin’ (I am all my relations).   The WHORLING in the FLOWING “IS” THE FLOWING.  The relationship here is the QUANTUM BOTH/AND LOGIC of the INCLUDING MEDIUM (PLENUM) relationship, … it is NOT the BINARY EITHER/OR LOGIC of the EXCLUDED MEDIUM (EMPTY SPACE) relationship.

WATCHA GONNA DO when you have a language architecture that has this ASS-BACKWARDS as is the case with the Common Average European Language architecture?

Our CAE LANGUAGE ARCHITECTURE, this one-sided LOCAL EXPLICIT MALE ASSERTING ONLY LANGUAGE ARCHITECTURE, is going to FRAGMENT THE HELL OUT OF THINGS in its SYNTHETIC REALITY CONSTRUCTIONS due to its DROPPING OUT of the FEMALE ACCOMMODATING CONJUGATE, the DROPPING OUT of the NONLOCAL and IMPLICIT CONTAINER, … that brings everything into meaningful CONTEXT.

THIS REVIEW of the ROLE of LANGUAGE in understanding “WHAT IS REALITY?” needs to call ‘time’ and take a breather to consider what is going on with the interplay between LANGUAGE and PSYCHE here.

What we seem to be saying is that WE HAVE SIMPLIFIED our WESTERN CULTURE LANGUAGE ARCHITECTURE by DROPPING OUT “CONTEXT” and padding the gap from THE REMOVAL OF CONTEXT with “NOTHING”, “EMPTINESS”, opening the way for CONTENT to STRUT ITS STUFF without the threat of being OVER-RIDDEN by CONTEXT as was threatened in the case of the PUNCH to the head that, SO WE SAY, “Shattered the skull” of the recipient, … and we had better stop there because we WESTERN CULTURE ADHERENTS have a BINARY LOGIC JUSTICE SYSTEM which only works if we can assume that DEVELOPMENTS are CAUSED solely by one-sided MALE ASSERTING ACTIONS (all ‘posh’ and no ‘pull’).

But, if we were to open the door to QUANTUM LOGIC, the BOTH/AND LOGIC of the INCLUDING MEDIUM, we would have the “ambiguity” to deal with where the FEMALE ACCOMMODATING (the CONTEXT) could over-ride the MALE ASSERTING (the CONTENT), which would complicate the whole LANGUAGE ARCHITECTURE SCHEME and require a LESS SIMPLE ‘QUANTUM LOGIC’ (balance-based) LANGUAGE ARCHITECTURE where the unfolding development could be due to BOTH the FEMALE ACCOMMODATING as well as the MALE ASSERTING, as is evidently the case in the THIN SKULL situation where the FEMALE ACCOMMODATING of the thin SKULL is MORE RESPONSIBLE for the EGG-SHELL CRUMBLING development than the MALE ASSERTING PUNCH.

THAT IS MORE COMPLICATED and it is far SIMPLER to give FULL AND SOLE ATTRIBUTION for the event outcome to the MALE ASSERTING ACTION.  That was the decision made by the designers of WESTERN CULTURE LANGUAGE ARCHITECTURE.   SPACE will be treated as EMPTY so that MALE ASSERTING CONTENT will be captured in LANGUAGE BASED REPRESENTATIONS of ‘REALITY’ in terms of “ALL” MALE ASSERTING CONTENT and NO FEMALE ACCOMMODATING CONTEXT, as in the THIN SKULL RULE.

DAMAGE CONTROL!

Friends, it is not TOO LATE to take a position on DAMAGE CONTROL, and there is plenty of work to do here because the DAMAGE CONTINUES TO MOUNT in the form of our TOO-SIMPLE LANGUAGE (our One-sided MALE-ASSERTING ONLY LANGUAGE which is all MALE CONTENT and NO FEMALE CONTEXT) in the form of FRAGMENTATION.  FRAGMENTATION is what happens to the language-based conceptual constructions by DROPPING OUT THE FEMALE ACCOMMODATING CONTEXT and going SOLELY and ONE-SIDEDLY with MALE ASSERTING ‘READ MY LIPS’ CONTENT.

DAMAGE CONTROL is going to have to start with REPAIRS TO THE JUSTICE SYSTEM since, right now, the WESTERN CULTURE JUSTICE SYSTEM is BINARY LOGIC based.  If it were QUANTUM LOGIC based (BALANCE based) we could be treating CONTENT and CONTEXT together so that if another Jean Valjean case came along, we could understand the MALE CONTENT of the person’s action RELATIVE TO the FEMALE CONTEXT.

PROBLEM!!!  Many of WESTERN CULTURE SOCIETY’S MOST RESPECTED AND INFLUENTIAL MEMBERS have been recognized and rewarded on the basis of the CONTENT of their actions such as, for example, building housing projects and becoming LANDLORDS.  If the LANDLORD used the next thing to SLAVE-LABOUR  to construct the houses and took advantage of a housing shortage to charge extortionate rents, this may never diminish the respect, recognition and social POWER of the DEVELOPER/LANDLORD for HIS ACHIEVEMENT (note this piece of deceptive language work in the labelling “HIS ACHIEVEMENT”) for which the poor workers caught between a rock and a hard place were open to their services being retained by EXTORTION due to socio-economic CONTEXT).

Overall, as in the case of the THIN SKULL RULE, the abstract one-sided concept of THE AUTHOR (the MALE ASSERTING AGENT) becomes the SOLE INPUT required by the LANGUAGE ARCHITECTURE.  We can specify the OWNER-BUILDER of the housing projects solely in terms of the MALE ASSERTING AUTHORING CONTENT without mentioning the CONTEXT of a starving community forced to take on jobs for which the pay was pittance, all of this being FEMALE CONTEXT which in WESTERN CULTURE LANGUAGE ARCHITECTURE is typically BLANKED OUT and the REALITY (so-to-speak) constructed in the one-sided terms of MALE ASSERTING CONTENT, the PUNCH that appears ever so powerful (Don’t mention the female accommodating context of the female accommodating eggshell skull or the female accommodating starving workforce)

IN OTHER WORDS, WESTERN CULTURE LANGUAGE ARCHITECTURE is SIMPLIFIED by the DROPPING OUT OF FEMALE CONTEXT so that all that is offered for INTELLECTUAL CONSUMPTION is the MALE ASSERTING CONTENT.  LANGUAGE CAN DO SUCH HIGHLIGHTING OF CONTENT while DROPPING OUT CONTEXT AS IT IS NOT BEHOLDEN TO SENSE-EXPERIENCE REALITY.

How does this LANGUAGE GAME work where we mention the name of ONE MAN as the BUILDER of the HOUSING PROJECT? How does this fit in with the overall transforming relational continuum wherein there is the gathering and scattering of a diversity of participants, which is a very NONLOCAL and IMPLICIT dynamic, the dynamic of the TRANSFORMING RELATIONAL CONTINUUM?  Here is where RELATIONAL CONTEXT is most surely in primacy over the LOCAL CONTENT, as far as our real-life sense-experience would have it, … but our ENGLISH LANGUAGE ARCHITECTURE is DEFINITELY NOT A FAN of the WAVE-FIELD UNDERSTANDING OF REALITY.  OUR WESTERN CULTURE LANGUAGE SYSTEM HAS THIS BUILT IN SIMPLIFYING DROP OUT OF THE FEMALE ACCOMMODATING CONJUGATE.

This is what Charles Dickens is pointing out in ‘Hard Times’ in the sequence where ‘Sissy Jupe’s romantic CONTEXTUAL understanding of a horse is ‘put down’ by her teacher Thomas Gradgrind who insists on grounding all understanding in ‘being’-based ‘factual CONTENT’ as is the way of mainstream ‘science’ (prior to Modern physics);

“Now, what I want is, Facts. Teach these boys and girls nothing but Facts. Facts alone are wanted in life. Plant nothing else, and root out everything else. You can only form the minds of reasoning animals upon Facts: nothing else will ever be of any service to them. This is the principle on which I bring up my own children, and this is the principle on which I bring up these children. Stick to Facts, sir!”

SO, back to …  How does this LANGUAGE GAME work that we mention the name of ONE MAN as the BUILDER of the HOUSING PROJECT?  

Nietzsche had some thoughts on this general deception built into LANGUAGE ARCHITECTURE.

“Our judgement has us conclude that every change must have an author”; -but this conclusion is already mythology: it separates that which effects from the effecting.  If I say “lightning flashes,” I have posited the flash once as an activity and a second time as a subject, and thus added to the event a being that is not one with the event but is rather fixed, “is” and does not “become.” – To regard an event as an “effecting,” and this as being, that is the double error, or interpretation, of which we are guilty.” — Nietzsche, ‘Will to Power’, 531

Any statement of AUTHORING is a DOUBLE ERROR of NAMING and GRAMMAR, as is the case where one man says “I built this housing complex”, but this “DOUBLE ERROR” construct that brings forth the bogus notion of the LOCAL AUTHOR is VERY COMMON in ENGLISH LANGUAGE USAGE.

TIME FOR A SUMMARY.

We know that we live in a WAVE-FIELD; i.e. that material forms are CONDENSATIONS in the ENERGY-CHARGED PLENUM that is the all including WAVE-FIELD, and we know that this requires a language capable of QUANTUM BOTH/AND LOGIC, that can handle material forms being “BOTH” LOCAL AND EXPLICIT “AND” NONLOCAL and IMPLICIT as with WHORLING IN THE FLOWING, which is LESS SIMPLE that BINARY LOGIC where there are only the TWO SEPARATE STATES of MATERIAL BEING and EMPTY SPACE NON-BEING.

GUESS WHAT!  WE WESTERN CULTURE ADHERENTS “CONTINUE TO BE STUCK” WITH a BINARY LOGIC LANGUAGE ARCHITECTURE which is TOO SIMPLE to deal with such things as WAVE-FIELD, the basic stuff of our sense-experience reality of inclusion therein.  With this TOO SIMPLE LANGUAGE ARCHITECTURE, we are MISSING, in our language based conceptualization capability, the implicit relation between CONTEXT and CONTENT so that when we talk about TOWNS, we are talking as if there is a collection of separate disconnected things, whereas in the case of INDIGENOUS ABORIGINALS WHO OPTED FOR LESS SIMPLE QUANTUM LOGIC AS THE FOUNDATION OF THEIR LANGUAGE, they go for TOWNING in the TRANSFORMING LANDSCAPE where the TOWNS are connected together by CONTEXT of sharing inclusion in the TRANSFORMING LANDSCAPE.

So, the indigenous aboriginal languages give a FOUNDATIONAL ROLE TO CONTEXT in that the TRANSFORMING LANDSCAPE is the source of TOWNING as describes the QUANTUM LOGIC BOTH/AND relation, and now we have it that the CONTENT of TOWNING is INCLUDED in the CONTEXT of the TRANSFORMING LANDSCAPE.  Here we can see the WAVE-FIELD and the CONDENSATIONS of the WAVE-FIELD; i.e. the QUANTUM LOGIC STRUCTURE.

In this case, “WE ARE IN QUANTUM LOGIC REALITY AND WE NO LONGER HAVE NEED OF THE BINARY LOGIC BASED CONCEPTS of “GROWTH”, “DEVELOPMENT” and “PRODUCTION” which are all one-sided MALE ASSERTING AGENCIES which are only possible in a BINARY LOGIC based PSEUDO-REALITY and no longer exist in our QUANTUM LOGIC REALITY wherein every MATERIAL FORM is AT THE SAME TIME, the ENERGY-CHARGED PLENUM (WAVE-FIELD) IT IS INCLUDED IN.

The Indigenous aboriginal language architecture takes care of this and deploys the equivalent of ‘There is TOWNING in the TRANSFORMING LANDSCAPE” which is built with the QUANTUM LOGIC relation wherein ‘the TOWNING’ is the MALE ASSERTING CONJUGATE and the “TRANSFORMING LANDSCAPE” (relational continuum) is the FEMALE ACCOMMODATING CONJUGATE.

This pair of MALE and FEMALE CONJGUATES corresponds in WAVE-FIELD mathematics to the “REAL” and  the “IMAGINARY” components of the “COMPLEX SIGNAL”.  So the INDIGENOUS ABORIGINAL LANGUAGE is WAVE-FIELD CAPABLE in its LINGUISTIC CONCEPTUALIZING scheme.

BY COMPARISON, WESTERN CULTURE LANGUAGE DROPS OUT THE ‘FEMALE’ or ‘IMAGINARY’ COMPONENT OF THE COMPLEX WAVE-FIELD SIGNAL, REDUCING IT TO THE ‘MALE’ or ‘REAL’ COMPONENT ONLY, WHICH MEANS that the SIMPLICITY that was sought for by Copernicus (by reducing space to non-participating emptiness) was gained at the price of REDUCING the WAVE-FIELD capability of LANGUAGE aka the QUANTUM LOGIC capability of LANGUAGE, to the one-sided … ‘REAL’ COMPONENT, in COMPLEX SIGNAL terms, or ‘MALE ASSERTING CONJUGATE’, in ANDROGNYOUS ‘FEMALE-ACCOMMODATING’ – ‘MALE ASSERTING’ CONJUGATE TERMS.

SO, we WESTERN CULTURE ADHERENTS are using a DUMBED-DOWN LANGUAGE ARCHITECTURE that is INNATELY TOO SIMPLE and thus NOT WAVE-FIELD CONCEPTUALATION CAPABLE while the indigenous aboriginals employ a NOT-DUMBED-DOWN, but instead LESS SIMPLE LANGUAGE ARCHITECTURE which “IS” WAVE-FIELD CONCEPTUALIZATION CAPABLE

While the indigenous aboriginal language architecture is BALANCE based (QUANTUM LOGIC is essentially about BALANCE between WAVE-FIELD GROUND and CONDENSATION-FIGURE).  Thus in the indigenous aboriginal language where one speaks in such terms as ‘there is TOWNING IN THE TRANSFORMING LANDSCAPE’, the QUANTUM LOGIC relation between the DYNAMIC CONTENT and the CONTAINING DYNAMIC are understood as a RESONANCE based relation.

This can be seen in the case of the ants that are gathering and scattering not strictly because ‘they decided to do this’ but because of the drops of honey coming from the bees nest overhead.  The ants gather and scatter in picking up honey and taking it back to their families and this honey induced gathering-scattering resonance manifests as ‘clustering’ where one is tempted to simplify, in using language to describe it, in terms of a CLUSTER that is GROWING and SHRINKING SEQUENTIALLY and no longer in a simultaneous resonance based CLUSTERING.  The failure to tune in to the significance of subtle relational difference as exemplified here in this DROP-DOWN from the SIMULTANEOUS RESONANCE of CLUSTERING to the SEQUENTIAL GROWING AND SHRINKING of the CLUSTER, is seen as a MISTAKE made by ARISTOTLE wherein he accidentally simplified the findings of Heraclitus, who had tuned in to this important difference (the difference between QUANTUM LOGIC and BINARY LOGIC);

“Plato clearly distinguished between Heraclitus’ SIMULTANEOUS unity and plurality of the cosmos and Empedocles’ SEPARATE PERIODS of Love and Strife. At the same time, they are mentioned together as both alike in believing in the unity and plurality of the cosmos; and Aristotle’s coupling of the two might conceivably have been motivated by the Platonic comparison, the important distinction between them being overlooked.” – Kirk, Raven et al, The Presocratic Philosophers

Once we speak in the SEQUENTIAL terms of ‘THE CLUSTER IS GROWING AND SHRINKING’ we put ourselves in a BINARY LOGIC world whereas … ‘there is CLUSTERING in the TRANSFORMING LANDSCAPE is a QUANTUM LOGIC relation that gives us back the ANDROGYNOUS WAVE-FIELD combination of MALE ASSERTING (CLUSTERING) and FEMALE ACCOMMODATING (IN THE TRANSFORMING LANDSCAPE). 

One can see in this that the MALE and FEMALE conjugates correspond to the REAL and IMAGINARY components of the COMPLEX SIGNAL, thus the reduction from the LESS SIMPLE SIMULTANEOUS to the SIMPLE SEQUENTIAL CAPTURES the TRANSITION from QUANTUM LOGIC to BINARY LOGIC. 

That is, the SIMULTANOUS UNITY and PLURALITY is a DEFINITION of QUANTUM BOTH/AND LOGIC, the clustering of the ants looks like one thing (the cluster) but it is simultaneously the plurality of ants.  Of course when we start using the NOUN ‘CLUSTER’, this SIMPLIFICATION is like the Cuckoo’s egg being dropped into another less simple bird’s nest where it will hatch and ‘TAKE OVER’.  This is what we do in our WESTERN CULTURE LANGUAGE with BINARY LOGIC, substituting it in complex linguistic articulations which requires QUANTUM LOGIC, DUMBING DOWN the language based representation of reality, … with the simple cuckoo’s egg of BINARY LOGIC.

In WAVE-FIELD terms, we reduce the full COMPLEX REAL plus IMAGINARY SIGNAL to the REAL on its own by DROPPING OUT the IMAGINARY component aka the FEMALE ACCOMMODATING CONJUGATE.  This is like BLURRING OUR EYES in watching the clustering of ants so that we focus on what looks like A STATIONARY CLUSTER that is successively GROWING and SHRINKING which amounts to these two changes (A) reductively simplifying the resonance by focusing on the LOCAL ‘envelope’ aka the ‘cluster’ instead of the NONLOCAL dynamic ‘clustering’, and (B) substituting EMPTY SPACE for the female conjugate dispersed sourcing of the clustering since we have used LANGUAGE to invent the LOCAL BEING based AUTHOR, the CLUSTER, in place of a resonance feature with MALE ASSERTING and FEMALE ACCOMMODATING CONJUGATES.  We can do this with LANGUAGE; i.e. create a LOCAL MALE ASSERTING AUTHOR so that we simplify our LANGUAGE REQUIRMENT, in effect substituting EMPTY SPACE for the FEMALE ACCOMMODATING CONJUGATE.

This is like the THIN SKULL RULE once again, having our language reduce the QUANTUM BOTH/AND LOGIC of the INCLUDING MEDIUM where the MALE ASSERTING is APPEARANCE like the CLUSTER-AS-AUTHOR is appearance, where what “the MALE ASSERTING THING DOES” (in our DOUBLE ERROR of NAMING and GRAMMAR LANGUAGE implies is LOCAL AUTHORING) MAKES IT APPEAR AS IF IT (THE CLUSTER) WERE the AUTHORING AGENT and SOLE REALITY, DROPPING OUT THE FEMALE ACCOMMODATING PRIMARY INFLUENCE.

To be sure, it is easy to see the MALE ASSERTING AGENT as being the SOURCE of an action because, as in the case of forest fire, the person who discards the unextinguished cigarette butt FITS OUR PICTURE of chopping down reality to the MALE ASSERTING CONJUGATE as if acting in an ABSOLUTE EMPTY and INFINITED SPACE.  The FEMALE ACCOMMODATING of the TINDER-DRY FOREST desiccated by a long hot summer belongs to CONTEXT which is NONLOCAL and IMPLICIT while ew have reduced our WESTERN CULTURE LANGUAGE based CONCEPTUALIZATIONS of reality to the MALE-ASSERTING aka the LOCAL and EXPLICIT.   While our sense experience informs us that it would take more than a blow torch to ignite this RAIN FOREST in the rainy season, a spark will do it in its mid-summer tinder dry condition, so any reasonably intelligent person is going to understand that it is NOT the LOCAL, EXPLICIT CONTENT that prevails but the NONLOCAL, IMPLICIT CONTEXT and the fact that we WESTERN CULTURE ADHERENTS have DROPPED THAT UNDERSTANDING OUT OF OUR LANGUAGE BASED INTELLECTUAL CONCEPTUALIZING doesn’t hold sway over the realities of NATURE.

OK, the title of this note is A REVIEW of the ROLE of LANGUAGE in understanding “WHAT IS REALITY?”

and it seems to me that what is going on with language is that language is struggling to overcome its WESTERN CULTURE history of having employed a SIMPLIFIED ARCHITECTURE which DROPS OUT THE FEMALE WAVE-FIELD CONJUGATE and has proceeded with LANGUAGE BASED CONCEPTUALIZATIONS with one-sided MALE ASSERTING STRUCTURE.
