Bipolar Disorder manifests as the conservative – liberal split.

The conservatives emphasize Law and Order while the liberals emphasize social justice. This spells BIPOLAR DISORDER.

As Nietzsche pointed out, our WESTERN CULTURE falls into the psychological aberrance hole of the DOUBLE ERROR of NAMING and GRAMMAR.  This reduces the natural dynamics of FIGURE-and-GROUND-as-ONE (where the hurricane and the atmospheric flow are ONE) by NAMING the hurricane and imputing to it LOCAL THING-IN-ITSELF BEING, …then conflating this FIRST ERROR which GRAMMAR to impute to the NAMING-imputed THING-in-ITSELF, it’s own notional powers of SOURCING actions and developments.   This DOUBLE ERROR lets us say things like ‘the hurricane is growing larger and stronger and is devastating New Orleans’.

The physical reality is that the world is a transforming relation continuum in which there is no such thing as LOCAL dynamics.  Reality is inherently NONLOCAL and implicit because ‘everything is relative to everything’ as is the nature of  relational forms in the Wave-field.  The Earth is included in the transforming relational continuum so that relational TRANSFORMATION is the ‘FIRST ORDER REALITY’.

The trouble with reality being the transforming relational continuum (the Wave-field) is that it is INEFFABLE-because-NONLOCAL-and-IMPLICIT (because everything is in flux).  That’s not really “TROUBLE” as far as our sensory experience goes, it is just ‘trouble’ insofar as capturing reality in language and grammar so as to share some kind of representation of ‘reality’.  This EFFABLE-izing, even if it only the EFFABLE-izing of a crude reduction of our INEFFABLE experience of inclusion in the Wave-field is immensely useful since it allows us to share (crude) language based simulations of our sensory experience.

So we did engineer language and grammar that gives us a crude simulation of our sensory, and while modern physics, indigenous aboriginal cultures, Taoism/Buddhism and Advaita Vedanta are all using language and grammar as a means of building representations that facilitate an INTUITIVE LEAP to the INEFFABLE-because-NONLOCAL-and-IMPLICIT relational Wavefield reality aka ‘the Tao’.

We WESTERN CULTURE ADHERENTS, meanwhile, are in the habit of using language LITERALLY, so that when we say; ‘hurricane Katrina is growing larger and stronger and is devastating New Orleans’, WE REALLY MEAN IT, … whereas what is really going on is relational TRANSFORMATION that we and everyone, including the people of New Orleans, are included in.   Katrina, the FIGURE and the atmosphere and landscape aka ‘the GROUND’ are ONE.

The actual FIGURE-and-GROUND-as-ONE reality; i.e. the reality of TRANSFORMATION, is INEFFABLE-because-NONLOCAL-and-IMPLICIT (everything is in flux), meaning that we can’t put it into words because it is NOT ‘OUT THERE’ and available for us to photograph or draw a picture of.  It is NOT PICTURABLE.  It is the all-including Wave-field.  So, this INEFFABLE reality is the reality of our sensory experience of inclusion in the transforming relational continuum aka the Wave-field.

BIPOLAR DISORDER comes form the ‘reductive KLUGE’ we employ in order to ‘get something EFFABLE’ this ‘reductive KLUGE’ reduces the INEFFABLE-because-NONLOCAL-and-IMPLICIT to the EFFABLE-because-LOCAL-and-EXPLICIT by way of “THE DOUBLE ERROR”, as Nietzsche labelled it.  Within the transforming relational continuum we see a ‘swirl’ in ‘a flow’.  The REALITY is that FIGURE (swirl) and GROUND (flow) ARE ONE, but language and grammar allow us to RE-present FIGURE-and-GROUND-as-TWO, so that we can speak of the FIGURE as if it were INDEPENDENT of the GROUND.

NOTA BENE!  Before doing this, the whole Wave-field universe was ONE transforming relational continuum so we couldn’t say anything about it because we would never finish our account of what was going on as it is in continual flux.   But if we FREEZE the IDENTITY of a swirling in the flow by NAMING it, even though this is not real because the swirling is not a physically fixed and persisting thing-in-itself, it is a relational form in the flow which is in continual flux.

NEVER MIND, … ANY PORT IN A STORM, … we need to be able to talk about our experience of inclusion in the transforming relational continuum and so we use NAMING to identify a fairly persistent swirling and make it out to be something LOCAL when it is, in fact, inherently NONLOCAL as it is a fluid feature in the all-including Wave-field.   Not only do we NAME it so as to make it out to be something LOCAL, we conflate this NAMING-so-as-to-LOCALIZE it with GRAMMAR that imputes to it its own power of SOURCING actions and developments.  As you can understand, this DOUBLE ERROR now equips our language game with the opportunity to reduce the INEFFABLE-because-NONLOCAL-and-IMPLICIT (fluid reality) wherein FIGURE-and-GROUND-are-ONE, …  to a language-and-grammar based EFFABLE-because-LOCAL-and-EXPLICIT pseudo-reality wherein FIGURE-and-GROUND-are TWO.

HERE’s WHERE THE BIPOLAR DISORDER COMES IN, but only in our WESTERN CULTURE because of the way we use this reduction; i.e. as if it were the ‘operative reality’.

When we do this DOUBLE ERROR REDUCTION we introduce a basic AMBIGUITY because what we are doing is CUTTING IN to the NONLOCAL Wave-field continuum so as to INJECT A LOCAL REALITY.  Recall that the transforming relational continuum manifests SWIRLING figures in the flow wherein FIGURE (swirl) and GROUND (flow) are ONE.  But once we NAME the SWIRL (first ERROR) and conflate this invention of a LOCAL thing-in-itself with GRAMMAR (second ERROR), we notionally LIBERATE the FIGURE from the GROUND so as to understand FIGURE-and-GROUND-as-TWO, in which case we are no longer stuck with the INEFFABLE-because-NONLOCAL-and-IMPLICIT as in the case of relational forms in the one Wave-field.

While all we need to ‘get EFFABLE-because-LOCAL-and-EXPLICIT’ is the LOCAL FIGURE thing-in-itself along with some GRAMMAR-given local power for SOURCING its own actions and development; e.g.  the DOUBLE ERROR gives us, for example, ‘the continent is drifting’.   This doesn’t change the fact that REALITY remains ‘the INEFFABLE-because-NONLOCAL-and-IMPLICIT transforming relational continuum’.

BUT WAIT A MINUTE!

Because we injected this LOCALness into the transforming relational continuum as in this example of imposing the NAMING of ‘continent’ on a feature in the transforming relational continuum and conflating this with grammar to impute the power of SOURCING drift to the continent (this DOUBLE ERROR enabling us to do a psychological ‘end-run’ around the problem of INEFFABLE-ness of the transforming relational continuum), …. we get something extra that we didn’t really need, … a kind of BIPOLAR GHOST in that in saying that continents drift apart, which is the logical, superficial view of things (which doesn’t acknowledge overall transformation as in the Wave-field), it could also be the case that ‘the seafloor is spreading’.

This ambiguity is always there when we decide to impute LOCAL SOURCING of action and development.  That is what the DOUBLE ERROR is all about.  Nietzsche used the example of nonlocal transformation involving electrical flashing (lightning).  We reduce the INEFFABLE-because-NONLOCAL-and-IMPLICIT to the EFFABLE-because-LOCAL and-EXPLICIT.   When the wind blows, electrical charging gathers and scatters as the Heraclitean description of relational TRANSFORMATION which is decidedly NONLOCAL (i.e. INEFFABLE-because-NONLOCAL-and-IMPLICIT), but the DOUBLE ERROR lets us reduce the INEFFABLE-because-NONLOCAL-and-IMPLICIT to the EFFABLE-because-LOCAL-and-EXPLICIT.  Hey, ‘Did you see that lightning strike the barn’?   That reduction to LOCAL pseudo-phenomena by way of NAMING and GRAMMAR is a lot easier and quicker than acknowledging the REAL INEFFABLE-because-NONLOCAL-and-IMPLICIT phenomena, that we would otherwise have to, as Wittgenstein says; ‘pass over in silence’.

BUT THEN THERE’s the AMBIGUITY which can be confusing.  Is it really ‘continents drifting’ or is it ‘seafloor spreading’?  Is it really the flapping flag that sources the stirring of the air, or is it the stirring of the air that sources the flapping of the flag?  (the Zen koan of wind and flag).

This ambiguity is NOT REAL but is fall-out from the DOUBLE ERROR based construction of LOCAL SOURCING.  There is NO SUCH THING AS LOCAL SOURCING.  There is only relational TRANSFORMATION.  The concept of LOCAL SOURCING derives from the DOUBLE ERROR of NAMING and GRAMMAR.

This ambiguity is where BIPOLAR DISORDER is coming from as in the WESTERN CULTURE political polarizing of conservative and liberal.  This BIPOLAR pair of opposing political views are the consequence of assuming LOCAL SOURCING (the DOUBLE ERROR); i.e. ‘does the individual source the dynamics of the social collective or do the dynamics of the social collective source the dynamics of the individual’.

LOGICAL cases can be made for BOTH, provided that one first believes in the reality of LOCAL SOURCING and in WESTERN CULTURE that belief is secured by EGO.

So, to summarize; REALITY is INEFFABLE-because-NONLOCAL-and-IMPLICIT, so we use a reductive technique so that we can use language that is EFFABLE even though it can’t capture fullblown reality but something that is EFFABLE-because-LOCAL-and-EXPLICIT, and the technique for getting an EFFABLE reduction of the INEFFABLE is the DOUBLE ERROR technique where we portray FIGURE-and-GROUND-as-TWO, … so that instead of FIGURE-and-GROUND-as-ONE (as with the swirling flow), we speak in terms of the FIGURE-and-GROUND-as-TWO as if the swirl and the flow are two separate things, … and then we get hit with the ambiguity as to whether the swirl sources the stirring up of the flow, or whether the flow sources the stirring up of the swirl.

WESTERN CULTURE ITSELF IS PERMEATED WITH THIS BIPOLAR AMBIGUITY that leads to BIOPOLAR DISORDER.  The conservative – liberal political bipolarity derives from our need to EFFABLE-ize the INEFFABLE, something that modern physics and the cultures of the EAST didn’t to.  Don’t forget, we can use this DOUBLE ERROR based EFFABLE-izing to kind of BOOTSTRAP an intuitive leap to the INEFFABLE without having to treat the DOUBLE ERROR per se, as REALITY.  While the WEST treats the DOUBLE ERROR as the operative reality, the EAST treats it as a prompt for an intuitive leap to the INEFFABLE (Wave-field reality) which is NONLOCAL-and-IMPLICIT.  Again, to say ‘lightning flashes’ is a DOUBLE ERROR where we use NAMING and GRAMMAR to impute LOCAL SOURCING of actions and developments.

As Wittgenstein points out, we can only use reason as inference to cultivate an intuitive leap to the real reality that is INEFFABLE-because-NONLOCAL-and-IMPLICIT.

The WESTERN CULTURE conservative – liberal (TRUMP – BIDEN) BIPOLAR DISORDER exemplifies the NONSENSICAL nature of the AMBIGUITY that arises with the use of the DOUBLE ERROR that the EGO needs to generate the notion of LOCAL SOURCING of actions and developments.

In reality, we live within the TRANSFORMING RELATIONAL CONTINUUM, but we WESTERN CULTURE ADHERENTS don’t like the fact that such a reality is INEFFABLE-because-NONLOCAL-and-IMPLICIT and FIGURE-and-GROUND-is-ONE, … so we make the DOUBLE ERROR reduction that delivers the EFFABLE-because-LOCAL-and-EXPLICIT FIGURE-and-GROUND-as-TWO and thus ‘take the ambiguity hit’.

The ambiguity is NOT REAL, but stems from first making the DOUBLE ERROR which imputes the power of LOCAL SOURCING of actions and developments to NAMING-instantiated things-in-themselves.  As physicist Erich Jantsch (Designe for Evolution) shows, there are two lower level ‘realities’ that stem from the double error, his lowest level 3 (corresponds to the conservative view while the next lowest level 2 corresponds to the liberal view and the highest level 1 corresponds to the Wave (relational) view.

Level 3 (conservative) the organizing dynamic is one-to-many (one bad apple sources spoilage of the barrel, one heroic leader sources victory).

Level 2 (liberal) the organizing dynamic is many-to-one (it takes a whole community to source the raising of a [good or bad] child)

Level 1 (‘design for evolution’) mitakuye oyasin (everything is related as in the transformation of dissonance into harmony)

Alternatively, the level 3 understanding of reality can be seen as a person standing on solid ground, level 2 as people swimming in the water, and level 1 as the figure in the water being a swirling in the water as in Wave-field phenomena.

Note that in the presence of dissonance in the social collective, the conservative (one bad apple sources spoilage of the barrel) seeks to eliminate the dissident while the liberal (it takes a whole community to source the raising of a child) seeks to remediate the social collective’s sourcing of dissonance (e.g. as in the ‘Black Lives Matter’ initiative.  The assumption is that blacks are not receiving a fair deal within the social dynamic in which case blacks’ resistance to being ‘stonewalled while being discriminated against signals a natural response that resists the enforced imbalance, in effect seeking the restoring the balance and fairness in the relational dynamic of society.

WHAT’S WRONG WITH THIS ANALYSIS?

What’s wrong with the analysis is that it is based on the concept of LOCAL SOURCING of actions and developments, the DOUBLE ERROR pointed out by Nietzsche. The problem is not that WHITES are given greater rewards and recognition for their sourcing of positive actions and developments than are BLACKS, nor that BLACKS are given greater scrutiny and punishment for their sourcing of negative actions and developments, … there is a deeper problem and it is the assumption of LOCAL SOURCING of actions and developments which is tied up with EGO.

THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS “LOCAL SOURCING OF ACTIONS AND DEVELOPMENTS”, the very notion derives from the DOUBLE ERROR of NAMING and GRAMMAR.  The problem is therefore that the natural dynamic of relational TRANSFORMATION is obscured by the imposing of the artificial concept of LOCAL SOURCING which serves to INFLATE THE EGO and SOCIAL STATUS of those who manage to secure the greatest ‘credits’ for ‘their sourcing’ of positive actions and developments.  This is a WESTERN CULTURE BIPOLAR DISORDER that derives from the artificial (psychological) invoking of DOUBLE ERROR based LOCAL SOURCING.

We may ask ourselves whether the movement of the air is sourcing the flapping of the flag or whether the flapping of the flag is sourcing the movement of the air, … but this issue remains AMBIGUOUS because THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS LOCAL SOURCING, … it is the artifact of the DOUBLE ERROR of NAMING and GRAMMAR.  Do continents source their own drift or does the seafloor source its own spreading?  The answer is NEITHER since the real dynamic is relational TRANSFORMATION.

This BIPOLAR AMBIGUITY comes into play in the psyche, as a result of the DOUBLE ERROR of NAMING and GRAMMAR where we reduce relational TRANSFORMATION to binary terms of LOCAL NAMING-instantiated things-in-themselves with GRAMMAR-given powers of sourcing actions and developments.

WHY DO WE FABRICATE THIS DOUBLE ERROR?   — BECAUSE TRANSFORMATION, WHILE IT IS THE BASIC NATURE OF THE ALL-INCLUDING WAVE-FIELD, IS INEFFABLE-because-NONLOCAL-and-IMPLICIT, … and we thus use the DOUBLE ERROR of NAMING and GRAMMAR to reduce it to something EFFABLE-because-LOCAL-and-EXPLICIT,

We can VISUALLY (psychologically) PICTURE continents drifting, but in so doing, we SYNTHETICALLY SPLIT FIGURE-and-GROUND-as-ONE (as in TRANSFORMATION), … into FIGURE-and-GROUND-as-TWO.  Because NAMING makes such a powerful impression on the psyche in terms of imputing PERSISTING BEING, we let our psyche’s be ‘carried away’ by the ERRONEOUS IMPRESSION that that which is INNATELY NONLOCAL like the swirling of a swirling as in a ‘hurricaning’, IS INSTEAD SOMETHING LOCAL with its own persisting LOCALLY-based ONTOLOGIC BEING when it is, in ACTUALITY, intrinsically NONLOCAL.  And to intellectually ‘chase down’ this NONLOCALITY, we would be kept busy tracking this down forever, as in Bohm’s inquiry into the sourcing of the death of Lincoln (back through the invention of gunpowder etc. etc.).

While NONLOCALITY is the primary REALITY associated with the all-including, transforming relational continuum aka the Wave-field aka the Tao, it is INEFFABLE-because-NONLOCAL-and-IMPLICIT.

For the purpose of rendering the NONLOCAL and infinite, … finite and LOCAL, we employ the DOUBLE ERROR of NAMING and GRAMMAR, hence, ‘the hurricaning in the atmosphere’ that is the manifesting of  FIGURE-and-GROUND-as-ONE TRANSFORMATION that is inherently NONLOCAL, thanks to the DOUBLE ERROR treatment, is reduced to FIGURE-and-GROUND-as-TWO.  This BIPOLAR SPLITTING is something that occurs IN OUR PSYCHE, it does not occur in the physical reality of our sensory experience; i.e. the hurricane in the atmosphere remains in our sensory experience as FIGURE-and-GROUND-as-ONE, and the abstract splitting into FIGURE-and-GROUND-as-TWO is a SPLITTING within the PSYCHE, triggered by the DOUBLE ERROR of NAMING and GRAMMAR.

But we need to remember that we can’t get outside the world and become voyeurs of what we are included in;

“The world is given to me only once, not one existing and one perceived. Subject and object are only one. The barrier between them cannot be said to have broken down as a result of recent experience in the physical sciences, for this barrier does not exist.” – Erwin Schroedinger

The point is that language’ i.e. the DOUBLE ERROR of NAMING and GRAMMAR is abstraction that simulates the splitting apart of observing subject and observed object, and that is how the INEFFABLE-because-NONLOCAL-and-IMPLICIT Wave-field (the Tao) can be REDUCED so as to be rendered EFFABLE-because-LOCAL-and-EXPLICIT.   So now we NO LONGER HAVE ‘HURRICANING’ as a manifestation of TRANSFORMATION wherein FIGURE-and-GROUND-are-ONE, we have instead ‘THE HURRICANE’ as a LOCAL thing-in-itself that is notionally movement about IN THE atmosphere, as if FIGURE and GROUND are TWO.

WATCH OUT! …. because here is where the AMBIGUITY comes in where one person may see the hurricane as sourcing the stirring up of the atmosphere and another person may see the atmosphere as sourcing the stirring up of the hurricane.

THIS AMBIGUITY is the direct result of our REDUCTION OF TRANSFORMATION (wherein FIGURE-and-GROUND-are-ONE) by means of the imposing of the abstract concept of LOCAL SOURCING of actions and developments using the DOUBLE ERROR of NAMING and GRAMMAR wherein FIGURE-and-GROUND-are-TWO.

Let’s not forget that this reduction of the INEFFABLE-because-NONLOCAL (Wave-field) is for the purpose of reducing-to-render-EFFABLE (in FIGURE-and-GROUND-as-TWO terms) that which when unreduced is INEFFABLE (because TRANSFORMATION, the primary reality of our sensory experience, is where FIGURE-and-GROUND-are-ONE).

So, AMBIGUITY comes ‘bundled in’ with this expedient REDUCTION to render the INEFFABLE-because-NONLOCAL-and-IMPLICIT, EFFABLE-because-LOCAL-and-EXPLICIT, and because different folks prefer different strokes, some folks (conservatives) prefer the ONE-to MANY (‘one bad apple sources spoilage of the whole barrel”) branch of this AMBIGUOUS BIFURCATION while others (liberals) prefer the MANY-to-ONE (“it takes a whole community to raise a child”) branch of this AMBIGUOUS BIFURCATION.  An example is ‘continental drift’ vis a vis ‘seafloor spreading’.  Grammar can make continents the LOCAL SOURCE of their own drifting and/or can make seafloor the LOCAL SOURCE of its own spreading.

It is the abstract concept of LOCAL SOURCING, as in Nietzsche’s example ‘Lightning flashes’  that reduces NONLOCAL TRANSFORMATION to something that APPEARS to be LOCAL, and in this reduction of the NONLOCAL to the LOCAL, we achieve the reduction of the INEFFABLE-because-NONLOCAL and IMPLICIT to the EFFABLE-because-LOCAL-and-EXPLICIT.    Again, the DOUBLE ERROR of NAMING (as in ‘Christening’) and GRAMMAR (imputing powers of LOCAL SOURCING) REDUCES the NONLOCAL-and-INEFFABLE to the LOCAL-and-EFFABLE so that this REDUCTION now gives us something we language can capture and share with language.

While the EAST employs this REDUCTION as a tool of INFERENCE of the INEFFABLE-because-NONLOCAL; i.e. as an expedient to trigger an intuitively leap to INEFFABLE-because-NONLOCAL, …  the WEST employs this REDUCTION as the official ‘operative reality’; i.e. READ MY LIPS: ‘CONTINENTS DO DRIFT and FLAPPING FLAGS DO SOURCE MOVEMENT OF THE AIR’. In this WESTERN case, BIPOLAR OPPOSITION crops up wherein some say NO!, the SEAFLOOR SPREADS and the MOVING AIR SOURCES the FLAPPING of FLAGS!.

The WEST thus has a problem, a BIPOLAR DISORDER, wherein one polarized half of the social collective psyche prefers their LOCAL SOURCING in the straight-forward terms of a locally asserting action (e.g. ‘one bad apple sources rotting of the whole barrel’), while the opposite polarized half of the social collective prefers their LOCAL SOURCING in the less straight forward terms of a locally inductive action (‘it takes a whole community to source the proper raising of a child’).

In the case of ‘BLACK LIVES MATTER’, there is a manifest SPLIT between the conservatives who put into first prority, law-and-order logic that gives the individual primary responsibility and thus seeks to eliminate the ‘bad apples’ as soon as they show themselves ‘one bad apple sources rotting of the whole barrel’) versus the liberals whose orientation to sustaining social relational harmony gives the social collective primary responsibility (‘it takes a whole community to source the proper raising of a child’).

BEFORE YOU START ASSESSING WHICH OF THESE TWO BIPOLAR CHOICES YOU PERSONALLY PREFER, CONSIDER THE FACT THAT BOTH OPTIONS ASSUME “LOCAL SOURCING” OF ACTIONS AND DEVELOPMENTS.  THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS ‘LOCAL SOURCING’ OF ACTIONS AND DEVELOPMENTS.  AS NIETZSCHE POINTS OUT, THAT IS A DOUBLE ERROR OF NAMING AND GRAMMAR where we can opt for ‘the movement of the air is sourcing the flapping of the flag’, or, ‘the flapping of the flag is sourcing the movement of the air’.  In reality, there is only relational TRANSFORMATION which is NONLOCAL and INEFFABLE.

Ok, in order to reduce the INEFFABLE REALITY of the Wave-field (the transforming relational continuum) so ‘something EFFABLE’, we employ the psychological BIPOLAR splitting of FIGURE-and-GROUND-as-ONE into FIGURE-and-GROUND-as-TWO.  Instead of the “hurricaning in the atmosphere”, we make the abstract reduction to ‘the hurricane’ ‘in the atmosphere’ as if these were TWO SEPARATE LOCAL THINGS-in-THEMSELVES, which invokes at the same time the AMBIGUITY as to whether the hurricane is stirring up the atmosphere or the atmosphere is stirring up the hurricane.  WHICH IS IT?

If we are of a ‘conservative bent’, we may prefer the directness and assertiveness of individual LOCAL SOURCING agency wherein we can see ourselves as the hurricane or dynamic that is the local jumpstart author of actions and developments.  This has the ONE-to-MANY LOCAL SOURCING topology.

If you are of a ‘liberal bent’, we may prefer the gregariousness of a cooperating social collective as the LOCAL SOURCING agency that is the local jumpstart author of actions and developments.  This has the MANY-to-ONE LOCAL SOURCING topology.

NOTE THAT BOTH OF THESE BIPOLAR-AMBIGUITY-INFECTED REDUCTIONS OF the NONLOCAL TRANSFORMATION (Wave-field reality aka the Tao) present LOCAL SOURCING as if it were a ‘real’ dynamic WHERE THERE IS NO SUCH THING.   Using binary logic based reasoning, we can ‘manufacture’ such DOUBLE ERROR based pseudo-realities that are supported by the abstract concept of LOCAL SOURCING of actions and developments wherein a NONLOCAL ‘hurricaning’ in the atmosphere (FIGURE-and-GROUND-as-ONE) gives way to the ‘LOCAL hurricane’ in the atmosphere (FIGURE-and-GROUND-as-TWO), reducing the NONLOCAL to the LOCAL and re-launching it as if it were a LOCAL thing-in-itself with its own powers of sourcing actions and developments, ..BUT LEAVING IN THE LURCH THE AMBIGUITY, NOT THAT IT IS ITS OWN THING-IN-ITSELF WITH ITS OWN POWERS OF SOURCING ACTIONS AND DEVELOPMENTS, … WHETHER IT IS STIRRING UP THE ATMOSPHERE OR WHETHER THE ATMOSPHERE IS STIRRING IT UP.

That AMBIGUITY is the ‘PRICE WE PAY’ for reducing the INEFFABLE-because-NONLOCAL-and-IMPLICIT phenomenon of TRANSFORMATION to the EFFABLE-because-LOCAL-and-EXPLICIT abstractions of CONSTRUCTION (BIRTHING) and DEMOLITION(DYING).  Only TRANSFORMATION is REAL but it is INEFFABLE-because-NONLOCAL-and-IMPLICIT.

We are in the habit of using our general FLATSPACE perspective in speaking of the BIRTHING of a new containent (e.g. Surtsea) and the DYING of an old containent (Atlantis) so as to avoid having to deal with the INEFFABLE-because-NONLOCAL TRANSFORMATION wherein FIGURE-and-GROUND-are-ONE.  In our substituting of FIGURE-and-GROUND-as-TWO we equip ourselves with BINARY LOGIC based conceptualizing of NAMING AND GRAMMAR, but in so doing, we open the door to AMBIGUITY in our understanding as to whether the FIGURE is sourcing changes in the GROUND or whether the GROUND is sourcing changes in the FIGURE.    This BIPOLAR AMBIGUITY is THE PRICE WE PAY for abstractly breaking into NONLOCAL TRANSFORMATION (wherein FIGURE-and-GROUND-are-ONE) to extract an EFFABLE-because-LOCAL REDUCTION (wherein FIGURE-and-GROUND-are-TWO).

Do continents drift, or does the seafloor spread?  It is worth returning, here, to Jantsch’s three levels of reality, the third and lowest being symbolized by the man standing on the mainland whose actions are fully and solely in his own right with nothing to complicate this simple view of reality.  The second and next lowest level being symbolized by the people in the water whose actions stir things up so as to influence others (e.g. one must be careful not to make too many waves since there are the weak and infirm as well as small children in the water).  The first and highest of the three levels of reality is where the things in the water are swirlings in the one flow which brings with it the understanding of ‘mitakuye oyasin’, everything is related and there is no longer any FIGURE-and-GROUND-as-TWO split.  The swirling in the water is a case of FIGURE-and-GROUND-as-ONE.

The discussion in this essay has tried to share the following;

-1- Reality is INEFFABLE-because-NONLOCAL-and-IMPLICIT; i.e. it is the all-including, transforming relational continuum aka the Wave-field aka ‘the Tao’.

-2- Language reduces the INEFFABLE-because-NONLOCAL-and-IMPLICIT to the EFFABLE-because-LOCAL-and-EXPLICIT, to open the way to language-based sharing of experience.

-3- The REDUCTION of the INEFFABLE-because-NONLOCAL-and-IMPLICIT to the EFFABLE-because-LOCAL-and-EXPLICIT comes at the price of introducing AMBIGUITY associated with the reduction of FIGURE-and-GROUND-as-ONE to FIGURE-and-GROUND-as-TWO; e.g. the whorl in the flow as ONE is INEFFABLE-because-NONLOCAL-and-IMPLICIT whereas the whorl in the flow as TWO is EFFABLE-because-LOCAL-and-EXPLICIT.  We achieve this reduction by the DOUBLE ERROR of NAMING and GRAMMAR; i.e. ‘Hurricane Katrina is growing larger and stronger and is devastating New Orleans’. 

NOTE THAT the DOUBLE ERROR based re-casting of the FIGURE-and-GROUND-as-ONE topology as a FIGURE-and-GROUND-as-TWO topology … SYNTHETICALLY LIBERATES the FIGURE from the GROUND while our injecting of GRAMMAR serves to impute LOCAL POWER OF SOURCING ACTIONS AND DEVELOPMENTS to the SYNTHETICALLY LIBERATED (by NAMING) FIGURE.

AMBIGUITY has been introduced by this ‘breaking in’ to the TRANSFORMING relational continuum so as to inject notional LOCAL SOURCING AGENCY as is the abstraction needed to REDUCE the INEFFABLE-because-NONLOCAL-and-IMPLICIT to the EFFABLE-because-LOCAL-and-EXPLICIT. Does the hurricane source the stirring up of the atmosphere or does the atmosphere source the stirring up of the hurricane? ANSWER: NEITHER!  THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS ‘LOCAL SOURCING’, THERE IS ONLY RELATIONAL TRANSFORMATION.    ‘Hurricaning’ is a relational developing within the transforming relational continuum.  There is no LOCAL THING-IN-ITSELF in the transforming relational continuum.  The ‘hurricaning’ is reduced to the abstract concept of a LOCAL thing-in-itself termed ‘hurricane’ by the DOUBLE ERROR of NAMING and GRAMMAR and the abstract creation of this LOCAL THING-IN-ITSELF in a FIGURE-and-GROUND-as-TWO combination comes bundled in with a basic AMBIGUITY as to whether the FIGURE sources the stirring up of the GROUND or whether the GROUND sources the stirring up of the FIGURE.      NOTE that in the real reality, prior to the reduction to language game play, FIGURE-and-GROUND (the swirling as transforming) was only ONE.

BIPOLAR DISORDER: Bipolar Disorder manifests as the conservative – liberal polarizing split in the WESTERN CULTURE social dynamic but NOT among EASTERN CULTURE ADHERENTS since while the WEST regards the FIGURE-and-GROUND-as-TWO SPLIT, as REAL, the EAST regard the FIGURE-and-GROUND-as-TWO SPLIT as a ‘figurative’ means of inferring the FIGURE-and-GROUND-as-ONE reality. For example, the indigenous aboriginal does not believe, as we WESTERN CULTURE ADHERENTS do, that the concept of LOCAL SOURCING is ‘real’. This makes a major difference in the social dynamic since the WESTERN CULTURE belief in LOCAL SOURCING inflates (and/or deflates) the EGO.  In the EASTERN relational understanding of self (mitakuye oyasin), EGO based on notional LOCAL SOURCING is superseded by INSPIRATION that is NONLOCAL and derives from the relational dynamics one is situationally included in.

CONCLUDING NOTE:   

Nietzsche tuned in to BOTH the significance of the DOUBLE ERROR of NAMING and GRAMMAR in its role of rendering the INEFFABLE-because-NONLOCAL-and-IMPLICIT… EFFABLE-because-LOCAL and EXPLICIT … AND its CRAZY-MAKING potential where we employ it (the double error of naming and grammar) as anything more than a tool of INFERENCE.  There is no LOCAL SOURCING in the reality of our sensual experience, there is only TRANSFORMATION which is INEFFABLE-because-NONLOCAL.  Language invents LOCAL NAMING-instantiated BEING with notional GRAMMER-given powers of LOCAL SOURCING as its DOUBLE ERROR based ticket to (reducing-and) EFFABLE-izing the INEFFABLE-because-NONLOCAL-and-IMPLICIT “TRANSFORMATION”.

The WESTERN CULTURE conservative – liberal BIPOLAR DISORDER is a continuing reminder of the dysfunction that comes when we use language to pre-empt sensory experience in our reality conceptualization.  Language is not capable of capturing FIGURE-and-GROUND-as-ONE TRANSFORMATION, but is obliged by its limitations to reduce representation to FIGURE-and-GROUND-as-TWO surrogates, introducing AMBIGUITY as to whether the dynamics of the FIGURE are sourcing change in the dynamics of the GROUND, or whether the dynamics of the GROUND are sourcing change in the dynamics of the FIGURE.  The answer is;

THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS “LOCAL SOURCING”, THERE IS ONLY TRANSFORMATION.

THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS “LOCAL SOURCING”, THERE IS ONLY TRANSFORMATION.

THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS “LOCAL SOURCING”, THERE IS ONLY TRANSFORMATION.

The repetition is intentional to emphasize this point which is RESISTED in our WESTERN CULTURE ADHERENT understanding, by our EGO-driven conviction that NAMING can instantiate things-in-themselves that GRAMMAR can equip with POWERS of SOURCING actions and developments.  This abstract EGO-driven conviction derives from this DOUBLE ERROR of NAMING and GRAMMAR.
