PATHOGENS as TRANSFORMATION-DENIAL (re COVID 19)
INTRODUCTORY NOTE:
Western Medicine continues to employ the language of Europe of the Middle Ages to ‘EFFABLE-IZE’ what modern physics, as well as indigenous aboriginal, Taoist/Buddhist and Advaita Vedanta contend is INEFFABLE. While David Bohm, Wittgenstein, Netzsche and others have pointed out the inadequacy of our language and grammar to capture the reality of our actual sensory experience (of inclusion in the “transforming relational continuum”, we WESTERN CULTURE adherents continue to employ inadequate ‘DOUBLE ERROR’ based language and grammar representations.
Using our inadequate language to try to reflect and share the current complex reality that we are experiencing inclusion in, is delivering confusing shortfalls. This is the complex topic that I am trying to review here, using the same language that I have already mentioned lacks sufficient representational complexity to do the job (i.e. to ‘explicitly spit it out’). However, we do have the tool of INFERENCE to employ, as in poetry and metaphor, (‘A man’s reach must exceed his grasp, or what’s a Meta for’ – McLuhan) . For example, when I use language such as ‘the dune is growing taller and longer and shifting to the south’, … the reader may understand, particularly if a few reminders are thrown in, that what is going on here is the phenomenon of ‘resonance’ (the Wave-field dynamic) but since resonance is NONLOCAL it can’t be captured in EXPLICIT (voyeur-visualizable) terms and we must pass over such phenomena as resonance-based-transformation that we are included in, IN SILENCE, or switch to oblique relational INFERENCE such as where modern physics resorts to ‘The surprise version of the game of Twenty Questions’.
Today, the issue of COVID 19, presented as “a pathogen” (a ‘DOUBLE ERROR’ based abstraction) that has us all scurrying around trying to deal with “IT” and screwing up pretty much everything we have ‘going on’ in the process, exposes the limitations of our DOUBLE ERROR based language representations as never before. This note explores some of the complexities of representation and articulation of what is going on, in regard to what we are calling the COVID 19 Pandemic

The NONLOCALITY characterizing TRANSFORMATION is not something that we WESTERN CULTURE ADHERENTS can easily support. We are the ones that search under the streetlight (in the brightness of the EXPLICIT) for that which we have lost (our deepest, intuitive understanding) in the dark (in the obscurity of the IMPLICIT and relational).
We portray the cigarette butt-tosser as a PATHOGEN that sources forest-fires because that is LOCAL and EXPLICIT while solar irradiance related TRANSFORMATION of the forest into a tinder-box is NONLOCAL and IMPLICIT.
We WESTERN CULTURE ADHERENTS like to ‘call a spade a spade’ and if Jean Valjean is involved in relational TRANSFORMATION wherein there is a natural implicit tendency for shifting from regions of relative surplus to regions of relative deficiency (as from crest to trough in fluid dynamics), we WESTERN CULTURE ADHERENTS prefer to interpret this implicit dynamic in the explicit terms of the act of a PATHOGEN.
Because we WESTERN CULTURE ADHERENTS prefer to understand reality in LOCAL and EXPLICIT or ‘EFFABLE’ representations, the understanding in the IMPLICIT or ‘INEFFABLE’ terms of NONLOCAL relational TRANSFORMATION is pushed aside into the DARKNESS as the EXPLICIT takes center-stage, the spotlight, the microphone-and-loudspeaker, and becomes the authoritative source on ‘reality’.
Beneath every EXPLICIT-because-LOCAL and material understanding of REALITY, there is an IMPLICIT-because-NONLOCAL relational understanding of reality.
The dynamics of Robin Hood and Jean Valjean can be understood in NONLOCAL and IMPLICIT terms (natural flow from regions of surplus to regions of deficiency aka TRANSFORMATION) or in LOCAL and EXPLICIT terms; ‘those guys are PATHOGENS.
We WESTERN CULTURE ADHERENTS prefer the explicit over the implicit, hence we orient to the HERO and PATHOGEN based explanation based on the DOUBLE ERROR abstraction of language and grammar. The FIRST ERROR is NAMING to impute local thing-in-itself existence to a relational form and the SECOND ERROR of GRAMMAR conflates this by imputing the power of SOURCING actions and developments to the NAMING-instantiated thing-in-itself.
THANKS TO THIS ‘DOUBLE ERROR’ WE CAN CREATE THE ABSTRACTIONS OF “HERO” AND “PATHOGEN” SO THAT THESE BECOME CENTRAL FIGURES IN OUR REPRESENTATION OF REALITY.
AS WITH THE MAN WHO PREFERS TO LOOK UNDER THE STREETLIGHT FOR THAT WHICH HE HAS LOST ON A DARK STRETCH OF THE STREET, this is also the case with we WESTERN CULTURE ADHERENTS who see the careless cigarette smoker (or the lightning, or the magnifying glass or the chemical spontaneous combustion) as the LOCAL SOURCING AGENT rather than accepting TRANSFORMATION as our operative understanding. The problem is that TRANSFORMATION is NONLOCAL and ALL-INCLUSIVE and would diminish our DOUBLE ERROR based REPRESENTATION of WHO WE ARE; i.e. our EGO-based representation of who we are.
Sure, modern physics and ‘the EAST’ accept relational TRANSFORMATION aka the Wave-field aka the Tao, … but we WESTERN CULTURE ADHERENTS are ‘not there yet’ and that is why we continue to elevate the abstractions of HEROS and PATHOGENS as EXPLICIT SOURCES OF ACTIONS AND DEVELOPMENTS while in the same fell-stroke eclipsing and obscuring in darkness the understanding of reality in terms of NONLOCAL, IMPLICIT relational TRANSFORMATION, as supported by modern physics, indigenous aboriginal cultures, Taoism/Buddhism and Advaita Vedanta adherents (those that have not been ‘WESTERNIZED’).
Nobody said that the reality of being included in TRANSFORMATION was going to be sweet and smooth and easy. However, reducing relational TRANSFORMATION to ‘the attack of PATHOGENS’ opens a door ‘in the psyche’ to the equally abstract possibility of being able to either AVOID or ELIMINATE the ‘ATTACKING PATHOGENS’.
That is a ‘major recasting’ of relational TRANSFORMATION. In fact it is a CRAZY-MAKING recasting.
In the indigenous aboriginal culture, where the basic understanding of reality is in relational terms, relational dissonance is understood as primary while the pathogen/criminal concept is seen as secondary, in the manner where relational dissonance in community relations ‘heats up’ and people start popping off into angry outbursts like popcorn in a heated environment, but this relations-based heating up is at the bottom of it, and the popping off of the person who ‘pops off’ DOES and DOES NOT originate from his own interior. Viewing him as a PATHOGEN and seeking to AVOID or ELIMINATE him as a PATHOGEN (an independently existing thing-in-itself being whose behaviour is fully internally sourced) will not address the REAL source of the popping off, which is NONLOCAL as in relational TRANSFORMATION.
PATHOGENS AND BENOGENS are binary abstractions that we have written into our cultural representation of reality as HEROS AND VILLAINS; i.e. the sorcerers of GOOD and BAD actions and developments per the DOUBLE ERROR of language and grammar.
HEROS and VILLAINS (PATHOGENS and BENOGENS) are abstract binary-opposite notions that are intellectual derivatives of the DOUBLE ERROR of language and grammar;
The FIRST ERROR is NAMING to impute local thing-in-itself existence to a relational form and the SECOND ERROR of GRAMMAR conflates this FIRST ERROR by imputing the power of SOURCING actions and developments to the NAMING-instantiated thing-in-itself.
The ‘DOUBLE ERROR’ engineers in our intellect based representation, a pseudo-overcoming of NONLOCALITY inherent in the Wave-field aka the Tao, the reality of our sensory experience in the transforming relational continuum.
As Nietzsche and Bohm have pointed out, the Wave-field reality of our natural experience is relational, NONLOCAL and IMPLICIT and thus INEFFABLE. Language and grammar enable us to REDUCE this, by way of the DOUBLE ERROR to a notional LOCAL and EXPLICIT and thus EFFABLE representation.
This REDUCTION opens the way to EFFABLE representation that enables sharing and discussion of the REDUCED-to-EFFABLE representation of the INEFFABLE reality of our experience of inclusion in the transforming relational continuum aka ‘the Wave-field’ aka ‘the Tao’. (Visual representations of our experience cannot capture our sensory experience of inclusion in the Tao).
Meanwhile, ‘The Tao that can be told is not the true Tao’, so that this tellable reduction can only be used as INFERENCE of the INEFFABLE that lies beyond the reach of the EFFABLE. As Wittgenstein observes, we can only use INFERENCE to share our experience of inclusion in the Tao. Modern physics has termed this INFERENCE based approach, BOOTSTRAPPING;
6.54 My propositions are elucidatory in this way: he who understands me finally recognizes them as senseless, when he has climbed out through them, on them, over them. (He must so to speak throw away the ladder, after he has climbed up on it.)

The ABSTRACT BINARY CONCEPTS of PATHOGEN AND BENOGEN or HERO and VILLAIN (notionally with their own LOCAL powers of SOURCING good or bad actions and developments) furnish a crude intellection-based means of REDUCING the NONLOCAL and IMPLICIT reality of our actual sensory experience of inclusion in the transforming relational continuum (aka ‘the Wave-field’ aka ‘the Tao’) … to LOCAL and EXPLICIT representation. This reduced-to-local-and-explicit representation is only good for INFERENCE and not for use as a SURROGATE REALITY, however, using the LOCAL and EXPLICIT representation as the SURROGATE REALITY … IS THE COMMON ERROR, … as pointed out by Nietzsche, Bohm and others, like Emerson, who expressed this in the terms that ‘the tool runs away with the workman, the human with the divine’.
Nietzsche similarly points out that the language and grammar based reduction of the IMPLICIT and NONLOCAL dynamic of relational TRANSFORMATION to the EXPLICIT and LOCAL representations of ‘reason’ has hijacked the rightful PRIMACY of the NONLOCAL-and-thus-IMPLICIT in our understanding; i.e. we have ‘bewitched’ ourselves with the DOUBLE ERROR based reductive tool of ‘reason’;
“Reason” in language!—oh what a deceptive old witch it has been! I fear we shall never be rid of God, so long as we still believe in grammar. –
The ‘DOUBLE ERROR’ is the God of CREATION (the GRAMMAR based power of LOCAL SOURCING OF ACTIONS AND DEVELOPMENTS).
Reality as the NONLOCAL and IMPLICIT ‘Great Mystery’ of the indigenous peoples and as also inferred by the Wave-field of modern physics, has in our WESTERN CULTURE adherent mode of understanding been replaced by ‘reason’ which is based on LOCAL and EXPLICIT reductive representations.
Our DOUBLE ERROR based language and grammar constructs impute the REALITY of the LOCAL SOURCING of actions and developments and it is this LOCAL SORCERY that invokes the impression of a ‘GOD’ as the LOCAL (otherworld based) SOURCE of the world dynamic.
This impression of LOCAL SOURCING (or a LOCAL SORCERER) arises from the DOUBLE ERROR abstraction of notional ‘LOCAL THINGS-IN-THEMSELVES WITH THEIR OWN POWERS OF SOURCING ACTIONS AND DEVELOPMENTS’, as contrasts with the NONLOCAL Wave-field aka ‘the Tao’ wherein purely relational TRANSFORMATION is the operative dynamic and there is NO NEED TO INVENT ‘LOCAL SOURCING OF ACTIONS AND DEVELOPMENTS’.

COVID 19 as a PATHOGEN, and the WESTERN CULTURE ADHERENT’s propensity for regarding PATHOGENS as “REAL” leads WESTERN CULTURE ADHERENTS ‘down the garden path’ to the quest to ELIMINATE or AVOID these notional PATHOGENS which DO NOT EXIST in the relational understanding of reality that is in terms of TRANSFORMATION. (Sure, there is relational dissonance, but that does not translate into ‘the attack of PATHOGENS’).
Just as we WESTERN CULTURE ADHERENTS tried to eliminate, as pathogens, the Robin Hoods, and the Jean Valjeans whose actions were naturally, relationally induced in the quest to cultivate, restore and sustain relational balance within the TRANSFORMING RELATIONAL CONTINUUM, so goes this penchant for ‘eliminating PATHOGENS’ generally in WESTERN CULTURE.
Are there among us ANY who have never felt a need to LET GO OF (and possibly be accused of ‘going against’) the prevailing LOCAL NORMATIVE PATHOGEN ELIMINATING process and become ONE with emergent tides of relational TRANSFORMATION? What was formerly captured by the quasi-respectable term of ‘rebel’ or ‘change-agent’ seems to have progressively been replaced by harsher, more TRANSFORMATION-INTOLERANT terms such as ‘terrorist’ or ‘insurgent’. Yesterday’s respected agent of transformation (e.g. Che Guevara) has become today’s ‘terrorist’ in what seems to be a continuing trend in WESTERN CULTURE to EXPLICITIZE AND LOCALIZE THE IMPLICIT-RELATIONAL-NONLOCAL. In other words, like Robin Hood and Jean Valjean, Che Guevara,’s behaviour induced in the service of RESTORING BALANCE AND HARMONY is instead interpreted in the DOUBLE ERROR sense of local jumpstart instantiation, thus defining those who give themselves up to relational balance-restoring, as PATHOGENS. That is precisely the reason why c. difficile has been labelled a PATHOGEN by Western Medicine in spite of its proliferation being induced by the demolishing of relational balance deriving from the administering of antibiotics.
WESTERN CULTURE ‘JUSTICE’ has been showing no signs of moving closer to indigenous aboriginal justice (which is conformant with modern physics) wherein NONLOCALITY is the prevailing understanding as implied by ‘Mitakuye Oyasin’ (everything is related), which puts the social collective on the path of cultivating and sustaining relational harmony rather than on a purification program based on the abstraction of PATHOGEN ELIMINATION or PATHOGEN AVOIDANCE.
The point is that as kind of VISCOSITY based RESISTANCE to naturally induced TRANSFORMATION can build as in PLATE TECTONICS, and such resistance can lead to TRANSFORMATION by a more COARSELY PUNCTUATED EQUILIBRIM. Whatever unfolds, it would be wise for us to keep in mind that what is REAL is relational TRANSFORMATION while the pseudo-reality of LOCAL SOURCING OF ACTIONS AND DEVELOPMENTS constructed with the DOUBLE ERROR of language and grammar is abstract reductionist REPRESENTATION that includes the abstract concept of the PATHOGENIC SOURCING AGENT.
Whether we are ‘killing PATHOGEN terrorists’ or ‘killing PATHOGEN rhizomes in the garden’ there is always, inevitably COLLATERAL DAMAGE. WHY? BECAUSE IN THE REAL WORLD OF OUR SENSORY EXPERIENCE, EVERYTHING IS RELATED (mitakuye oyasin). AFTER ALL, AS WE FULL-WELL KNOW, the separation of notional (NAMING-instantiated) ‘things-in-themselves’ is an intellectual impression stimulated by the DOUBLE ERROR of language and grammar which we deploy in order to REDUCE and re-render the INEFFABLE as EFFABLE The only way that (relational) FORMS get to be understood as ‘things-in-themselves’ is through NAMING and GRAMMAR, as in the DOUBLE ERROR.

DISCUSSION of the COLLATERAL DAMAGE WE CAN EXPECT FROM SOCIAL BEHAVIOUR SHAPED BY BELIEF IN PATHOGENS AS IN THE CASE OF THE COVID 19 PANDEMIC.
-1- The DOUBLE ERROR based pseudo-reality in terms of local human things-in-themselves with notional powers of sourcing actions and developments [hence BENOGENS and PATHOGENS], is only an expedient tool for reductive effable-ized representations of the ineffable Wave-field aka Tao aka ‘transforming relational continuum. If, in using this tool in our REPRESENTATION of reality, we confuse such REPRESENTATIONS for REALITY, we generate COLLATERAL DAMAGE as in blowing up a whole village (relational complex) to eliminate an alleged ‘terrorist’/’pathogen’. The actual reality is ‘relational dissonance’ associated with TRANSFORMATION and NOT ‘the attack of a PATHOGEN.’
-2- ISOLATING PATHOGENS and PATHOGEN-INFECTED PEOPLE is like ISOLATING CRIMINALS (perceived human pathogens that threaten to do us injury.). PATHOGENS are NOT REAL but based on the DOUBLE ERROR ABSTRACTION (see 1 above) and its imputing of LOCAL instantiation of actions and developments. Even though the PATHOGEN or CRIMINAL does not exist (relational dissonance within the Tao exists), actions that purport to ISOLATE PATHOGENS (e.g. putting ‘criminals’ in jail) may have the effect of SLOWING DOWN TRANSFORMATION. TRANSFORMATION is the ‘real reality’. For example, burning small patches of hyper-dry forested area may set up non-combustible relational separations that slow down TRANSFORMATION. (This is like the simila similaribus curator principle of homeopathic medicine wherein a similar substance heals a similar illness).
-3- QUARANTINING should be seen in the same context as starting (allowing) small fires when the forest is hyperdry and a in the early stages of TRANSFORMATION. In other words, The utility of QUARANTINING is not to STOP TRANSFORMATION IN ITS TRACKS, but to slow it down, like the combining of BOTH jailing some criminals AND changing the laws and practices so that a bloody revolution will not be needed to bring about needed (relational stress-relieving) TRANSFORMATION in the social dynamic. In other words, ZERO spreading of the perceived PATHOGEN is not a useful target, but non-explosive spreading will allow the inevitable TRANSFORMATION to proceed in a less violent manner.
The base-case REALITY is RELATIONAL and it is insane to believe that society is a collection of DOUBLE ERROR based things-in-themselves that can be ‘put on hold’ while we deal with ‘the attack of a PATHOGEN’, and then issue a cessation of the putting on HOLD directive to ‘start things up again’. This raises a question as to what we mean by QUARANTINING. There is the suggestion of CONTAINMENT of virus-infected collectives so as to ‘prevent the spread’ (i.e. to slow down the unfolding TRANSFORMATION) but TRANSFORMATION is the whole thing.so we are not really STOPPING ANYTHING OR PREVENTING SOMETHING FROM HAPPENING; i.e. there is no ‘war’ wherein we are engaging with a perceived PATHOGEN. The point is that OUR OVERALL HEALTH resides in our ability to sustain harmonious relations within the TRANSFORMING RELATIONAL CONTINUUM wherein ‘everything is in flux’ as Heraclitus and modern physics affirm.
-4- DOES IT MATTER HOW WE MENTALLY MODEL DISEASE?
That is, does it matter if we model disease as ‘the attack of a PATHOGEN’? This is a CULTURE-SPLITTER which DIVIDES EAST AND WEST; i.e. In MODERN PHYSICS and as in the EAST; i.e. as in INDIGENOUS ABORIGINAL cultures, TAOISM/BUDDHISM and ADVAITA VEDANTA, reality is a fluid dynamic, a transforming relational continuum, the Wave-field aka the Tao and it is NONLOCAL and INEFFABLE and can only be captured in REDUCED form to be ‘inferentially’ EFFABLE in language and grammar. The DOUBLE ERROR REDUCTION has been discussed above.
Where ‘it matters’ in using the unreal model of the PATHOGEN instead of relational TRANSFORMATION is in the failure to UNDERSTAND and take into account what we loosely call COLLATERAL DAMAGE. There is NO ACTION that is NOT INCLUDED IN relational TRANSFORMATION thus, if we are thinking we are taking a break and ‘standing by’ during a QUARANTINING period, WE ARE NOT. TRANSFORMATION IS A CONTINUUM THAT WE ARE ALL INCLUDED IN AND CONTRIBUTING TO.

FOOTNOTE: The WESTERN PRODUCER-CONSUMER MYTH
A major contributor to the WESTERN CULTURE ADHERENT’S mind-warp is the PRODUCER-CONSUMER abstraction which ECLIPSES the reality of relational TRANSFORMATION and substitutes in its place, the BINARY LOGIC of PRODUCTION and CONSUMPTION which TOTALLY BYPASSES the reality of relational TRANSFORMATION.
Simple binary logic is NOT capable of representing and addressing relational TRANSFORMATION, yet such reduction-to-simplistic-abstraction is given a foundational role in our everyday rhetoric as we construct our language-based representations of the ‘reality’ of our INEFFABLE experience. Modern physics has made clear that in order to give language-based representation to relational TRANSFORMATION, the BOTH-AND LOGIC OF THE INCLUDED MEDIUM is required (the EITHER-OR LOGIC OF the EXCLUDED MEDIUM lacks the basic complexity to capture the dynamics of TRANSFORMATION). For example; the ‘boil’ in the ‘flow’ (e.g. a swirling or hurricaning, BOTH “IS” and “IS NOT” the flow it is included in. In general FIGURE and GROUND terms, the FIGURE BOTH-IS-AND-IS-NOT the GROUND it is included in. We can understand this in terms of ‘Wave-field’ and ‘Wave-field-forms’
In order to capture in language-based representation, the Wave-field reality wherein FIGURE and GROUND are ONE, we need the a NEW (beyond Newtonian) LOGIC; i.e. the BOTH/AND LOGIC OF THE INCLUDED MEDIUM where the MEDIUM is understood as THE FIELD and the FIGURES in the GROUND or FIELD are not, as in WESTERN CULTURE NORMAL INTELLECTUAL REPRESENTATION, understood as TWO but, instead, as ONE; i.e. FIGURE AND GROUND are only ONE. Or as Schroedinger expresses this, SUBJECT and OBJECT are only ONE.
To grasp the implication here, consider the swirling tornado or hurricane within the atmospheric flow. Our use of language and grammar in NAMING IT (“the tornado”) as if it were a “thing-in-itself” instead of how a certain ATMOSPHERIC BEHAVIOUR APPEARS; i.e. as a “tornado-ing, LOGICALLY separates ‘THE TORNADO’ from ‘the FLOW’, … at least it does so when we are employing the LOGIC of the EXCLUDED MEDIUM, in which case we start thinking of the appearance of forms in the flow of nature as SEPARATE THINGS-IN-THEMSELVES, and that is how we ‘present these forms’ in our standard language and grammar based RE-PRESENTATIONS.
If we keep in mind that not all languages of the world have the same meaning-conveying architectures (Benjamin Whorf, Bohm with his Rheomode), we can acknowledge that it is possible, and it does actually happen, that some languages DO NOT SEPARATE THE TORNADO from ‘the FLOW’. For example, indigenous aboriginal languages, unlike our European languages, DO NOT ASSUME A FIGURE-AND-GROUND (SUBJECT-AND-OBJECT) SPLIT. In other words, indigenous aboriginal languages do not assume the EITHER/OR LOGIC OF THE EXCLUDED MEDIUM, …. but instead assume the BOTH/AND LOGIC OF THE INCLUDED MEDIUM wherein FIGURE and GROUND are ONE, … instead of, as in our WESTERN CULTURE LANGUAGE usage, FIGURE AND GROUND ARE TWO. As F. David Peat (co-researcher with David Bohm) points out;
What is needed, Bohm argued in his book Wholeness and the Implicate Order, is a new sort of language, one based on processes and activity, transformation and change, rather than on the interactions of stable objects. Bohm called this hypothetical language the “rheomode.” It is based primarily on verbs and on grammatical structures deriving from verbs. Such a language, Bohm argued, is perfectly adapted to a reality of enfolding and unfolding matter and thought.
David Bohm had not known when he wrote of that concept that such a language is not just a physicist’s hypothesis. It actually exists. The language of the Algonquin peoples was developed by the ancestors specifically to deal with subtle matters of reality, society, thought, and spirituality.
A few months before his death, Bohm met with a number of Algonkian speakers and was struck by the perfect bridge between their language and worldview and his own exploratory philosophy. What to Bohm had been major breakthroughs in human thought — quantum theory, relativity, his implicate order and rheomode – were part of the everyday life and speech of the Blackfoot, Mic Maq, Cree and Ojibwaj.” – F. If we understand reality in the modern physics terms of ‘field’, our VOYEUR view of people and objects as SEPARATE THINGS-IN-THEMSELVES has to give way to an understanding that THERE IS NO VOYEUR VIEW AVAILABLE TO US THAT CAPTURES THE ALL-INCLUDING WAVE-FIELD THAT WE, TOO, ARE INCLUDED IN. Sure, we see the world undergoing TRANSFORMATION, and we see ourselves within this TRANSFORMATION and we say that ‘WE ARE AGING’, keeping to the notion of ourselves as local, independently-existing things-in-ourselves with notional powers of sourcing actions and developments (such as aging). This ‘makes sense’ within a certain type of LOGIC; i.e. the EITHER/OR LOGIC of the EXCLUDED MEDIUM wherein the FIGURES are free to operate as INDEPENDENT THINGS-IN-THEMSELVES within an unspecified mentally implied, abstract empty containingness.
THAT IS JUST ONE WAY, … ONE VERY ABSTRACT WAY, WHICH HAPPENS TO BE OUR WESTERN CULTURE ADHERENT WAY, OF UNDERSTANDING REALITY.
THE OTHER WAY (MODERN PHYSICS AND EASTERN WAY) IS WHERE WE EMPLOY A DIFFERENT LOGIC, THE BOTH/AND LOGIC OF THE INCLUDED MEDIUM WHEREIN FIGURE AND GROUND ARE ONE, AS IN THE ‘WAVE-FIELD’.
Ok, this brings us to the heart of the matter of how our WESTERN CULTURE CONCEPTUALIZING OF REALITY DIFFERS FROM THAT OF MODERN PHYSICS AND FROM THAT OF THE ‘EAST’ (indigenous aboriginal cultures, Taoism/Buddhism and Advaita Vedanta).
One way to grasp how these two cultures with their different LOGICS part ways with one another in their respective understandings of ‘reality’ is to consider The WESTERN PRODUCER-CONSUMER MYTH
The ‘producer-product’ myth builds from the DOUBLE ERROR abstraction of LOCAL SOURCING. LOCAL SOURCING is NOT REAL, but it is a very commonly used (by WESTERN CULTURE ADHERENTS) abstraction based on the DOUBLE ERROR; i.e. the first error is NAMING to impute LOCAL thing-in-itself being to a relational flow-form within the TRANSFORMING RELATIONAL CONTINUUM (the Wave-field), … and this is conflated with a second error of GRAMMAR wherein we impute the power of LOCAL SOURCING of actions and development to the NAMING-instantiated thing-in-itself. This intellectual trickery that imputes ‘local sourcing of actions and developments has us FOCUS IN ON WHAT SEEMS TO BE ‘LOCAL PRODUCTION’, WHETHER IT IS A SEEDLING TREE POKING UP AND OUT INTO THE AIR FROM THE SUN-WARMED SPRING SOIL OR WHATEVER. The point is that ‘language and grammar TAKE OVER, at this point, as if putting a language-based caption implying LOCAL INCIPIENCE beneath this visual experience and registering it in our collection of intellectual representations. In this case, the FERTILE GROUND is the PRODUCER of a PRODUCT, a LOCAL thing-in-itself which we understand as ‘a seedling tree’.
BUT, THERE IS NO ‘LOCAL’ IN THE TRANSFORMING RELATIONAL CONTINUUM AKA ‘THE WAVE-FIELD’ AKA ‘THE TAO’, THERE IS ONLY “NONLOCALITY” AS IS THE NATURE OF WAVE-FIELD BASED RELATIONAL TRANSFORMATION.
PROBLEM!
WAVE-FIELD BASED TRANSFORMING RELATIONAL CONTINUUM IS “EVERYWHERE AT THE SAME TIME” AND WHILE WE HAVE SENSORY EXPERIENCE OF INCLUSION WITHIN IT, WE CANNOT GET OUTSIDE OF IT TO HAVE A VOYEUR LOOK-SEE THAT WE CAN CAPTURE IN LANGUAGE-BASED RHETORICAL REPRESENTATION.
AS WITTGENSTEIN EXPRESSES THIS in his final two propositions in Tractatus Logico Philosophicus, we must use RELATIONAL INFERENCE (‘bootstrapping’) to allude to reality that is in continual flux because it cannot be captured with explicit language.
6.54 My propositions are elucidatory in this way: he who understands me finally recognizes them as senseless, when he has climbed out through them, on them, over them. (He must so to speak throw away the ladder, after he has climbed up on it.
He must surmount these propositions; then he sees the world rightly.

So, NONLOCALITY corresponds to the reality of our actual sensory experience of inclusion in the transforming relational continuum aka the ‘Wave-field’ aka ‘the Tao’, and since it cannot be explicitly captured in language, we can only use language in a ‘bootstrapping’ or inference based mode
BUT WE WESTERN CULTURE ADHERENTS continue to BULL our way through in our construction of REPRESENTATIONS OF REALITY, employing language and grammar IN DOUBLE ERROR MODE, … AS IF IT WERE CAPABLE OF CAPTURING REAL REPRESENTATIONS OF REALITY. For example, when we employ voyeur visualizing mode and say; ‘hurricane Katrina is growing larger and stronger and is devastating New Orleans’, … we are wallpapering over the reality of relational TRANSFORMATION with this LOGICALLY REDUCED PSEUDO-REALITY that is in PRODUCER-PRODUCT terms which imply LOCAL INCIPIENCE of the hurricane; i.e. there is no mention of the atmosphere and the solar irradiance and the whole relationally TRANSFORMING universe because language and grammar equip us with the abstracting powers of LOCALIZING inherently NONLOCAL phenomena at the expense of dropping out the bulk of the ‘reality’ that comes to us through our sensory experience of inclusion in the NONLOCAL Wave-field.
OVER-SIMPLISTIC EITHER/OR LOGIC OF THE EXCLUDED MEDIUM IS WHAT WE WESTERN CULTURE ADHERENTS ARE USING TO RADICALLY REDUCE, IN OUR LANGUAGE AND GRAMMAR REPRESENTATIONS, THE PHENOMENON OF RELATIONAL TRANSFORMATION. THIS OVER-SIMPLISTIC LOGIC IS WHAT DELIVERS THE PRODUCER-PRODUCT ABSTRACTION.
MODERN PHYSICS, (AND INDIGENOUS ABORIGINAL, TAOIST/BUDDHIST AND ADVAITA VEDANTA CULTURES) EMPLOYING MORE COMPREHENSIVE BOTH/AND LOGIC OF THE INCLUDED MEDIUM PRESERVE THE ONE-NESS OF FIGURE-AND-GROUND (SUBJECT-AND-OBJECT) AND RETAIN THE UNDERSTANDING OF THE REALITY DYNAMIC IN TERMS OF RELATIONAL TRANSFORMATION.
COVID 19, …. IS UNDERSTOOD DIFFERENTLY THROUGH THESE TWO DIFFERENT LOGICS, THE WESTERN “EITHER/OR LOGIC OF THE EXCLUDED MEDIUM’ REDUCING TRANSFORMATION TO TERMS OF ‘THE PRODUCER-PRODUCT ACHIEVEMENTS OF HEROS’ AND THE DESTRUCTIVE WORKS OF PATHOGENS, … VERSUS THE MODERN PHYSICS AND EASTER “BOTH/AND LOGIC OF THE INCLUDED MEDIUM’ FEATURING RELATIONAL TRANSFORMATION AS THE REALITY OF OUR SENSORY EXPERIENCE OF INCLUSION THEREIN.
OUR RESPONSE TO THE RELATIONAL TRANSFORMATION REFERRED TO IN TERMS OF THE ATTACK OF THE PATHOGEN ‘COVID 19’ WILL DIFFER SIGNIFICANTLY. The general sense of this difference can be understood by the example of Robin Hood and Jean Valjean, who are seen, in our standard WESTERN CULTURE EITHER/OR LOGIC OF THE EXCLUDED MEDIUM representation, as PATHOGENS, but who are seen in RELATIONAL TRANSFORMATION terms by modern physics and the EASTERN (indigenous aboriginal), Taoist/Buddhist and Advaita Vedanta cultures. In the relational understanding, TRANSFORMATION is continually underway because it is the basic reality; i.e. it is the Wave-field aka ‘the Tao’ that is all-inclusive and includes ourselves.
The COVID 19 Pandemic, … as we are calling it, is like a call-to-arms against attacking pathogens, like Robin Hood and Jean Valjean, … whose actions are, meanwhile, as aspect of RELATIONAL TRANSFORMATION that is activated in the sustaining of dynamic relational balance, as characterizes TRANSFORMATION in a fluid medium or rather ‘TRANSFORMATION “OF” a fluid medium since the transforming fluid medium IS EVERYTHING, while the pieces we break it down into with the NAMING based representational capability of language are separate pieces in our language-and-grammar stimulated intellectualizing only, serving as a means of TALKING ABOUT the basically INEFFABLE Wave-field (Tao) we are included in.
In the language and logic of WESTERN CULTURE ADHERENTS, we were under attack by the pathogens Robin Hood and Jean Valjean in the same sense (based on topology/geometry and logic) as we see ourselves as currently under attack by the PATHOGEN COVID 19. This language and grammar based REDUCTION of the ineffable to a crude effable, is a very valuable tool OF INFERENCE but it becomes a CRAZY-MAKER if taken too literally. Once we start making and posting POSTERS OF PATHOGENS, like posters of Bandits such as Robin Hood and Jean Valjean and COVID 19, we are putting people into a DEFENSIVE MODE when what is needed is to revive understanding of our inclusion in TRANSFORMATION and thus our need to cultivate relational balance as best we can. Even indigenous aboriginal cultures will restrain or eliminate those ‘popping off’ when the relational dynamics become stressed, but without ever regarding the SOURCE of the popping off as coming about in a simplist LOCALLY INCIPIENT PRODUCER-PRODUCT sense, such ‘popping off’ deriving instead from the TRANSFORMING RELATIONAL DYNAMICS the ‘popper-off’er’ is situationally/relationally included in.
The ‘second order’ phenomenon is the war against the perceived PATHOGENS, but the first order phenomenon is RELATIONAL TRANSFORMATION, as in the example of Robin Hood and Jean Valjean. The same applies to the notional PATHOGEN in general, and thus to the appearance of COVID 19.
COVID 19 is the harbinger of emergent relational TRANSFORMATION within the transforming relational continuum. We can’t IMMUNIZE OURSELVES AGAINST TRANSFORMATION because it is everywhere at the same time, but as in social dynamics, the deploying of guns and fortresses, can shift the unfolding pattern of transformation as the transformation of an over-ripe apple where cleaning and wiping off parts of the apple may delay the relentless approach and engulfment in the wave of TRANSFORMATION. A TRANSFORMING UNIVERSE may be felt (sensually experienced) differently depending on our situation within it (e.g. if we are situated on the pole or the equator within a spherical space. We know that it is possible to re-situate within such transformation but such ‘immunization’ is like hosing down one’s house to keep it from going up in flames during the passage of a brush fire; i.e. it does nothing to stop TRANSFORMATION in which we are all included; i.e. TRANSFORMATION is a NONLOCAL phenomenon. ‘PRODUCER-PRODUCT LOGIC’ does not overcome this. The GROWTH of our farm from 2 acres to 160 acres IS NOT REAL since it says nothing about the associated reduction of WILDERNESS or in other words, our inclusion in TRANSFORMATION.
The point of this FOOTNOTE: The WESTERN PRODUCER-CONSUMER MYTH is to bring to the fore of our intellectual deliberating, the reality of TRANSFORMATION and the non-reality of our DOUBLE ERROR based REDUCTION based on the binary EITHER/OR LOGIC OF THE EXCLUDED MEDIUM.
The belief in REPRESENTATIONS employing the abstraction of EITHER/OR LOGIC of the EXCLUDED medium (where FIGURE and GROUND are TWO) is the source of belief in THE PATHOGEN/VILLAIN (and its opposite, the BENOGEN/HERO), and this belief can really screw up our response to awareness of our INCLUSION IN TRANSFORMATION as understood with BOTH/AND logic of the INCLUDED medium (where FIGURE and GROUND are ONE), an awareness we can hardly avoid when our sensory experience is continually reminding us of our being included in something ‘bigger than ourselves and bigger than “our own producer-product constructions”‘.
Meanwhile, our WESTERN CULTURE ADHERENT subscription to the imputed ‘reality’ of EITHER/OR LOGIC of the EXCLUDED medium plays the foundational role in our DOUBLE ERROR based language and grammar constructed REPRESENTATIONS of ‘reality’. In this abstract DOUBLE ERROR based pseudo-reality, FIGURE and GROUND (SELF and OTHER) are understood as TWO giving rise to the schizophrenic SPLITTING of SELF from the ONE-NESS of BOTH/AND LOGIC of the INCLUDED medium, to the TWO-NESS of EITHER/OR LOGIC of the EXCLUDED medium. This leads to ‘delusions of grandeur’ where we see ourselves in PRODUCER-PRODUCT terms as the jumpstart LOCAL authors of actions and developments, and it likewise leads to ‘delusions of paranoid fear’ via the imagined existence of PATHOGENS that are out to attack and harm us.
We can’t get of paranoid fear of PATHOGENS while we are continuing to promote the PRODUCER-PRODUCT pseudo-reality that is ‘holding up’ our WESTERN CULTURE ADHERENT EGO where we are perceiving ourselves in the DOUBLE ERROR terms of NAMING instantiated things-in-ourselves (first error) with GRAMMAR-given powers of SOURCING actions and developments (second error). This EGO belief is thanks to the splitting off of the FIGURE from the GROUND and setting up the FIGURE as a thing-in-itself with the DOUBLE ERROR ploy. The GROUND, which is all part of the FIGURE and GROUND ONE-NESS in modern physics and in the EAST, is in that case reduced to a forgotten darkness which comes back to ‘haunt us’ since we have only artificially ‘made it disappear’ with our DOUBLE ERROR based usage of language and grammar, as in PRODUCER-PRODUCT abstraction based on EITHER/OR LOGIC of the EXCLUDED medium. (It is the synthetically, by way of language and grammar, EXCLUDED MEDIUM that hangs around and haunts us because its presence remains and it is only our EITHER/OR language based re-presentations that ‘make it disappear’. When we say and keep in mind the representation that Robin Hood and Jean Valjean and COVID 19 ‘are doing this or that in PATHOGEN fashion’ (presenting them via the DOUBLE ERROR abstraction) we have SUBSTITUTED a radically reduced pseudo-reality for the INEFFABLE REALITY OF OUR SENSORY EXPERIENCE OF INCLUSION IN THE TRANSFORMING RELATIONAL CONTINUUM. Again, the SUBSTITUTING of such reductive DOUBLE ERROR representation RATHER THAN OUR EMPLOYING IT AS INFERENCE OF A RELATIONAL AND THUS INEFFABLE WAVE-FIELD REALITY, IS A CRAZY-MAKER, AND THAT CRAZINESS IS KNOWN AS WESTERN CULTURE “NORMALITY”.
