THE PSYCHOLOGICAL COMPLICATIONS OF “DECLARATIONS OF INDEPENDENCE”

The reader of this essay, in order to understand it, must keep in mind that there are ISSUES with the LANGUAGE we are using. While this is consistent with the OLD UNDERSTANDING that “TO EVERYTHING THERE IS A SEASON AND A TIME TO EVERY PURPOSE” which is a REMINDER that we SHARE INCLUSION IN A CONTAINER that is NOT EMPTY but FULL so that OUR ACTIONS ARE NOT SIMPLY OF OUR OWN AUTHORING, but derive from the ANDROGYNOUS combinaton of the currently ACCOMMODATING or DISACCOMMODATING PLENUM … AND… at the same time, FROM OUR OWN ACTIONS AND DEVELOPMENTS. While we WESTERN CULTURE ADHERENTS are in in the EGO-INFLATING HABIT of claiming that we are the AUTHORS OF OUR OWN ACTIONS, such as FETCHING OYSTERS from Nanoose Bay, as if our POSTIVE MALE ASSERTING/ACTUALIZING DYNAMIC of GATHERING OYSTERS is “THE FULL STORY”, the REALITY is that we will wait WEEKS for a LOW TIDE that opens up easier access to the Oyster beds. Here we see how our WESTERN CULTURE LINGUISTIC CONCEPTUALIZING SCHEME employs the SIMPLIFICATION of DROPPING OUT MENTION of the PRIMACY of the FEMALE ACCOMMODATING/ENABLING CONJUGATE (the ‘season’ that opense up opportunities for actions on our part, that we SPEAK ABOUT while DROPPING OUT MENTION of the FEMALE ACCOMMODATING/ENABLING opporunity THAT IS A PRIMARY SHAPER OF OUR MALE ASSERTING/ACTUALIZING DYNAMICS.

In WESTERN CULTURE, FULL RESPONSIBILITY is given to the AUTHOR OF A PUNCH that SHATTERS THE SKULL of the recipient, REGARDLESS of the fact that the recipient has an EGG-SHELL THIN SKULL. In WESTERN CULTURE JUSTICE, this is referred to as “TAKING YOUR VICTIMS AS THE COME”. The point here is that WESTERN CULTURE LINGUISTIC CONCEPTUALIZING has a common habit of DROPPING OUT MENTION of the EVER-PRESENT and PRIMARY INFLUENCING ROLE of the FEMALE ACCOMMODATING/ENABLING influence. All actions and developments are of NONLOCAL and IMPLICIT (relational) ORIGIN. THIS IS THE UNDERSTANDING OF INDIGENOUS ABORIGINALS, TAOISTS/BUDDHISTS and ADVAITA VEDANTA and it is SUPPORTED BY MODERN PHYSICS. This the foundation for RESTORATIVE JUSTICE which follows from the fact that the ORIGN OF EVENTS is NONLOCAL and IMPLICIT while what APPEARS to be LOCAL and and EXPLICIT is, in Schroedinger’s terms, “Schaumkommen” (APPEARANCE)
The WESTERN CULTURE “CONDITIONED” READER may be SO ACCUSTOMED to using LANGUAGE that SUPPORTS the SIMPLIFYING LINGUISTIC CONCEPTUALIZING SCHEME wherein the natural primacy of the FEMALE ACCOMMODATING/ENABLING INFLUENCE of the PLENUM is DROPPED OUT, leading to a LINGUISTIC CONCEPTUALIZING that is based ONE-SIDEDLY on MALE ASSERTING/ACTUALIZING WITH “NO MENTION OF THE INNATE, NATURAL PRIMACY OF THE FEMALE ACCOMMODATING/ENABLING conjugate. WESTERN CULTURE “IMAGINARY LINE BASED DECLARATIONS OF INDEPENDENCE” create the ABSTRACTION of LOCAL, EXPLICIT BEING based ENTITIES such as “INDEPENDENT NATIONS” which is a GREAT MISTAKE that gives WESTERN CULTURE SOCIAL COLLECTIVES THE IMPLIED “RIGHT” TO “DO THEIR OWN THING” AS IF “THEY REALLY WERE INDEPENDENT” by way of simply “DECLARING THEIR INDEPENDENCE”. This ELEVATING OF TRUST IN LINGUISTIC CONCEPTUALIZATIONS (such as DECLARATIONS OF INDEPENDENCE) so that they TRUMP the understanding coming from our SENSE-EXPERIENCE, US SUSTAINED BY NOTHING OTHER THAN EGOTISTICAL PRIDE TIED TO THE IMAGINARY “BEING” CALLED THE “INDEPENDENT NATION” that is a purely IMAGINARY LINGUISTIC CONCEPTUALIZATION SUPPORTED BY COLLECTIVE COMMITMENT. This COMMITMENT is based on SECURING THE RIGHTS TO OWNERSHIP OF LAND BY SIMPLE STAKING OUT AN AREA OF LAND AND BACKING UP THE NOTIONAL “OWNERSHIP” OF THE STAKED-OUT AREA WITH MILITARY FORCE.
Indigenous aboriginals are CORRECT in CALLING OUT THE BULLSHIT NATURE OF WESTERN CULTURE IMAGINARY LINE BASED DECLARATIONS OF INDEPENDENCE, but the PERSISTENCE of this CLAIM, RATHER THAN BEING BASED ON SENSE-EXPERIENCE, is BASED ON INTELLECTUAL ABSTRACTION BACKED UP BY MILITARY MIGHT, which has opened up game-play that can be likened to MUSICAL CHAIRS where the DANCE of MILITARY EMPOWERMENT DETERMINES the PURPORTED “BEING” of the “INDEPENDENT NATION”. The “SYSTEMS SCIENCES” thinkers have used the phrase “THE NAME OF THE DEVIL IS SUBOPTIMIZATION” to point out that WE ARE CRAZY to pursue actions that FALSELY ASSUME THE INDEPENDENCE OF NATIONS WHICH ARE, IN REALITY, INTERCONNECTED AND INTERDEPENDENT as is everything in this world of continuing TRANSFORMATION.

The solar irradiance animated river systems and atmospheric cloud systems (moisture distribution systems) are GLOBALLY interconnected and interdependent. WE CAN’T REALISTICALLY UNDERSTAND THIS SYSTEM BY BREAKING IT INTO NOTIONALLY SEPARATE PIECES. The FRAGMENTED SYSTEM that supports SUBOPTIMIZATION is basically a NEW PSEUDO-REALITY that WE WESTERN CULTURE ADHERENTS HAVE CREATED, based on THE INTELLECTUAL SOPHISTRY THAT LINGUISTIC CONCEPTUALIZATION IS CAPABLE OF, THAT IS INTELLECTUALLY CONSISTENT (as is the case with the analytic‐reductionist scientific paradigm) BUT IS NOT SUPPORTED BY SENSE-EXPERIENCE which informs us of our inclusion in a world characterized by global interconnectedness and mutual interdependence.
POLITICIANS before DONALD TRUMP have HEDGED THEIR BETS on the issue of INDEPENDENCE of the NATION by co-cultivating ALLIANCES and other relational agreements that have avoided GOING TO THE EXTREMES OF THE FALSE NOTION OF “INDEPENDENCE”. As we know from our sense-experience, we share inclusion in a world of interconnections and interdependences wherein THERE IS NO ABSOLUTE EITHER RIGHT OR WRONG (such BINARY ANALYSIS MAKES NO SENSE IN A WORLD OF INTERCONNECTIONS and INTERDEPENDENCIES), in which case the system of JUSTICE must be RESTORATIVE rather than PURIFICATIONIST, as has been the practice of indigenous aboriginals.
WHAT IS STOPPING THIS EMBRACE OF RESTORATIVE JUSTICE IN WESTERN CULTURE? “EGO” that supports the FALSE NOTION of “LOCAL AUTHORING” of actions and developments which has established the practice of REWARDING AND RESPECTING THE PURPORTED “LOCAL AUTHORS” OF GOOD ACTIONS AND DEVELOPMENTS and the PUNISHING and DENIGRATION OF THE PURPORTED “LOCAL AUTHORS” OF BAD ACTIONS AND DEVELOPMENTS”.
WHILE “EGO” SUPPORTS THE FALSE PREMISE OF “LOCAL AUTHORING”, SENSE-EXPERIENCE REALITY DOES NOT SUPPORT “LOCAL AUTHORING”. ALL AUTHORING WITH THE TRANSFORMING RELATIONAL CONTINUUM IS NONLOCAL and IMPLICIT, WHICH IS WHY JUSTICE MUST BE, AND IS, IN INDIGENOUS ABORIGINAL (TRADITIONAL PRACTICE), “RESTORATIVE” (e.g. as in the HEALING CIRCLE). RESTORATIVE JUSTICE is needed because of the NONLOCAL and IMPLICIT ORIGIN of emergent events where are coming from a social matrix that is INTERCONNECTED and INTERDEPENDENT. WESTERN CULTURE JUSTICE is PURIFICATIONIST due to the MISTAKEN BELIEF in the INDEPENDENCE of the “HUMAN BEING” which CONTRASTS with the INTERCONNECTION and INTERDEPENDENCE of participansts in the SOCIAL COLLECTIVE which is the understanding in indigenous aboriginal cultures WHICH IS SUPPORTED BY MODERN PHYSICS.
THE ”BOTTOM LINE” IS THAT “RESTORATIVE JUSTICE MAKES SENSE WHEN WE ACCEPT (AS WE SHOULD) THAT SENSORY EXPERIENCE IS IN PRECEDENCE OVER THE INTELLECTUAL ABSTRACTION OF CASTING OURSELVES IN THE EGO BASED TERMS AS LOCAL AUTHORS OF OUR OWN ACTIONS AND DEVELOPMENTS, A FALSE PREMISE WHICH AS NIETZSCHE HAS POINTED OUT, DERIVES FROM THE DOUBLE ERROR OF NAMING AND GRAMMAR.

THE ABOVE IS A REVIEW OF SOME BASIC ISSUES such as the fact that BINARY EITHER/OR LOGIC of the EXCLUDED MEDIUM is “TOO SIMPLE A LOGIC TO DEAL WITH OUR SENSE-EXPERIENCE REALITY”, AND WHAT IS NEEDED, INSTEAD, IS THE LESS SIMPLE NONBINARY BOTH/AND LOGIC OF THE INCLUDING MEDIUM. In this LATTER UNDERSTANDING, MATERIAL FORMS ARE CONDENSATIONS OF THE ALL-INCLUDING ENERGY-CHARGED PLENUM in which chase “EVERYTHING IS INTERCONNECTED and INTERDEPENDENT” as within the one energy-charged plenum; i.e. Space is not empty. It is full, a plenum as opposed to a vacuum, and is the ground for the existence of everything, including ourselves.” (David Bohm).
This UNDERSTANDING that EVERYTHING IS INTERCONNECTED AND INTERDEPENDENT by virtue of all things being condensations OF and WITHIN the all-including energy-charge PLENUM is what separates the EASTERN CULTURES of indigenous aboriginals, Taoists/Buddhists and Advaita Vedanta adherents, … FROM… WESTERN CULTURES influenced by the ABRAHAMIC religions of JUDAISM, CHRISTIANITY (dominant in theU.S.) and ISLAM (dominant in IRAN) wherein EVERYTHING IS DISCONNECTED AND INDEPENDENT as if material entities in EMPTY SPACE whose actions RATHER THAN BEING OF NONLOCAL and IMPLICIT ORIGIN as in the EASTERN CULTURE, are understood to be LOCAL AND EXPLICIT as presented by way of SIMPLE BINARY EITHER/OR LOGIC of the EXCLUDED MEDIUM (EMPTY SPACE MEDIUM).
In the MODERN PHYSICS understanding, as also in indigenous aboriginal, Taoist/Buddhist and Advaita Vedanta understanding, the origin of events is NONLOCAL and IMPLICIT. As Bohm describes this, because the origin of events is NONLOCAL and IMPLICIT, the JUSTICE system must be RESTORATIVE because of the complexity of the origin of events, whether judged to be GOOD or BAD; a complexity that Bohm describes as follows;

THE ESSAY STARTS BELOW; now that the reader has been FOREWARNED that an understanding requires the less simple BOTH/AND LOGIC of the INCLUDING MEDIUM since the WESTERN CULTURE SIMPLIFIED STANDARD of EITHER/OR LOGIC of the EXCLUDED MEDIUM is too simple and thus UNABLE TO SUPPORT the understandings that are BOTH/AND LOGIC of the INCLUDING MEDIUM BASED. For example, If I start speaking in terms of how THE TOWN IS GROWING, I have established the tactic of using SIMPLE BINARY LOGIC where the TOWN is PORTRAYED AS AN INDEPENDENT ENTITY capable of ITS OWN ACTIONS AND DEVELOPMENT such as GROWTH, DEVELOPMENT and PRODUCTION of goods. THIS SIMPLIFIED IMPRESSION OBSCURES FROM OUR THINKING, the LESS SIMPLE NONBINARY LOGIC of the INCLUDING MEDIUM as captured in the proposition “THERE IS TOWNING IN THE TRANSFORMING LANDSCAPE” WHEREIN EVERYTHING IS IN CONTINUING FLUX WITHIN THE ALL-INCLUDING TRANSFORMING PLENUM.

I was thinking of how artists can tap into emotional input from certain patterns of colours and shapes and their relations that are not dependent on ‘known things’ and, while I am not a graphic artist, I do work with relationships that are uncommon and which are not graphically capturable (they are nonlocal and implicit relationships).
For me, this awareness informs us that ‘there is something more than the “LOCAL and EXPLICIT”; i.e. the “NONLOCAL and IMPLICIT” which is the actual ‘structure’ of the world in the Modern physics Wave-field view where the WAVE-FIELD (which is NONLOCAL and IMPLICIT) is the PRIMARY REALITY while the “LOCAL AND EXPLICIT” of material objects is “Schaumkommen” (APPEARANCE) as Schroedinger points out using his German language which seems to capture this UNDERSTANDING of MODERN PHYSICS that that which is LOCAL and EXPLICIT (what we call MATERIAL OBJECTS) is NOT PRIMARY REALITY but SECONDARY since material objects are CONDENSATIONS of the ENERGY-CHARGED PLENUM (aka wave-field). This understanding means that we cannot build our linguistic conceptualizing scheme by giving a foundational role to MATERIAL OBJECTS since they are SECONDARY, being the CONDENSATIONS of the PRIMARY REALITY which is the TRANSFORMING ENERGY-CHARGED PLENUM which is the ‘mother of’ the CONDENSATIONS. These CONDENSATIONS, although they APPEAR LOCAL and EXPLICIT and INDEPENDENT of what seems to be an EMPTY CONTAINING SPACE, are in REALITY (this is basic to Modern physics) CONDENSATIONS of the ALL-INCLUDING ENERGY-CHARGED PLENUM aka the WAVE-FIELD.
So, what I ‘work on’ is the understanding of the physical world based on the fact that the PRIMARY ESSENCE of our reality is the NONLOCAL and IMPLICIT ENERGY-CHARGED PLENUM within which (and this is secondary) there are CONDENSATIONS. This relationship is like WHORLINGS in FLOWING; i.e. the WHORLINGS are “BOTH” themselves “AND” at the same time, the “FLOWING” they are included in. Modern physics has shown that while Classical physics (which we WESTERN CULTURE ADHERENTS have built it into our linguistic conceptualizing scheme) uses SIMPLE BINARY EITHER/OR LOGIC of the EXCLUDED MEDIUM where we assume that material forms are contained WITHIN AN ABSOLUTE EMPTY AND INFINITE SPACE which is NOT the REALITY; i.e. in this regard, we have to take stock of the FACT that we ARE NOT MATERIAL OBJECTS that move about and interact within an ABSOLUTE EMPTY AND INFINITE SPACE as we WESTERN CULTURE ADHERENTS have BUILT INTO THE FOUNDATIONS OF OUR LINGUISTIC CONCEPTUALIZING SCHEME, where we MIS represent ourselves as INDEPENDENT MATERIAL ENTITIES notionally WITH OUR OWN POWERS OF LOCAL AUTHORING of ACTIONS and DEVELOPMENTS. NO! NO! NO!. Modern physics affirms the understanding of indigenous aboriginals, Taoists/Buddhists and Advaita Vedanta adherent IN THAT WE ARE INCLUSIONS (CONDENSATIONS) WITHIN THE ENERGY-CHARGED PLENUM, which MAKES A BIG DIFFERENCE IN HOW WE TREAT ONE ANOTHER because Modern physics is AFFIRMING the HERACLITEAN as well as the Indigenous aboriginal, Taoists etc. understanding of the world as an all-including energy-charged PLENUM in which WE and all material forms are CONDENSATIONS, in which case we are all participants within the all-including transforming relational continuum.
TODAY, WE WESTERN CULTURE ADHERENTS and our CULTURE which is BINARY LOGIC based and conceives of the world as AN ABSOLUTE EMPTY AND INFINITE SPACE locally populated by MATERIAL ENTITIES, which is “DEAD WRONG” but which does serve as a COMMUNICATIONS TOOL that WORKS (although it simplifies what is presented as REALITY). For example, “IT WORKS” when we WESTERN CULTURE ADHERENTS use the (BINARY EITHER/OR LOGIC of the EXCLUDED MEDIUM [empty space medium] and say “THE TOWN IS GROWING, DEVELOPING and PRODUCING goods” as if the TOWN were included in and operating in an EMPTY SPACE.
Here, we are using language to infuse the FALSE NOTION of “LOCAL AUTHORING OF ACTIONS and DEVELOPMENT” making it APPEAR as if WE ARE THE AUTHORS OF THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE TOWN.
THE REAL PICTURE IS DIFFERENT IN THAT WHAT MAKES SENSE IS THAT WE ACKNOWLEDGE THAT “WE ARE INCLUDED IN SOMETHING GREATER THAN OURSELVES” SO THAT “WE ARE NOT THE LOCAL AUTHORS OF ANYTHING” (that is just a convenient simplification we build into our linguistic conceptualizing scheme using, as Nietzsche has pointed out, “THE DOUBLE ERROR OF NAMING AND GRAMMAR”, as for example, “OUR COMMUNITY BUILT THIS TOWN”.
GOODBYE TO OUR UNDERSTANDING OF THE REALITY THAT “WE ARE INCLUDED IN THE TRANSFORMING RELATIONAL CONTINUUM THAT IS GREATER THAN OURSELVES, … HELLO TO THE WESTERN CULTURE EGO-BASED FALSEHOOD OF OUR HAVING OUR OWN POWERS OF LOCAL AUTHORING OF ACTIONS AND DEVELOPMENT SUCH AS THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE TOWN! While we WESTERN CULTURE ADHERENTS use the SIMPLE BINARY LOGIC BASED (DOUBLE ERROR OF NAMING AND GRAMMAR BASED) LINGUISTIC CONCEPTUALIZATION such as “WE BUILT THIS TOWN”, … as Goedel’s Theorem informs us, ALL FINITE LOGICAL PROPOSITIONS ARE INCOMPLETE, and in this case, we OUR PROPOSITION IS INCOMPLETE IN THAT WE MADE NO MENTION of the FOREST WE CHOPPED DOWN FOR LUMBER AND THE GRAVEL AND METALS WE MINED all of which contributed to WHAT REALLY TRANSPIRED which was the TRANSFORMING OF THE LANDSCAPE in which we share inclusion.
IT ALSO WORKS (and it works SO MUCH BETTER) in the approach and linguistic conceptualizing scheme of indigenous aboriginals who use the LESS SIMPLE (NONBINARY BOTH/AND LOGIC of the INCLUDING MEDIUM), for example; “THERE IS TOWNING and HUMANING] IN THE TRANSFORMING LANDSCAPE” (NOTE that there is no role for EMPTY SPACE here, which is IMPORTANT because the understanding that we are CONDENSATIONS within the ONE, ALL-INCLUDING ENERGY-CHARGED PLENUM means that everything is INTERCONNECTED and INTERDEPENDENT so there is NO SUCH THING AS INDEPENDENT BEINGS WITH THEIR OWN INDEPENDENT ACTIONS. BUT IN OUR WESTERN CULTURE LINGUISTIC CONCEPTUALIZING SCHEME WHERE WE PORTRAY OURSELVES AS INDEPENDENT MATERIAL BEINGS IN EMPTY SPACE, which means that WE ARE FULLY AND SOLELY RESPONSIBLE FOR AUTHORING OUR OWN ACTIONS AND DEVELOPMENT.
We WESTERN CULTURE ADHERENTS ARE SCREWING UP BY USING THE BINARY LOGIC BASED PSEUDO-REALITY of MATERIAL FORMS IN EMPTY SPACE. IN REALITY, EVERYTHING IS INTERCONNECTED AND INTERDEPENDENT because all ‘THINGS’ are CONDENSATIONS of the ALL-INCLUDING ENERGY-CHARGED PLENUM;

In our WESTERN CULTURE CASE, the HIGH SWITCHING COSTS include our having to DEBUNK the DOUBLE ERROR based concept of LOCAL AUTHORING where we CREDIT A PARTICULAR INDIVIDUAL FOR A GOOD ACT OR A BAD ACTION (this is all based on BINARY EITHER/OR LOGIC of the EXCLUDED MEDIUM (empty space medium)). In SENSE-EXPERIENCE BASED REALITY, “THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS LOCAL AUTHORING OF ACTIONS AND DEVELOPMENT” because we are all INTERCONNECTED and INTERDEPENDENT, since we are all CONDENSATIONS of the ALL-INCLUDING ENERGY-CHARGED PLENUM, which calls for RESTORATIVE JUSTICE .
The ABSTRACTON of LOCAL AUTHORING is a FICTION deriving from the DOUBLE ERROR of NAMING and GRAMMAR where we employ PROPOSITIONS such as John Wilkes Booth shot and killed Abraham Lincoln. As Bohm points out, such language oversimplifies what really happens which is that SOURCING of actions is NONLOCAL and IMPLICIT (relational) as in Bohm’s following example of the SHOOTING of LINCOLN by JOHN WILKES BOOTH;

While the indigenous aboriginal will use a POTLATCH wherein those to whom nature has given plenty to SHARE SUCH ABUNDANCE with their fellow community members, balancing out those who suffered crop failures from floods or hailstorms or etc. or from the changing movements of game animals, and varying abundance of fish etc.
WESTERN CULTURE gives CREDIT solely to the individual for HIS ACHIEVEMENTS in fishing, hunting, cultivating/farming land, IN SPITE OF THE OVER-RIDING INFLUENCE OF THE FEMALE ACCOMMODATING/ENABLING (favorable or unfavorable weather (rain, floods, droughts, hurricanes, hailstorms etc.). This follows from the fact that WESTERN CULTURE LINGUISTIC CONCEPTUALIZING “DROPS OUT” the FEMALE ACCOMMODATING/ENABLING CONJUGATE and SPEAKS IN ONE-SIDED TERMS OF MALE ASSERTING/ACTUALIZING. WESTERN CULTURE JUSTICE gives full and SOLE authoring attribution to the PUNCHER for the SHATTERING OF THE SKULL of the person he punches, REGARDLESS OF THE FACT that the RECIPIENT OF THE PUNCH HAS AN EGGSHELL THIN SKULL, where the DAMAGE is MORE DUE TO THE FEMALE ACCOMMODATING/ENABLING collapsing of the skull THAN TO THE FORCE OF THE PUNCH. WESTERN CULTURE is filled with aphorisms such as “My father was a famous engineed; my mother had no name” (El Salvadoran poet Claribel Alegria) underscoring a WESTERN CULTURE chronic imbalance, but what sort of imbalance? A ‘put-down’ of ‘womena’? NO WAY! The root source of the dysfunction lies much deeper, in the manner in which WESTERN CULTURE LANGUAGE AND GRAMMAR employs the DOUBLE ERROR of NAMING and GRAMMAR to construct SUBSTITUTE REALITIES , representations of sense-experience reality in a ONE-SIDED MALE ASSERTING/ACTUALIZING ONLY CONTEXT.
THAT IS, THE FARMER, (MALE OR FEMALE) IS GIVEN CREDIT FOR GROWING A VALUABLE CROP OF WHEAT, but IN SPITE OF THE SKILLS OF THE FARMER, there is not always the result of the GROWTH of a VALUABLE CROP because of DROUGHT, EXCESSIVE RAIN and FLOODING, HURRICANES and TORNADOES that destroy the crops, INSECTS and DISEASES that destroy CROPS etc. etc. There is ALWAYS a FEMALE ACCOMMODATING/ENABLING CONJUGATE that is PRIMARY and it is a NONLOCAL and IMPLICIT (RELATIONAL) INFLUENCE that OVERRIDES and is CONJUGATE with the LOCAL and EXPLICIT SPROUTING OF THE PLANT SEEDS.
The POINT IS THAT while we WESTERN CULTURE ADHERENTS are in the habit of using SIMPLISTIC BINARY LOGIC BASED LINGUISTIC CONCEPTUALIZATIONS ( ONE-SIDED MALE ASSERTING/ACTUALIZING PROPOSITIONS) such as “FARMER JOHN PRODUCED 60 bushels of wheat per acre on his 640 acre farm”, implying that “HE DID IT”, … his equally competent twin brother, FARMER HENRY, averaged only 5 bushels of wheat per acre on his 640 acre farm which was influenced by the destructive influences of hailstorms, flooding and tornadoes. Here we can see the OVER-RIDING INFLUENCE of the FEMALE ACCOMMODATING/ENABLING which WE WESTERN CULTURE ADHERENTS DO NOT MENTION IN OUR MODE OF LINGUISTIC CONCEPTUALIZING WHICH IS LIMITED TO ONE-SIDED MALE ASSERTING/ACTUALIZING, for example, FARMER JOHN PRODUCED X while FARMER HENRY PRODUCED Y.
There is NO MENTION of BOTH FARMER JOHN and FARMER HENRY being INCLUDED IN SOMETHING GREATER THAN THEMSELVES WHICH, SINCE IT IS GREATER, IS THE OVER-RIDING DETERMINANT OF ALL DEVELOPMENTS IN THE TRANSFORMING RELATIONAL CONTINUUM.
We WESTERN CULTURE ADHERENTS, MAKE SUCH CLAIMS AS “I PRODUCED 60 bushels of wheat per acre on my 640 acre farm” and received the AGRICULTURAL SOCIETY’S MEDAL OF EXCEPTIONAL ACHIEVEMENT. John’s brother HENRY did not even make the “HONOURABLE MENTION” list. I.e. WE WESTERN CULTURE ADHERENTS HAVE THE OPPOSITE OF A “POTLATCH” ETHIC.
The potlatch ceremony was banned in Canada from 1885 to 1951. The federal government added the ban to the Indian Act to suppress Indigenous cultures, believing the ceremonies hindered the assimilation of First Nations into Euro-Canadian society. Practicing it was a punishable offense, leading to imprisonment and the seizure of ceremonial regalia.

The tricky point is; HOW DO WE CAPTURE IN LANGUAGE, THE NONLOCAL AND IMPLICIT? It seems to me that we need a scheme that AVOIDS CONVEYING THE LOCAL and EXPLICIT. This is what I see in Tom (i.e. what is not explicitly present but is implicit) in Tom Dejong’s art; i.e. something that is purely relational (nonlocal and implicit/relational)
In modern physics, we have to find a way to describe things purely in relational terms because that is where the PRIMARY UNDERSTANDING LIES; i.e. in the NONLOCAL and IMPLICIT (relational).
The reduction to the LOCAL AND EXPLICIT actually OBSCURES the primary reality which is the NONLOCAL and IMPLICIT. The NONLOCAL and IMPLICIT is the source of interconnection and interdependence wherein everything is related as in this affirmation of Chief Seattle; Man did not weave the web of life, he is merely a strand in it. Whatever he does to the web, he does to himself.”
As Nueroscientist Iain McGilchrist points out, we have infused into our thinking (our linguistic conceptualizing scheme) “A WAY OF THINKING THAT IS REDUCTIVE, MECHANISTIC AND HAS TAKEN US OVER, … THAT TREATS THE WORLD AS A SIMPLE RESOURCE TO BE EXPLOITED, THAT’S MADE US ENORMOUSLY POWERFUL, ITS ENABLED US TO BECOME WEALTHY, BUT IT’S ALSO MEANT THAT WE’VE LOST THE MEANS TO UNDERSTAND THE WORLD.
“A way of thinking which is reductive, mechanistic has taken us over,” said [neuroscientist] Iain McGilchrist in The Divided Brain. “We behave like people who have right hemisphere damage.
“[It] treats the world as a simple resource to be exploited. It’s made us enormously powerful. It’s enabled us to become wealthy, but it’s also meant that we’ve lost the means to understand the world, to make sense of it, to feel satisfaction and fulfilment through our place in the world.”
WHAT McGilchrist is TALKING ABOUT IS OUR HABIT OF SUBSTITUTING SIMPLE BINARY LOGIC BASED UNDERSTANDING (which reduces everything to a LOCAL, EXPLICIT CONTEXT)… WHERE A NONBINARY LOGIC BASED UNDERSTANDING IS NEEDED (which preserves the NONLOCAL, IMPLICIT (relational) structure of REALITY
My point is that the REAL STUFF is NONLOCAL and IMPLICIT and DOES NOT REDUCE TO LOCAL EXPLICIT REPRESENTATION. Thus a method of communicating or describing must be used which does not WIMP OUT in the LOCAL and EXPLICIT, it must avoid that in order to elicit in the observer, that which is NONLOCAL and IMPLICIT.
BOOTSTRAPPING.
Getting to conceptualizations that are purely relational (NONLOCAL and IMPLICIT) without dependency on the LOCAL AND EXPLICIT is on the path to an understanding of Modern physics (understanding of a world wherein everything in in relational flux).
NONBINARY LOGIC is relational and WITHOUT DEPENDENCY ON ‘THINGS’, and we use it to come to understand things PURELY by way of relations. Geoffrey Chew is a Modern physics researcher and he describes ‘BOOTSTRAPPING’ (building understanding up solely from relations), as follows;
[Geoffrey Chew]: “when you formulate a question, you have to have some basic concepts that you are accepting in order to formulate the question. But in the bootstrap approach, where the whole system represents a network of relationships without any firm foundation, the description of subject can be begun at a great variety of different places. There isn’t any clear starting point. And the way our theory has developed in the last few years, we quite typically don’t know what questions to ask. We use consistency as the guide, and each increase in the consistency suggests something that is incomplete, but it rarely takes the form of a well-defined question. We are going beyond the whole question-and-answer framework’.
BOOTSTRAPPING is a Modern physics version of getting to a STRAND-IN-THE-WEB based (purely relational) understanding. Schroedinger articulates the Modern physics version while Chief Seattle repeats the same understanding; “The world is given to me only once, not one existing and one perceived. Subject and object are only one. The barrier between them cannot be said to have broken down as a result of recent experience in the physical sciences, for this barrier does not exist.” –Schroedinger. In this case, we acknowledge the natural primacy of the NONLOCAL and IMPLICIT (relational) OVER THE LOCAL and EXPLICIT.
This says that the IMPORTANT STUFF is the STUFF WE HAVE TO CREEP UP ON, WITHOUT LETTING OUR “IMPLICIT” DEGENERATE INTO SOMETHING “EXPLICIT”. THE IMPLICIT GIVES US ACCESS TO THE NONLOCAL WHILE THE EXPLICIT GROUNDS US IN THE LOCAL. Once I open my mouth (so to speak) and say “THE TOWN IS GROWING” I have established inclusion in the WORLD OF THE LOCAL and EXPLICIT. In order to open the door to the NONLOCAL and IMPLICIT, I need to speak in such terms as “THERE IS TOWNING IN THE TRANSFORMING LANDSCAPE” wherein everything is in flux and there is no dependence on LOCAL and EXPLICIT.
So, we need art to help us become aware of the NONLOCAL and IMPLICIT which is the PRIMARY REALITY, and to liberate us from our CAPTURE by the LOCAL and EXPLICIT which imprisons us within a reductive pseudo-reality which is FRAGMENTED and OBSCURANTIST.
